I use 4G because I don’t really have a need for 5G speeds for my uses. 4G on my 12 Mini battery life really isn’t that bad and it can still download at up to 1 GB per second speeds. I keep hearing 30% more screen time, but that is probably mostly the A15s more efficient use of 5G. Only upgrade for battery if you need 5G. I’m not a fan of the new notch and the camera is only slightly better in lowlight, so I’ll pass this generation.
Actually night mode camera is WAY better, which is the only major upgrade in cameras, so that shouldn't be a holder on whether you should upgrade from 12 to 13 or not, but I still wouldn't recommend doing it..
I have significant issues with my 12 mini. after less than a year batter capacity is at " 92% "not sure if this is normal? in one month it went from 94 to 92% I am supper savy concerning my battery usage and I barely use the device the way you did in your test.. do I have a dud?
It depends on whether you adhere to certain battery rules. Do you often go below 20 percent; this lithium-ion batteries do not like ... Also loading up to 100 percent is also not ok. Optimal battery charging is from 30, 35 percent to max. 90
It's weird, but mine went from 100% (Nov 16th, 2020 was when I bought it) to 86% in about a year, and it's stayed like that ever since. (I used to charge it 40-85%) Has my battery gotten any worse? Nope. Idk if this is an issue with the 12 line-up, cos I remember this was happening even to those who bought the 12 Pro Max.
Do you leave the 5g on? Apple doesn’t make sense they make things that purposely have horrible battery life so people buy a better version and we still do it
i bought iphone 13 mini.. i am not a heavy user.. just whatsapp, snapchat, instagram, some calls and a bit of youtube.. and occasional search my battery lasts more than a day usually.. i charged my phone this morning (8am) and at 1.40 am the next day it is still 48 percent. pretty happy with this. ngl
WhatsApp is the main reason to drain battery. I have 13 pro, usually only have around 4.5 hrs screen on time. But I use a lot of WhatsApp during work. Even receiving WhatsApp messages, it drains battery. So I think messaging is 1 reason on battery test. Besides that, signal strength and 5G are the other factors, at least for me.
@@cheuklinglau6409 Whatsapp doesn't drain that much unless you keep the screen on for hours but 5G, video calling, gaming, camera, high refresh rate, etc. are the worst enemies of battery... Especially cinematic mode. That thing sucks the battery dry. I get hundreds of texts a day... But it works fine . I don't game on it and occasionally use camera. I noted it lasts 40 hours for me.. (~5 hour screen on time).
Remember that there’s a battery difference with a working SIM card vs no sim… the phone is constantly looking for a signal vs when it’s not. So… you’ll maybe technically get like 5hrs maybe of on screen time from mild to heavy use when on cellular data.
The 12 mini looks brighter. The whote color is much more intense compared to the 13. I guess that is a marketing trick Apple did to make people think the 13 has a better battery life….
Currently have an iPhone XS with maxed out storage. Really want a mini but I can’t decide which.. The bigger notch on the 12 doesn’t bother me, but I’m curious how noticeable battery life would be coming from the XS. My phone lasts all day but I’m a very light user compared to this guy. I watch TH-cam probably 2 hours a day but other than that I just listen to music and audiobooks and ask Google questions, plus I keep my brightness basically all the way down most of the time. If I trade in, I can get a 12 Mini with no money out of pocket and 13 for around $200. Not a big deal but is it worth it??
@@ToAnEnd I would probably say opt for the 13 Mini. If you take videos, the camera stabilization built into the 13 Mini might be nice, plus you get a more efficient 5G antenna should you use 5G. I'd say if you plan to keep this next upgrade for 3 years, the battery life on the 13 Mini should be fine, especially if you take steps to maximize your battery life.
Just get the 12 Mini, It's a pretty good upgrade without any big compromises. I wouldn't recommend the 13 Mini though, since it's pretty much the "Pro" version of the 12.
