      Actually, it runs in the category "worth a try"
      No judge in their right mind would go along with it, but at the off chance that they did, in case of a conviction, she could have it overturned on the grounds of hostile representation. (Which is of course why a judge would have to be insane to allow it. Even the prosecutor would point that out to the court.)

      My dad likes to answer the phone of scam calls and tell them they called an active crime scene and he needs their contact information because they are now a person of interest.

      @@Sonnabend00I heard about someone’s daughter got the scam call like that and, ironically, had gotten into an accident a few days before. She hit a deer after dark (really ugly and bloody, apparently), and she described the scene, but neglected to give any information about the fact that she hit a deer and just kept calling the deer “her” (it was a doe) and “the body” which made it sound like she had killed someone with her car and the police just didn’t care (they couldn’t do anything about the deer and told to just leave it where it was). Apparently, she never got another call about the accident.

    Someone claims to be a lawyer. Ask for there firm and BAR number. All active lawyers have a BAR number. And that number is public and can be searched for easily.

    So the husband isn't allowed to get married within three years of getting divorced...but what if the wife had gotten married within the same time? Some backward logic that girl's got. I think it's funny when she goes, "I'm a lawyer and you need to pay your ex-wife $50k" to "Be my defense attorney for free." I would be like 'Sure I'll be your lawyer for $50,000 up front no payments."

    The public defender's office will provide an attorney for Nancy. Her ex boyfriend, unlike her is bound by a code of ethics. Those ethics prevent him from working on behalf of a spouse,ex, family or friends. He is also not allowed to lie to the jury in opening/closing arguments nor can he allow a client to perjure themselves on the stand.

      There's an Apple Texts episode where a lady had her brother impersonate a lawyer with the intent of trying to extort $40,000 from the ex-wife of the man she slept with and the ex along with her brother found out that she's a lawyer and that's when the brother admitted to what he did along with making sure it was known that his sister offered him $1,000 to do it.
