    Great video. Thanks for sharing. The NTNDO1 arrival into HND and VGT is one of the few RNAV arrivals that doesn’t have speed restrictions, most do. And exactly those speed restrictions and the requirement to report that you’re unable to meet them are an issue with the Mustang because of it’s 250 kts MOA. That’s explained in one of the coming videos (flight up and down the NorCal bay area?), otherwise you might wanna have had it explained on this one.

    Rich i appreciate the way you fly man. a bunch of guys can’t explain things without over-complicating the hell out of it or stay calm and laid back like you in the cockpit, great example of great piloting, you make it look easy and that’s because it should be!

    I found your channel by searching for the Mustang. While I have a Commercial Instrument SEL, all the I flying that I do now is Flight Sims on my computer and the Flight1 Mustang has been my favorite for many years. It does not have working VNAV. I'll have to try this flight on it. I got the cheaper basic version of Foreflight to use while sim flying. No Geo position on approach charts with the cheapest version. You have some great videos and I appreciate you sharing them. Please keep them coming. Thanks.

      Try the RW Design Mustang in x-plane. It sure has its cons but you’ll still be impressed.

    I'm just a flight simmer but I'm trying to learn the CJ4 citation. I've learned a lot of IFR for my purpose but learning the departures Stars SIDS Etc was really helpful. that was a very quick flight on that citation Mustang from Long Beach to Henderson. you must have a lot of hours because you fly so many different aircraft and you look very very competent in fact ahead of the game. I hope you do more of these but I'm going to check your old videos and see if you've done some more. thank you

    This video is old so my comment might have been addressed later on. When give the instruction 'climb and maintaining (17,000)' you were absolved of the requirement to hit the altitude restrictions on the RNAV departure up to and including the assigned altitude (so 15,000 or above and 16000 or above were of no interest at that point). This is opposed to the earlier clearance having been 'maintain 11,000' in which case you are cleared to climb to that altitude but must comply with all restrictions up to and including.

    Is it changing from FLC (or FLCH) to pitch mode because its in capture mode while you change the Altitude setting. At least that's what I remember from the more basic GA aircrafts. Boeing or Airbus wouldn't do that, and IF it would, an Airbus gives you the so called 'triple Click' to warn you of an uncommanded mode change.
    As always, cool video.

    • @FlyingwithRich
      @FlyingwithRich  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s exactly right. A new altitude selected while the AP is capturing will result in Pitch Mode. Thanks for watching.

    Camera man needs to get a all axis gimbal for stability.
    Excellent perspective on what's going to be required for moving up in aviation size.

    Hi Rich, love your channel… what is your power setting when you set “climb power”?… thx… Joey

    • @FlyingwithRich
      @FlyingwithRich  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We set the power levers to the CLIMB detent and then the FADEC (computers) set the power based on conditions (temp, altitude) for the climb.
