Dracula's castle (Bran) is a tourist trap but I'm glad you guys liked it. If you want to get a real kick on Halloween you should check the Padurea Hoia Baciu (Hoia the Sheepherder Forest). There's also a house in Budapest where Vlad supposedly lived his last years. According to new evidence that fits the local legends, Vlad wasn't murdered but evaded as he was a master of disguise and fled to Hungary where he lived on his wife's estate for the rest of his life. True or false, worth a visit as he certainly lived there for a while too.

18:30 Yes, there are a lot of bears in Romania. We're the country with the most bears in Europe, about 45% of the total bear population. And no, bears haven't really been staying far from the cities lately, they roam closer and closer to the cities, in the search for food, which is why there are a bunch of signs informing people of places with frequent bear activity. We have RoAlerts when there's been a bear sighting in our vicinity, and, if I'm not wrong, Brasov is the Romanian city with the most bears walking around in the streets (especially during the night).

Amazing!! We now know how to say them correctly 🥰 Romania has been an absolute dream. So pretty! We are traveling to Bra-shov on train right now and the countryside passing by is breathtaking!!
Actually there is not any mentions between Vlad III Basarab a.k.a. Vlad the Impaler a.k.a. Dracula and Bran's Castle, but is almost sure that Vlad the Impaler knew very well this castle. But if you want to see the real Dracula's castle go to visit the Poenari Castle (Argeș County), which is not so far away from Bran's Castle. Even if Poenari Castle is in ruined today, the landscape, the view from this location are so AMAZING. So good luck guys and greetings from Ploiesti, Romania.
Hi there!! Maybe we will visit this castle in the next few days!! 🥰 We get to Braşov in about 20 minutes and so maybe we will take the train to Poenari castle! Thank you 🤗
You can use "mersi"(pronounced as "merci" in French) instead of "multumesc" if you find it easier. There are some nuances in usage, but for someone who doesn't know the language, it's perfectly fine. "Mersi" is more like "thanks", "multumesc" is more like "thank you" and "multumesc frumos" is more like "thank you very much". LE: Regarding the bears, they are very many and they do come into towns, so watch out. If a bear is spotted in the town, you will receive an emergency SMS on your phones.
Such great feedback!! We will definitely stick to Merci from now on! 🥰 And woah 😳 We’re really glad we are just learning that after exploring haha. Could’ve turned into a very different video lol Tomorrow in Bucharest we begin filming our Romanian food tour, which we will also film dishes in Braşov and Cluj-Napoca. Very excited! Let us know if you have any recommendations! 🤗
@@WyattandReykatraditional restaurants in Bucharest with stunning architecture: Caru' cu bere (The beer cart) and Hanul lui Manuc (Manuc's Inn, the oldest hotel in Bucharest). Another place to eat: La Mama, a restaurant chain with great food. Or just pop in some place selling takeaway lunches to people. I would advise to try one of our sour soups (ciorba): meatball sour soup (ciorba de perisoare), ciorba rădăuțeană ( with chicken and sour cream), tripe soup if you are brave (ciorba de burta), bean soup with hock, cabbage soup. Near Universitate Square there is a restaurant called Pescarul (The Fisherman) where you can have fish soup. As seconds try sarmale with polenta /mămăligă, even polenta with white cheese and sour cream, or polenta with mushrooms stew. Go to a grill to try mici (not in restaurants, they need to be made on an open fire). Go to a marketplace, try "must" (freshly squeezed unpasteurised grape juice, even better when it slighly enters fermentation, but take care), mutton pastrama on the grill. For desserts try the papanaşi. Or go to a marketplace and see those selling homemade cakes, like Dobos or others (from Friday to Sunday there is one in front of Academia Militară, you can take the M5 metro there, or just get off at Eroilor metro station and walk there, it is small, but has delicious things to eat).
@@WyattandReyka Buy a bear spray and keep it in your backpack but within reach, better to have it and not need it. If you go on the Transfagarasan highway up to Balea lake and down to the Vidraru damm you will see bears on the side of the road, begging for food from the tourists. But do not feed them as the govt. has installed cammeras and will punish the people that feed the bears, as many tourists do not understand not to do it, and they have taught the bears to associate humans with food now, and the state has started to relocate and even shoot some bears because of the issue starting to get out of control. Loong sentence 😅
@@WyattandReyka I'd say try lamb pastrami with polenta at Nishani restaurant. You could also try, the Obor Mici, they are pretty famous, but its a long queue there usually, search about them. If you want fish plates you could also try Rare Garden, they have carp brine with polenta, fried anchovies and some good mix of romanian and aromanian food. Also for lunch menus you could go to City Grill Covaci, they have some decent lunch menus for only 7 euros or something. You have to try "sarmale", basically some cabbage rolls with meat and rice inside them. They are served with polenta. You find this at City Grill Covaci, and the traditional romanian restaurants in general.
@@mimisor66 La mama doesn't have good food anymore, and Pescarul has some bad reviews, I wouldn't recommend them to people. Agree with the rest of your post.

