- A&Z #1069 - Professional eater Randy Santel versus The Pennant's El Gigante Peanut Butter and Jelly Bacon Hamburger Challenge w/ poutine fries hosted by The Pennant in downtown Topeka, Kansas!! I finished up my dietetic internship on May 19th, 2022 and @KatinaEatsKilos and I knew we were leaving for Dublin, Ireland on June 7, 2022 to begin our international travel plans. Before leaving, we wanted to attempt 12 food challenges around 6 midwestern USA states. For event #4 of 12, we headed to downtown Topeka, Kansas which is the state capital of Kansas. Katina and I attempted and were hoping to become the 2nd and 3rd people to win the newer "El Gigante" Peanut Butter and Jelly Bacon Hamburger Challenge w/ poutine fries at The Pennant which was absolutely delicious!! I went first and had just 30 minutes to feast on a 3.5lb juicy beef burger patty topped with 8 thick-cut slices of bacon plus lots of Thai peanut sauce, and wild berry jam, all on a football shaped bread bun served with an order of poutine fries covered with brown gravy and melted cheese. I enjoyed one of their (optional) delicious signature deluxe milkshakes along the way and also a Happy Basset IPA by Happy Basset Brewing Co (also optional). I was trying to win a sweet t-shirt and the 2nd spot up on The Pennant's Wall of Fame!! BIG thanks to everyone with The Pennant Topeka for the wonderful food, drinks, and hospitality!! Special thanks to everyone from around the Topeka area who came to watch and meet us that early afternoon. The Pennant's "El Gigante" Peanut Butter Jelly Bacon Hamburger Challenge in Topeka, Kansas ($50):

Or, hangout in the beer garden overlooking Kansas Avenue and the coming soon Cyrus Hotel. Maybe bowling is your jam, so head downstairs and jump on one of our four bowling alleys. Don't worry, we can always put the bumpers up if you need them. The Pennant. Come for the great food and drinks, stay to play!
- This "El Gigante" has a 30 minute time limit to finish a gigantic burger served with some fries.
- There is a giant 3.5lb beef burger patty topped with 8 thick-cut strips of bacon plus a Thai peanut sauce and lots of wild berry jam. It's all placed on a football-shaped bun. The challenge includes an order of French fries. The poutine gravy and cheese I added were both optional.
- This is a pay-to-play food challenge. Everyone pays $50 for the hamburger meal. Winners get a sweet t-shirt and spot on the Wall of Fame. Losers get a shirt proclaiming they failed and a picture posted on the Wall of Shame. Could you finish this whole hamburger challenge in 30 minutes??

Hey everyone thanks for watching!! This video might be filmed wrong and it might be right. I've heard it both ways. On the day of, I was told that Joel ate the burgers first and then the fries. I've also heard he ate the first burger with fries to complete the first challenge and then ate the 2nd challenge. His video is not up yet so I don't know. Joel doubled the challenge. His time for the first one was just under 9 minutes. You didn't beat him!
His time was 10:58 for the first one and if you watch the clock he didnt start his second burger and fries until the 11 minute and 45 second mark and finished that in just 17 minutes and 14 seconds. He beat Randys time twice in one sitting!

Joel finished his first burger and fries in 10 minutes and 58 seconds. He didnt start the second burger and fries until the timer hit 11 minutes and 45 seconds and he finished at the 28 minute and 59 second mark. That puts his second time at 17 minutes and 14 seconds meaning he was faster than Randy both times in one sitting. That boys a beast!!

I had to giggle when he tried saying 28 minutes. It doesn't work that way. 15 minutes tops since he downed the first burger in 10 minutes and a single serving of the fries since they'd be easier than the burger... maybe 5 minutes or LESS and I'm betting more like 2 minutes.

I am a Randy fan. Seen him down here at Johnny Rockets in Miami for his challenge. Joel is a straight up beast, like he downs food and it just doesn't phase him and I love that he does "All you can eat" challenges because its literally all about how far you're willing to go.
I prefer Randy, he promotes the restaurants he visits, and always manages to bring lots of visitors. Joel uses restaurants to promote himself, and to get free or cheap food, he never orders drinks just drinks the complimentary water. And he always trash-talks on the all-you-can-eat restaurants when they start asking questions about his unusual large appetite.
Am a fan of both but let's be 100 that's not true Joe finished that first challenges at 10mins an 48 seconds so you have to beat that
