To those who are too busy to watch the keynotes. 5070 is not gonna provide raw performance like 4090. the 5070 is only matching the 4090 fps with 4x framegen from new dlss and ai upscaling. raw performance sits around 4070 ti. don't get confused. Nvidia is not selling us hardwares anymore, they trying to sell us softwares like framegen and upscaling. With all things aside, im only interested in the small size of the newer nvidia gpu.
For anyone who missed the update AMD said that they are looking at trying to implement FSR4 into the seven series cards it is by no means a closed case that it will not be on the 7 series cards and it's probably just not possible to put on the six series cards
What an insane keynote. The Inno3D leak was 100% accurate. So basically Framegen is getting an update for 40 series with higher performance + lower memory footprint + new 4x frame gen for 50 series. Both seem to be use a new algorithm and the input lag thing seems negated so this is likely frame extrapolation. The entire DLSS suite that's upscaler, ray reconstruction and DLAA is moving to a transformer architecture, reducing artifacts and increasing image clarity in motion. Available on ALL RTX GPUs. Reflix 2 is asynchronous reprojection a feature used in VR, but they've managed to remove all the drawbacks it seems. It also overcomes CPU bottleneck to an extent allowing for insanely low input lag. Going to be available for all RTX cards. Tons of RTX Neural rendering stuff but remains to be seen how it'll run on older stuff + how it works. AI and new RT functionality perf boosts with 50 series HW but not explained in detail. Also I believe NVIDIA's claims about the updated DLSS models. There's a reason why everything uses transformers and not CNNs. Transformer models blow CNNs out of the water. TL;DR: RIP AMD. As if catching up to NVIDIA wasn'y bad enough already NVIDIA has just removed the goalpost by another 2-3 years easily.
Prices aren’t as high as people expected especially the 5080 (at least) but idk how AMD missed an opportunity again. They didn’t even showcase the GPU’s to the general audience
If they didn't announce a price explain to me how they missed an opportunity? For instance if they announce the price next week and it's $450 would you say that they took the opportunity then?
They would definitely lose money on each card at that price but they may need to do that to claw back any market share they can. AMD is in a bad spot right now.
As an AMD GPU user for years, R9 280 -> Vega 64 -> now RX 7900 GRE, I'm so disappointed rn that I think I will go insane. 5 years have passed since 2020 and finally we have DLSS 2.0 competitor from AMD -> FSR 4. And NOW we are SPECULATING if RDNA3 can even run it for any perfomance gains. They are so far behind that it is not even funny. Where is Antilag, where are the denoisers for ray tracing, where is the path-tracing, where is the neural rendering feature from AMD??? I hope that UDNA will deliver all of that for next Xbox and Playstation. I think that when these consoles will release with UDNA arch, games will depend HEAVILY on AI -> graphics, realtime conversations with NPCs etc. RDNA archs might age like milk because of the lack of AI while the RTX 20 series might run better because of the much superior AI cores in it. Don't know how much VRAM these features will use though. Also A HUGE REDFLAG for the consumers that they didn't show anything about RDNA 4 at CES just to adjust the prices to Nvidia. I can't see any aggressive approach to the market from AMD that I heard earlier. These few generations sucked so much for everyone, in terms of pricing, bad optimization of games and underdeliverance of Nvidia's competition. Now we need to wait, it might be an amazing revolution for gaming with the AI if everyone will catchup with Nvidia -> UDNA, Celestial
To be honest 5070 is better than a 4090 if it has dlss 4 with framegen most of the people use dlss and that’s it, plus frame gen no body picked is the latency and reflex 2 presented another problem with prediction introducing unpredictability especially in FPS games, Nvidia present a solution of a problem to introduce another problem that its gonna get fixed in the next gen and charge you for it and makes it look like innovation.

AMD fumbled 2 generations in a row. I'd get the 9070 in a heartbeat if its at $300
I do hope it gets down to that price. They need to build a lot of volume for that though.