Bran castle was stripped of the furnitrure and everything inside in the communist times, it was empty for decades, everything you saw was brought up recently. We used to visit it when we were kids with school, it was a boring trip :). A beautiful castle to visit is Peles in Sinaia (former king's winter residence, trains from bucharest to Brasov stops there), the biggest one is Corvins' Castle in Hunedoara, which was a medieval kings' residence. There are Fagaras and Alba Iulia which have very nice forts, the one in Faragras was never conquered, altough many times attacked. You should also see Sighisoara, which is a city located inside it's medieval standing walls.
We are on the train from Bucharest to Braşov now. Is it possible to get off the train and see it easily? Is it worth it? The problem is we have our luggage with us. We looked up pictures and it looks beautiful. Thank you!! 🙏
You ve been in Rasnov!? Interesting choice, the tourists usually are going to Brasov after Bucharest, Rasnonv is smaller and not as popular as Brasov but it is still very beautiful

Is interesting how people thinks Romania is a bad country getting lied about it all their life and after they come here in Romania they get socked how nice all is in Romania. If you think Romania is so nice, respect it, do not talk bad about this country. Because we do not get too much respect form many so call "western developed countries".
We did not ever think Romania was abad country! We just did not know what to expect. And it is amazing! Hopefully these videos will show our viewers just how marvellous it really is 🥰

Guys, try not to use ATMs that are placed in train stations or airports. Always go for the ones that belong to major localnor international banks. I couldn't see if that was a Euronet ATM, but it looked like one. Avoid them as they can charge you significantly more in hidden fees and commissions.
When your hungry on the street in Bucharest or in Romania in gnr buy a shaorma , believe me that will be your meal for all day & it' s soooo good. You can choose what to put on your shaorma. In Bucharest the best ones are from turcks in my opinion. ❤ or try " mici " our traditional food . " Mici " & sarmale are the best . " mici " translated " the small ones" ❤ those are called " iele " ( the females dancing in white ) ❤

you know that this is the castle where Vlad Tepes reigned and which is associated with Dracula by people, but actually the castle referred in to Bram Stoker's book is in Bistrita County, Piatra Fantanele Village. There you will find the Cemetery that is mentioned in the book, the Pass called Pasul Tihuta, etc.
-''Are there bears in Romania?'' haha, Romania has the largest bear population in Europe (except for Russia but most of Russia is in Asia anyway) so yeah. @@WyattandReyka Well Bran castle as Dracula's Castle is almost 100% marketing. Anyway the Bran Castle is impressive even without marketing. The fortress of Vlad the Impaler is Poenari Citadel and it is not easy to rich. You need a car, and if you will visit Poenari, after that, just keep the road on Transfagarasan.
Those tarps are compulsory not a choice for the renovating team. One more thing.. bears are not far from people in Romania.. it is quite often that they come into the cities looking for food.. and they are all over the Carpathian mountains not just in Teansylvania.. we have the largest bears polulation in EU.. so be careful😂😂😂

Nice to see that turists like Romania compared to romanians who always have to say something bad. :) We have a lot of bears, not just some far in the mountains.

