Flying on a private jet is one of the strongest (and most expensive) drugs out there. One time, and you understand why those who can, do. I’ve been fortunate enough to fly on a number of different jets for work. Always puts a smile on your face.
And it really does make you more efficient, allowing you to spend a little more time concentrating on the job.
Okay Roman, start planning for retirement because your kid is taking over! It is amazing how well spoken, well educated, well informed, and genuinely curious Tommy is about everything, and this piece was just so fantastic and engaging it's mind blowing. Tommy, great job, keep it up, you are already starting to outshine your Dad, and this video review just proves that the sky is literally the limit for you and everything you are going to do in the future! Swear to god you could review a model train set and make it interesting! What's next? Interviewing a NASA administrator and doing a review on the latest space program projects? I wouldn't be surprised, and I would watch every minute of it! Hey Discovery Channel are you listening? You put this young guy in front of a camera anywhere in the world on any subject, and he is going to be s STAR!
Fascinating. Brian was a superb ambassador for his organisation and private aviation in general. Thanks guys.
Guys. This is freaking awesome!! I’ve been a car nerd my whole life so I love the channels for that, but I’m also a pilot and aviation geek so you’re starting to merge my two life’s passions and I could not be happier! It’s always so fun for me as a pilot to watch someone be introduced to the world of aviation, especially private aviation, and see the sheer joy and even shock it can bring to someone. Keep up the awesome work, and if I had my way, more aviation content please!!!
This is a great video! I am a pilot myself and very interested in Aviation as well. Brian did an amazing job explaining the aircraft, how it flies, and 135 operations to the viewers. I hope this "TFLAir" series can continue!
Just when I thought you couldn’t be any better, you do something like this, and totally redeem yourself. Sincerely, pilot, Jeep, Harley, Ram 2500 owner, and fan of your channel.
The Fast Lane Jet! That was fascinating Tommy!! More stuff like this would be interesting. Brian was very informative
Thanks for the TFL planes segment. Pretty cool stuff. It’s pretty crazy how for granted we take planes. They are so safe and reliable it’s a marvel of engineering.
This is one of the coolest videos I’ve seen in a while I would have NO Idea what it would be like to go in a private jet
Enjoyed that one since as ATC, I’m an aviation enthusiast… Ya’ll should find the Pilatus PC12 as well as the Pilatus Jet PC24 to review next because they are the “off-roaders” of the private/corporate plane world :)
As someone who loves Cars and is also a Pilot this really hits a sweet spot. TFL Flight sounds like a great sub-channel. Think its about time for Tommy to get his pilots license and team up with aircraft manufacture's (Cessna / Diamond?) to review airplanes.
You just lived one of my life goals! I want to fly in a Citation X one day. Its been my favorite private jet since I watched an interview with Michael Waltrip after a race in Fontana, CA he talked about hitching a ride on one and it taking like three and half to four hours to get back to Charlotte,NC. I’ve researched and studied them ever since. I even have FlightAware on my phone tracking when a Citation X leaves or lands at my nearest airport in the hopes I can catch a glimpse of one in the sky. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work.
Wow!! When I told you guys the other day I'd totally watch TFL Plane, I didn't think you'd crank out a video so quickly. 😁 Of course, I'm sure you were working on it before that, but even still, that's awesome!!
I'm glad it was Tommy who covered this.
Tommy is definitely at the top of the game here
Super cool. I'll be a student pilot soon and seeing stuff like this on one of my favorite car review channels is awesome!
Now this is cool! Should totally be a TFL Plane channel. Even though I’ll probably never fly in my life (other than a passenger on a 737 Southwest… lol), flight is an amazing thing! And how its done at different levels of sophistication is cool too!
Some years ago I flew several times accompanying executives on a company jet. It was amazing, and amazing to see into how convenient it is for some to travel.
I've flown on the X many times. In fact, I've flown on the X that holds speed records in the USA to this day. They're incredible. You did an amazing job on this video. You guys have to do the new Honda Jet, it's a light jet but OMG is it amazing. The difference between jets and cars is in the millions and millions, and the cost per hour to fly these aircraft is mind boggling. You have to be a very well off person or own a very successful business to own one of these types of aircraft. I'm neither, I just happen tohave a few friends who are both. LOL I'm your basic Hyundai Hybrod type of guy, but I have good taste and generous friends. LOL Props to the gentleman showing you everything, excellent job from both of you. Tommy you need one of these. ")
Thanks for reviewing this guys, was planning on trading my 2015 Sierra for one of these, but still on the fence
Great content. As an aviation enthusiast and a car enthusiast, I really appreciate this.
Very cool video content, Tommy! A refreshing change up from the usual automotive stuff.
When I worked for Menards Corporate, all of our travel to stores was done on Menards-owned aircraft. Back around 2009, they had some 18-seat Beechcraft prop planes and some smaller Cessna Citation Bravo jets (I know they have upgraded their fleet since then). On one trip to Indianapolis, we rode in a Bravo. When we returned to the airport to fly back to Wisconsin later that day, our Bravo had to go in for service, so we got to ride in John Menard's Citation X (N585M). What a great ride...super smooth and it was fast. Our normal trip from Indy to Eau Claire was over an hour, but the Citation X did it in a little over 45 minutes.
