Hey Les, we’d holidayed here and loved the fact is was less commercial than some of the other islands. It feels laid back but still plenty to do. We love walking too so lots of different trails to explore 👍
What a great place to visit for a day trip. Spectacular views and some good places to chill out at. Good to see that the island is getting back to the 'new' normal. Great news that the Uk is dropping the quarantine requirements for lots of destinations including Spain.
Great bid again. I've been to the caves a few times and like you said the views are great and a great day out also had some lovely sea food at your favourite restaurant. Keep up the good work girls look forward to the next vid. Take care.
The beach and caves at Ajuy are geologically significant globally, being one of the few sites in the world where volcanic and sedimentary events combined together over a short period of time to create the landscape. Just by the beach carpark you can see in the cliff face layers of volcanic lava flows sandwiching tidal flooding deposits - fascinating! A lovely place to visit, well worth half a day or longer to explore. There are a few cafes dotted around the village and a visitor centre above the beach, unfortunately on my visit, it was closed 🤔 However, when I visited in December last year there were also some beautiful examples of beach art 🙂
Sadly the visitor centre has been closed every time we’ve been. It’s a fascinating place, thanks for explaining the geological significance much better than I could 👍
Hiya Ladies always a great video, beautiful caves wow definitely worth a visit, I bet the views are just outstanding, thank you for sharing, and good advice regarding the water, Take care, have a great week and weekend x
Wow! New knew that was even there! Definitely want to go and explore the caves next year. Take care thanks for these great videos they really are a blessing and a bit of escapism at the moment. Kirsty
Another great video again, thanks You mentioned about parking, I always worry if I'm parked correctly can you explain the different parking rules - white lines, yellow lines etc?
General rule of thumb- White is free, any other colour is normally to be avoided. Coloured bays often indicate a taxi rank, bus stop, disabled bay or metered parking (blue, green in Puerto del Rosario). If parallel parking you must also park facing the same direction as the traffic so if you see a space on the other side of the road you’ll need find somewhere to turn around rather than just crossing over (never attempt a u-turn in the road here as it’s not allowed).
@@AmeliaBolger Thank you for the reply, very helpful, I knew about facing the same way as the traffic when parking as a police officer in Pajara once made that rule very clear to me.
Another great vid Amelia , and two lovely places to visit . Didn’t they used to have the donkey working the mill, next to the church in Paraja. .....and have you ever been to the reservoir off the main road to Los Molinas
That’s right about the donkey, although we’ve never seen it when we’ve been. Not sure if they do it every day or just certain times of the year. We like Los Molinos, another nice area to have a walk and a couple of cafes for a drink. It’s been a while since we’ve been so must go back soon 👍
Hi .. enjoying your videos.. I am visiting calete De fuste..on the 9 th to the 12 th.. my hotel has cancelled on me..was wondering if you have a list of places open in calete De fuste on these dates...my appreciation and thanks in advance...
Hi Elizabeth, the tourist board haven’t updated the lists. Off the top of my head- Bungalows Castillo Playa, Barcelo Castillo Beach, Elba Sara all currently open. If you book Elba San Jorge you will likely be moved to Elba Sara as although they said 1st July they’ve pushed it back a bit. Plenty of private rentals with availability. There’s a discount link to AirBnb in the description of this video if it helps you
Hi Ladies, another great video. I never knew these caves were here, looks amazing. I was due to arrive yesterday unfortunately my travel company let me down badly so I think I’ve lost everything. Hopefully I’ll be able to get back here sometime soon.
Hi ladies another great video but being a few decades ahead of you l think l'll have a couple of beers in the Beach Cafe and watch your video again 😉🍺🍺👍
@@AmeliaBolger no problem senoritas will be going to the Beach Cafe from 28 November at lunch time do come and join us (if not sooner)regards Donny and Hazel xx
Great information and looks like one for our list to visit, only concern is hiring a car price’s ect and what’s the driving like there and a complement in your videoing getting really good steady videos can tell you have your wind mic now thanks for the great videos Darren and jhan uk
We have been to Fuerteventura over a dozen times highly recommend staying in Corallejo Fuereventura it is one of the best places we have visited highly recommend hiring a car very good and quiet roads keep watching these vogs as there are so many places to visit
@@AmeliaBolger yeah I did some driving there a few years ago and the biggest problem was cyclists lol. Caleta is a good base to explore from and this time I'd like to see some of the west coast... Keep the vids coming 😎
im back over on the 14th of july and my youngest is coming with me so for the first time i will be renting a car so definitely going to visit the caves with him
Just wondering if could you let us know how you get on with the flight and at the airport just so i know what to expect im feeling aprehensive now. Would be much appricated xx
There are currently 5 cases in the general population here (all isolated at home, 0 hospitalisations). In addition, there are 37 cases amongst migrants that were recently rescued at sea and brought ashore. They are being quarantined in government facilities on the island and have not been allowed to freely move around so those figures are being recorded separately.
Hey Jessica, in no particular order- 1. Ajuy caves 2. Betancuria 3. El Cotillo 4. South beaches - Sotavento, Jandia, Morro Jable, Cofete 5. Corralejo and it’s beaches including the dunes 6. Try and eat local if you can, the businesses here have really suffered the last few months! Have a great holiday, a few of these places are featured in some of my other videos 👍😎
A fair few bars now open, restaurants not so much but I think the next couple of weeks will see more opening as more flights come in. Will do another video there soon to keep everyone updated 👍
Wow this place is beautiful 😍 ❤.. im coming over soon got our confirmation saying our holiday is going ahead on 26th July im delighted I need to wind down and enjoy the sun... was wondering if you have been to caleta recently and if anything is open yet I've googled like the harbour and white center and there all still stating temp closed am starting to worry as caleta is my destination all the time. So was unsure XXX
The harbour restaurants and bars are owned by Barcelo so may need a bit longer to open up. They also operate the White Centre so businesses there need to wait for Barcelo to agree to reopen the centre. I’ve not heard any definitive dates for those yet. There are more bars and restaurants opening every week here though and we’ll certainly be doing another update video from Caleta before you’re due to arrive 👍
@@AmeliaBolger Aw thanks kindly for that update as we were unsure of if things will be opening soon ect.. its brilliant info and I'm looking forward to the video🤩 much love steph and the family in Scotland🥳
Thanks for these fabulous videos, never realised how much there is to explore outside our resort! I was wondering if you would be able to help me we are meant to be flying out in 5wks and staying at the Elba Carlota (Caleta de Fuste) but can’t get any info if the hotel or resort is back open and what restrictions are in place.
You have to wear them in all of the shops. You don’t need to in bars and restaurants when eating and drinking. You must have one on you at all times and if you are anywhere where you can’t maintain 1.5m then you should wear it. It’s really not a problem here as nowhere is crowded. Just make sure you have one.