The planes in the sky have gotten many times more than they used to be, once the war in Ukraine started and Nato started bringing heavy equipment in Romania.
Bran is a tourist trap and it's sad that it seems most tourists and definitely all the youtubers don't find out that right next to Bran, like 10km's away, there's places to go to that are so much better than going to Bran castle: the foothills between Bucegi and Piatra Craiului mountains! Hop in a taxi from Bran and go to Amfiteatrul Transilvania, Moieciu de Sus/Fundata villages and Magura/Pestera villages, with stunning views of the mountains and rolling hills, especially in autumn at the end of october and culturally interesting too as these are typical scattered mountain villages, especially if you walk between Pestera and Magura. So much better than wasting time at Bran
We will remember your suggestions!! Thank you!! It is definitely a tourist trap at Bran, but we still enjoyed haha! Cool history and pretty castle. Raşnov was beautiful too! We are on the train from Bucharest up to Braşov again right now so maybe we will make it out to the foothills between Bucegi and Piatea Craiului 🤗
@@WyattandReyka Oh that'd be cool, for me that's the best area to visit around Brasov and the autumn colors should still be there. I went there just last week, I go every autumn, it's so beautiful! You can take a taxi from Bran or you can go from Brasov to Zarnesti(there's trains every hour, it's a town a few km from Rasnov and over the hill from Bran, same area basically but I prefer it over all of them, you could even stay there, there's 2 accommodations I always use, 3 Brazi or Hora cu Brazi, where they also have some animals) and take a taxi from there. You could go to Amfiteatrul Transilvania and then hike down to Moieciu de Sus on the Ecotourist trail 8(Traseu ecoturistic 8, you should find it online), the longer section through Cheile Gradistei ,Poiana Andolia. Or you can take the trail that goes down to Cheia, it should show on google maps, it's an easy, 1h30min walk or so on a very clear trail with views of the mountains. Highly suggest the trail between Pestera village and Magura village, also very easy walk and the best to get a feel of these old mountain villages, with great views. You can reach there easily from Zarnesti with the taxi through Magura or start in Pestera, the road up to Pestera is close to Bran. Bran and the resorts around Sinaia(Predeal, Busteni) are overly touristy. Btw, there is bears in that area, there's bears EVERYWHERE in and around mountains in Romania, we have the most bears in Europe after Russia and Brasov area is FULL of bears, there's bears even in Brasov. In Sinaia(Predeal and Busteni too, especially Busteni) it's fairly likely to have bears come down looking for food on the street. In Zarnesti and Magura/Pestera villages, all these villages on the hills, I think during the day it's unlikely to meet a bear, especially on those trails going from one to the next along the exposed hills aka not in the woods, I've not met one and I go several times a year, it's not quite as bad but they are around. Just avoid being on the trail around sunset, talk when you're on the trail and definitely don't run or throw things at a bear if you see one, which you probably won't there but still.
In Bucharest yesterday we ate at Hanu’lui Manuc and it was delicioussss! We particularly liked Sarmale, Mamaliga and Romanian donuts! Arriving to Braşov from Bucharest in about 15 minutes tho so maybe we will try some more Romanian food tonight 🤗🥰

Romanian cities need at least 50 years of investment to look decent. Bucharest 100 years 🤮 Sibiu is smal. Sinai’s even smaller and peles Castle is a disaster under renovation - don’t go there. The only cities I would recommend visiting in Romania are Cluj and Oradea.

hello , Bucuresti / Boo- koo- resh- tea , Brasov / Bra-shov enjoy Romania !
Amazing!! We now know how to say them correctly 🥰
Romania has been an absolute dream.
We get to Braşov in about 20 minutes and so maybe we will take the train to Poenari castle! Thank you 🤗
@@WyattandReyka Good luck guys! And God bless you.
Thank you so much!! 🥰 and likewise. May God bless you too.
Welcome to my home country ❤️!
Thank you!! 🥰 our absolute pleasure! Romania is beautiful!
Amazing idea. Brilliant I would say
You are sweet!! We had an amazing day and are so glad we came during Halloween 🤗🥰
And woah 😳 We’re really glad we are just learning that after exploring haha. Could’ve turned into a very different video lol
Tomorrow in Bucharest we begin filming our Romanian food tour, which we will also film dishes in Braşov and Cluj-Napoca.