Super cool!
I’ve flown on a bunch of Lear jet’s doing medical trips. It’s a different experience flying on a private jet. And flying out of a small airport or a FBO at a large airport.
Thoroughly entertaining and educational. Tommy & Brian are naturals together.
Kudo's to you guys for doing part of this interview in the rain. Brian sounds like a really likeable guy with which to do business. Great video!
Man Tommy im so impressed with your level of professionalism and growth. To be completely honest, I only watch your tfl vids now. They are planned well and easy to follow. Kind of slowly falling off the other channels. Ill bet overall viewership is down since the wfh covid times are past us
I also find Tommy’s videos much more informative than Roman’s (or other TFL presenters). He is the Michael Corleone of the TFL family
@@ruggedland dude 100% right
The seats aren't anymore comfortable than 1st class on commercial but that's not why you go private. It's the MASSIVE time savings.
The lack of plebeians.
Love the plane content, keep it up guys!
Tommy did a great job on the interview. Inciteful questions. A little off topic but highly interesting and would like to see more of this kind of stuff. Thanks.
This video was super interesting and well made! There was one thing I wanted to know that was never mentioned...what did the jet smell like inside? Couldn't help but notice a little bit of moisture in there 😆
Leather if it's clean.
I think the little bit of moisture was because they left the door open in the rain. (Which, I presume, is not the normal procedure for a $$$$$$$$ piece of equipment.)
You all should do more aircraft videos. Being a prior miltary Aviator, its neat to see the civilian side.
At 2:46, Brian Kendrick states that the Rolls-Royce engine is built by the same people that build the cars. Not so. The two companies split in 1973 when the British government nationalized them. Rolls-Royce plc is a power systems company serving aerospace, marine, and energy customers. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is a separate entity that is owned by BMW and just makes cars.
I have taken private charter jets for work on a number of occasions. Basically if we had to move 5 or more employees, it was cheaper and faster to charter a jet than go by commercial airline.
We need more aviation content from you now!
More of these! This was a great look-in to private planes.
Love the series. You'll be getting a lot of traffic on these private jet experience reviews in the coming months. Guarateed.
I like this video, it is nice! You TFL guys were talking about jokingly starting TFL Boat Channel at an autoshow and now you have TFL Air Channel! You guys are so funny! I love all your videos even the not car ones. 😂
I used to work for a large corporation with a small fleet of corporate jets (Citation Xs to be exact) and yes, the hype of flying private can not be overstated. One call out, a private jet is much louder than flying in a commercial plane, and you do feel slightly cramped usually, especially compared to commercial first class. Though the flight itself is not better, the whole experience is what makes it... the speed, convenience, location of FBO airports compared to large airports. Its all a bit surreal if you are used to the post 911 airport experience in America.
My old office overlooked the TAG aviation building in Farnborough 🇬🇧, fabulous setup and as for the jets 😮.
You should have covered the cost per hour to run these planes too. Most people would be surprised they run from 3000/hr for a small Cirrus Vision Jet but quickly ramp up to t 5000 to 20k plus per hour. So cross country non stop takes a larger jet with range so you are looking at 50k coast to coast or 100k round trip.
This is what i kept waiting for in the video and it was never covered. Thanks!
This was an excellent video that imported knowledge I did not know about flying private, equite a few videos. Thank you for your great content!
Interesting to see the difference between private and commercial in duty cycles, life expectancy, and so on.
Check out all of the water in the interior isle of the aircraft at the six-minute mark. Time to break out the shop-vac and get that moisture up ASAP!
Great job in stepping out of the box, into a different transportation venue! TFLA = The Fast Lane Aircraft
First time flying private was on cj4, great planes and we have seen plenty of Xs, fast planes, huge engines. Last time flying private was on a Falcon 7, with seating for 16 that plane is ridiculous, loved lounging in the rear couch.
Loving this first instalment if TFL Air
Spent a number of years wrenching on the Citation X (and all of the other Citation aircraft)
It is impressive how much technology and capability is crammed into a relatively small plane. Cessna literally crammed all the systems and components you find on a narrow body passenger plane into the much smaller private jet.
The engines are Rolls-Royce AE3007s. Physically the same engine found on the Embraer 145 regional jet, but derated slightly for the much smaller Citation.
Keep up TFL Air! By this you could pull in a car and aviation enthusiast crossover audience like myself!
That is the muscle car of private jets. I got to inspect one a long time ago and I still have the literature. It can turn a billionaire into a millionaire quickly....
If you have to ask, you can't afford it
Would enjoy seeing you guys create an aviation channel. Great job! Thanks for sharing! Have a great day!
That’s cool i love these jets i can only dream to have one thanks Brian for explaining these beautiful birds
If you like the Citation X, you should check out the Embraer Phenom 300.
Thank You Sir for this presentation.
Bledsings Gratituded
What a neat experience. Great job presenting the info.
