The great thing about this one is that you can also connect by a network cable as well, which is wonderful if you worry about wifi-deauthentication blasters. One gotcha that I encountered with it is that if you are powering it through an existing doorbell cable it needs to output no less than 12-20v. Even at 11.7 volts it will only work intermittently, but once you ensure it gets what's needed it's as stable as a rock!
Thank you so much for your feedback. I have not personally tried this but I am sure it is possible. This video may be helpful th-cam.com/video/_Aom_PhdzwA/w-d-xo.html
I noticed that the official HA Reolink integration doesn’t support 2-way audio, and I was curious why this hasn’t been discussed much. To enable this feature, it seems necessary to use go2rtc either directly or through the Frigate add-on. It doesn't seem like a full integration to me without this feature.
@@simonsayshomeassistant I see, are you planning to? I remember seeing a video tutorial on how to do it using frigate. Would love to see a tutorial coming from you as well. Have a great day!
Hi! When you say it integrates with Home Assistant and records locally, is it still going through the cloud or really all local? In other words if I shutdown the Internet will it respond?
@@johnnyrotit844 hi Johnny it records locally onto an sd card inside the camera. You can also record clips based on motion into your home assistant data base. It is not relying on the internet
Can you answer the door from the home assistant app too when someone rings, or do you still do that from the Reolink app? Sorry if newb question, new to HA
I have their new doorbell. I only get as far as user name and password (which are correct). Then I get an error message. I cannot locate anything to enable in the Mac client app like the cameras so I can access the doorbell. Any ideas??
My grandson Justin put that in my home...I love it.
Oh that is so cool! What an awesome grandson!
Hello Simon great video I use the eufy Video Doorbell
HI Bigbird thank you so much for your feedback! What is the Eufy like?

Hi Ken, thank you for your valuable input! Yes this is a really great, local control camera doorbell!
And with this video, you gained my sub. You have done great HA videos too.
Thank you so much for your Sub and feedback, I really appreciate it!
Hi Simon great video I wish the armrest AD 410 was as simple as this
Yes Reolink is so easy to use with home assistant!
Where can all those settings noted at 3:30 be adjusted in HA? Eg, email notifications.
Hi Corey, the email notification would need to be setup in the reolink app and then you can turn them on or off in HA
can we use the model with battery in home assistant ???? Thanks. Reolink Video Doorbell Camera Wireless 2K Battery
Hi, I am hoping to get one soon and then I will test it out with Home Assistant
I found your video very helpful, thank you! Is it possible to use Home Assistant to send rich notifications without subscribing to reolink cloud?
Thank you so much for your feedback. I have not personally tried this but I am sure it is possible. This video may be helpful th-cam.com/video/_Aom_PhdzwA/w-d-xo.html
@ this link was also helpful too! I couldn’t see what the snapshot would look like but I’m excited to try it out! Subscribed :)

Yes, that is very true. Let's hope that HA offers this some time in the near future
when you have person detection on can it take a snapshot of the person and save that picture?
I haven't managed to achieve this but I am sure that someone smarter than me could write a short script to do so
thanks for the great demo! are you able to use the 2 way audio call from the home assistant dashboard?
Thank you so much for the feedback. No I have not been able to get the audio call to work though Home Assistant

Hi, sorry I have not tried the Tapo doorbell yet
But does it work with only a local network without the cloud server?

Hi, please feel free to ask any questions! No unfortunately I have not been able to get the chat to work via HA so you have to use the Reolink app
How do you use two way audio in HA?
Sorry I haven't worked that out yet

Hi, sorry I am running the app on PC and I don't have a mac to test
Hi. You have to enable https in the network settings of the camera to have it available in home assistant
@@9000526 I just found out from Reolink that is impossible on any of their battery cameras or doorbells
Reolinks are the best per dollar invest of any camera systems i've used. Better than the 1000 Axis cameras.
Yes, I agree totally!
I would need to have it to be able to play google tts messages through home assistant . Otherwise it would not be a solution for me
I don't think it can do this
Be sure to enable HTTPS on the camera, so HA can access it
Thank you for your valuable support. I think mine was already enabled as it connected to home assistant right away
But.... This is not a real "local" integration. It doesn't show the live video in locally
Hi, yes mine is showing the live video locally in Home Assistant.