Thank you so much!!! We loved Romania!! Amazing experience. Glad you are enjoying the videos and we hope to publish more as soon as possible. We fly to a new country today so should have some nice editing time on the plane 🤞
Nice work guys 💜 I had friends named Reyka in Transylvania and your features confirm name.
The real castle of Vald Tepes or Vlad the Impaler is the Castle of Poenari to visit the castle you have to climb 1480 steps, the landscape is more impressive than in Bran and the view takes your breath away, and btw i forgot to tell you WELCOME TO ROMANIA and enjoy your stay here
Okay we will try to visit castle!! Is it difficult to reach??
Thank you so much for watching! We love Romania so far soooo much!! Amazing country 🥰
So many castles and medieval ruins!! We need an entire year to explore all of Romania!! 🇷🇴
Interesting info about Deva's Fortress...was the only fortress in Transylvania that was never conquered....if you go there you will understand why.
Oh we will try to visit next time!! Thank you 🙏 🤗
And why wasn’t it conquered? Just a very inaccessible building?

We are on the train from Bucharest to Braşov now. Is it possible to get off the train and see it easily? Is it worth it? The problem is we have our luggage with us.
We looked up pictures and it looks beautiful. Thank you!! 🙏

You ve been in Rasnov!? Interesting choice, the tourists usually are going to Brasov after Bucharest, Rasnonv is smaller and not as popular as Brasov but it is still very beautiful
It was soooo beautiful!! We actually are going to visit Braşov tomorrow 🥰
We are on the train there now, we will sleep there tonight, and then explore in the morning! Cannot wait to visit more of this awesome country 🤗
@WyattandReyka Alright, enjoy your trip in Romania!

@WyattandReyka it's not far from Brasov, just type Sinaia or Castelul Peles on maps so you can have a better understanding

Guys, try not to use ATMs that are placed in train stations or airports. Always go for the ones that belong to major localnor international banks.
I couldn't see if that was a Euronet ATM, but it looked like one. Avoid them as they can charge you significantly more in hidden fees and commissions.
Okay thank you we will definitely use the local ones 🙏🥰
When your hungry on the street in Bucharest or in Romania in gnr buy a shaorma , believe me that will be your meal for all day & it' s soooo good. You can choose what to put on your shaorma. In Bucharest the best ones are from turcks in my opinion. ❤ or try " mici " our traditional food . " Mici " & sarmale are the best . " mici " translated " the small ones" ❤ those are called " iele " ( the females dancing in white ) ❤
AMAZING suggestion!! We saw your message while exploring harastrau park and decided to get some shoarma. Sooooo delicious! Thank you very much 🥰 it will be in our next video on bucharest!
you know that this is the castle where Vlad Tepes reigned and which is associated with Dracula by people, but actually the castle referred in to Bram Stoker's book is in Bistrita County, Piatra Fantanele Village. There you will find the Cemetery that is mentioned in the book, the Pass called Pasul Tihuta, etc.
It’s not. Cetatea Poenari is where he reigned. He never lived in Bran, that is just false information for marketing purposes.
That’s so interesting!!!! We will have to visit that castle next 🥰
Hopefully it is close to Braşov. We are on the train from Bucharest to Braşov now!
Poenari Castle is actually Dracula's castle, where Vlad Tepes actually stayed in, but it's a bit in ruin
We want to visit all of the castles!!
-''Are there bears in Romania?'' haha, Romania has the largest bear population in Europe (except for Russia but most of Russia is in Asia anyway) so yeah. I live in Brasov and especially during summer time at night there is almost every night at least a bear walking around on the streets somewhere in the city
That is crazy!!! We would have never known if there weren’t a sign there 😂
Currently on the train from Bucharest to Braşov and we’ll explore the city of Braşov tomorrow! Maybe we will see you around! Haha. Let us know if you have may recommendations for the city.

Ați vizitat puțin prin București și foarte puțin prin Brașov.
We explored more 🥰 and we have more videos coming from Braşov 🤗
WE LOVE AMERICA
We love Chile!!! 🥰
How did you get those drone footage?
Stock footage sites! I think we got it with Getty images? Not sure tho