Imo get the 13 mini. Here are my reasons 1) there are leaks that show it will be the last mini apple makes (there won’t be a 14 mini) so you might as well get the best mini iPhone 2)it has twice the storage than the 12 mini if u compare their default prices 3) way better cameras like one of the guys said above 4) better battery life
the batter life is much bette than the XS itll get you through a day with regular use. and theres ways to charge on the go if youre going to be out all day and night.
2:50. Screen brightness on the 12 mini is set noticeably higher. Doesn't matter about setting it so they are both putting out the same light figures. You're measuring battery life so the device should be set the same as the 13 mini
I thought there was a difference of more than five hours, but it's not good. You're just a TH-camr merchant. We should thank the countless Chinese for watching this.
is the battery acceptable for an on screen time of 5h a day? I want to keep the phone 3 years without charging it twice a day. this would be the first switch from android to ios.
Every other reviewer bragging about the much improved battery life on the 13 mini?????? Buying a new phone for less than an hour better battery….no thanks
iPhone 13 mini pros and cons compared to the 12 mini Pros: - 44 minutes longer battery life in practical use accordance to this video test. - Cinematic mode at 30 fps (oppose to none) and HDR up to 60 fps (oppose to 30 fps). - Starts at 128 GB storage opposed to 64 GB. - Typical nits max brightness 800 oppose to 625 nits (175 nits more). -Overall notch size is shorter on the sides. Cons: -The notch is more fat. Much more annoying depending on the individual. And takes up more of the usage screen real estate. - Weights more (7 grams more) - Is more thick (0.25 mm more) - No black colour choice, only midnight (dark bluish). - $150 CAD more. Some prioritize each set differently, it’s up to the individual. For me, I’d personally pick the 12 mini. Extra storage is pretty useless nowadays, more portable (yea, even if it’s a minuscule difference), and that notch on the 13 mini is just too noticeable for me.

Have a great 2022!!
any mobile with cellular data on it takes lot of battery. but with the wifi battery drains very less
4:03 luminosity of 13 is set to’ small value than 12, this could be partecipate to bitter frainteso battery?
I use 4G because I don’t really have a need for 5G speeds for my uses. 4G on my 12 Mini battery life really isn’t that bad and it can still download at up to 1 GB per second speeds. I keep hearing 30% more screen time, but that is probably mostly the A15s more efficient use of 5G. Only upgrade for battery if you need 5G. I’m not a fan of the new notch and the camera is only slightly better in lowlight, so I’ll pass this generation.
here we do get 3g speed on 4g 😂
Actually night mode camera is WAY better, which is the only major upgrade in cameras, so that shouldn't be a holder on whether you should upgrade from 12 to 13 or not, but I still wouldn't recommend doing it..
Good point! 4g is fast enough for any practical usage. 5g just marketing . 12 mini looks like the right one
What an awesome job bro! I’ve just subscribed to your channel
For what I do on my iPhone it’s not the best but for the size it’s amazing. Even though I may have to charge it 2-3 times a day.
Which one has a better display?
long story short: not that big of a difference battery wise on standby mode.. but on use.. roughly 40 to 50 mins more~
can you do this with mobile data instead of wifi?
12 Mini 💪🏾 and iPad mini 6. Really cool 😎 set up I have
The 12 mini has good battery on its on, you see the difference because it is always compared to higher ups
You are correct ✊
(I used to charge it 40-85%)
Has my battery gotten any worse? Nope.
Idk if this is an issue with the 12 line-up, cos I remember this was happening even to those who bought the 12 Pro Max.
I’ve had my iPhone 12 mini for a while and I got about 14 hours on light use and 8 hours with heavy use
Do you leave the 5g on? Apple doesn’t make sense they make things that purposely have horrible battery life so people buy a better version and we still do it
@@josephhall7317 I only have 5g on when I need it just so I can save battery life
Yeah, 12 mini battery life is not as bad as some reviewers make it seem. Perfectly good for 6+ hours of screen time if needed
I need 14hrs a day , with Spotify use , about an hour of maps , and very light you tube use , is this possible???
i bought iphone 13 mini.. i am not a heavy user.. just whatsapp, snapchat, instagram, some calls and a bit of youtube.. and occasional search
my battery lasts more than a day usually.. i charged my phone this morning (8am) and at 1.40 am the next day it is still 48 percent. pretty happy with this.