I use to service this plane and what he's NOT telling you is that the airfoil IS rated for mack 1 and they will hit that speed!
The pod on the top of the tail is purposely designed to create a sonic Shockwave and pull the nose up, reducing speed. The aircraft cannot exceed the speed of sound because of FAA regulations and structural requirements.
Imagine your hanger door is open and a Citation X taxies; turns; then points the exhaust at you then the Citation X experiences a stuck break condition; we had to hold on to all our wings fuselage etc. Damage was one ankle when a co worker came into contact with a fully loaded wing rack while we hung on for dear life as the pilot throttled through the "problem". lol
I’ve always liked this aircraft not sure if they are still making these but such a beautiful jet
I enjoyed this video and learned a thing or two about these private jets.👍
Journalism at its best! Nicely done.
Now for the bad news: this plane rents for $6500 per HOUR. If you’re not part of a fractional ownership and want to fly one way to Denver, you also have to pay for the plane’s flight back without you!
Regular people who get rides in these say wish they hadn’t: they’re forever spoiled. It’s just like being in the market for a Camry and test driving an S600 just for fun. Not the greatest of ideas.
Very cool. I would like to see you do this with the Pilatus PC-24.
Fantastic vid! I learned a lot and now I never want to travel commercial again! Another Scotch please!
Thank you for flying TFL Air
👏👏👏 LOVE THE SHOW ..... HAVE A BEAUTIFUL SATURDAY EVERYONE ✌️
Great video!
I did not expect to see a TFL video on my recommended page with a Cessna😂
I hope you get to fly and interview a company with Boeing Business Jets and Airbus Corporate Jets soon! 🎉 Maybe even G6s or the Falcon 7x. Thx for the video!
Fascinating! One of your coolest and most informative videos. Would enjoy seeing more coverage from you on the world of private aviation.
Loved this! Thank you for this video!
As someone that used to work on a fleet of private jets, all I can see is the sopping wet carpet inside the door during the interview in the cabin.
Surprising to see all that mold and dirt inside the drawers...for what is supposed to be a super expensive "luxury" aircraft. And that shiny wood panelling? Come on that design ethos was out the window in the last millenium. I dislike the aircraft that have been a bit run down, but love the story, and Tommy's great delivery. Keep it up guys!
This was a fascinating video!! Very, very cool!!
WOW...great video Tommy...!
What cool video. Informative and fun. I would love to fly private like that one day, skip security and all the rest, get on and go.
Palomar Airport, the only municipal airport in San Diego County with a staffed ARFF station on site….because of the size the corporate jets Qualcomm flies from there.
Great and informative interview.
new TFL channel... TFLJET lol!! that's super cool!
I always thought Rolls Royce aviation split from RR cars. BMW owns the RR car brand.
They are different companies.
Thank you for sharing here. Smile ☺
Glad you made this video
four minutes, that is incredible!
Crossing over into an aviation channel? I follow several that TH-cam their adventures. One just picked up the latest CJ apparently. Years ago a neighbor was a corporate pilot. He had to get certified on a whole new class of jets when the company went into China and started international flights.
Pretty cool video, im a lifelong aviation fan. You forgot to ask if it'll do a barrel roll 😄
Great video, well done.
FYI Rolls Royce who makes the engine, does not make the car. Company split about 60 years ago. Rolls Royce Cars is owned by BMW.
Did they TFL see my comment from IG? 😉 Either way I'm Cool. I think it's fascinating that the aircraft needs a longer runway when the fuel tanks are full.
Nice to showcase how the rich live, but i gotta hop in my $500 car and head to work now, lol. Its a cool video though.
Being able to come and go as you choose, when you choose… can save enough to buy one of these.
I did the calculations when I flew private aircraft for the government vs. airlines.
The time cost… is shocking… and that was before 9/11.
Great content. I’d rather watch this than any EV content! Great change of pace!
Tommy is livin the dream!
The Citation X is fast and private, but comfort wise it's not even close to First Class, modern First Class Seats are much more comfortable being convertible to a wide and flat bed, which is not possible in a Citation X. And of course, the First Class Suite in a Airbus A380 is also very private and much more comfortable because the big plane is much less affected by turbulences.
The man said they still build them. They do not still build citation x
Ah the citation X fastest thing between two Cessna service centers
These are what I work on for a living
That Citation X is one fast aircraft!
A bit loose with the speed there. Yes, it can go M.92, but that's the max speed. Cruise max it 525 knots.
I wanna see how that Citation does on the Ike Gauntlet. 😉
Speed and acceleration would be way ahead of the rest, brake applications could be zero with reverse thrust, however fuel efficiency would be atrocious
Thanks Tommy,
Great...would love to see more.
Nice watch man is that the mission to Saturn swatch? Haha I'm such a watch nerd 😂
I found it fitting when Brian mentioned one of their passengers designing covers for Swartch watches, considering what Tommy was wearing. And I’m liking seeing less of the Apple Watch on his wrist.
@@jamesbeaman6337I wow I didn't hear that part! Neat!
Love it! Can you do a nice boat next?!
