“UGH! I HATE your cooking, you’re a HORRIBLE housewife, but I STILL expect to be served meals and catered by you because you’re MY slave! You married into my family, you’re the slave and servant in our family!”
God, Barbara just wants, wants, wants everything because she felt entitled to be treated like a queen by the DIL she sees as the “horrible housewife”.
I can see why her ex-husband divorced her and got the hell out of there!

I’m 59 and I’ve learned a few VERY IMPORTANT LESSONS. 1. Never insult the person that fills your belly. 2. Just do EVERYTHING and ANYTHING your wife tells you to do with a yes darling, and a big smile. 3. Do it immediately too. 4. Worship the person that empties your little fella. Happy wife, happy life! My reward full belly, drained little fella. Get to go hunting and/or fishing with a kiss and smile on her face.

When you recognize that your in-laws are treating you poorly, put your foot down right then and there. Be stern with what you have to say. The only reason why they start using you like a Doormat is because of hesitation.

Eating from a restaurant for 20 years? That expensive as hell and unless this restaurant regularly changes the menu pretty repetitive with only so many dishes to select.

As someone who loves to cook, this broke my heart. I cannot imagine having a MIL like that.
So glad Alicia and David moved out of that hell hole, and kudos to David for cutting ties.
It was pretty funny how she desperately tried to prevent them from moving out.
Edit - I forgot to say that Barbara should’ve realized how lucky she was to have a daughter-in-law that was so nice, polite, and most of all, can cook.