Are battery charging cases good or bad?
Respect fro this guy sitting 8 hours scrolling on these phones
Why do some you tubers complain of rubbish battery on both devises?
My iPhone mini 12 battery dies after 1 hour or 2 of watching vids and the fact that I charge it till 100% ,what can I do to fix it?
Спасибо благодарю 🙏🏼
Pretty interesting, but without a SIM card in either device it's not really indicative of real-world performance.
Remember that there’s a battery difference with a working SIM card vs no sim… the phone is constantly looking for a signal vs when it’s not. So… you’ll maybe technically get like 5hrs maybe of on screen time from mild to heavy use when on cellular data.
What about the iOS 16?
What is the batt health ? Of both the devices ?
Bruh🤦♂️
100% as shown
12 hours and just 1% drain in idle? That's insane, my phone would've drained by about 6-7% with the same conditions I'd say
There's no sim card attached
@@sabilza yes I know the conditions he presented
My phone drains about 10-20% during my 8 hour shift on airplane mode and i dont even use it at all
If y’all use straight talk the iPhone 12 mini is $499 brand new
The 12 mini looks brighter.
Also, my battery is currently only at 80% capacity.
Here are my reasons
1) there are leaks that show it will be the last mini apple makes (there won’t be a 14 mini) so you might as well get the best mini iPhone
2)it has twice the storage than the 12 mini if u compare their default prices
3) way better cameras like one of the guys said above
4) better battery life
the batter life is much bette than the XS itll get you through a day with regular use. and theres ways to charge on the go if youre going to be out all day and night.
Gosh amazing bro
And yah people telling 13mini is way better than 12mini but I guess the gap isn't that much
Oh bhai which type of iphone 📱 used in this video 7 hours for 12 mini😂
We should thank the countless Chinese for watching this.
shouldve added video recording and video calls and maybe even gps bcs those are what people usually do on daily basis
can you do a test using 5G instead of Wi-Fi
Display brightness is same in both phones or not ?
With background is that
I can confirm that the 12 mini doesn't last 7 hours at all, i had to charge it in the middle of my work day, making calls and video just drains it :(
Now I switched to the 12 pro max and it's heaven, very big phone though but the battery is really important for me
@@danjun7986 should have gone with 13pro which is better than 12pro max in battery life and smaller form factor too
Love the 12 mini a good battery extender case and your good to go
Perfect man. Perfect. Love you.
Mobile data or WiFi?
how the hell did you only drop like 3% from an hour on youtube? i have a brand new battery and it dropped about 20% after an hour
I think this Test ist fake
I have iphone 5c should I get 13 mini
iPhone users at 20% hurry where is my charger
Android users at 1% still 15 minutes left we can plug it afterwards
4:24 GO CHARGERS pun intended
Мой 12 мини стоить iOS 4.6, стоить ли обновлять до iOS 15, ???
the 12 mini looked like it was slightly on more brightness than the 13
is the battery acceptable for an on screen time of 5h a day? I want to keep the phone 3 years without charging it twice a day. this would be the first switch from android to ios.
How many watt charger to charge iphone
Every other reviewer bragging about the much improved battery life on the 13 mini?????? Buying a new phone for less than an hour better battery….no thanks
So why are everyone saying the 12 mini is bad? I think this test shows it is really good.
iPhone 13 mini pros and cons compared to the 12 mini
Pros:
- 44 minutes longer battery life in practical use accordance to this video test.
Cons:
-The notch is more fat. Much more annoying depending on the individual. And takes up more of the usage screen real estate.
- Weights more (7 grams more)
- Is more thick (0.25 mm more)
- No black colour choice, only midnight (dark bluish).
Could you do samsung s22+ vs iPhone 13 pro
