Cara, you have given me chills and tears...wonderful sharing today...I love how you summed it up and left it open for more ! I just can't wait to explore more with you! Looking forward to Sunday!
What an incredible exploration of the burial grounds, the brilliant design and architecture are stunning. It's fascinating to learn of the burial practices of the past. Thank you for wonderful informative narrative along the way 👍👍
Cara, you captivated me (again) with this video. I sat and watched and listened. The historic information you shared was amazing - as was the filming and drone work. It's never a chore to tune into your channel. Thank you for sharing your passion. 👌🇳🇱🙋♀🥝
What an amazing video - really enjoyed this one a lot, it's very well made - I enjoyed every second of it. Many thanks for sharing your work with us, it's very informative and entertaining at the same time. 🙂 Many greetings from Bangkok, Thomas
Neither had I, think it’s the only one in Britain. My thought is the lower one possible and earlier grave to the upper. Always interesting to see other countries burial graves. Love seeing yours 😊
Pretty amazing chambered cairns Getting inside is a treat to see Looks like the covered one will last a while Piling all the dry rocks would have taken some time Enjoyed the cairns explore Cheers 21
Hello lovely lady wow you really did visit some great places while in Scotland and it’s such a pleasure you get to show them us! Awesome! We certainly understand the way they have paved the way for us! Love ya ❤
Very interesting to see these well-kept and opened burial mounds. We have a lot of similar places in Japan too, but unfortunately most of them are abandoned and closed. Thank you for sharing. Have a nice weekend. 👍
This exploration of the Prehistoric Burial Mounds in Orkney is absolutely fascinating! The way you delved into their history and significance provided such deep insights into ancient cultures. The visuals were stunning and really brought the site to life. Thank you for sharing !
3,500 BC - it's quite incredible to think about the civilisation that made Orkney its home so long ago. More cultured then we imagine, I suspect! Tx for sharing
Thanks Cara - you packed a lot into that visit to Rousay. It is only a small island so wouldn’t imagine a large population but a lot of time & energy invested in building the burial chambers especially the last one! The burial chambers aligned with the Winter solstice remind me of Newgrange ( much smaller scale) in N.Ireland!
Yeah it is a small but stunning island but as you say not much of a population but a lot a burial mounds. While Orkney mainland is interesting the islands are even more. Wish I had More time to visit the other. 😊
A fascinating look at all the burial chambers/mounds, Cara. A shame the brock is becoming a victim of coastal erosion. It is unfortunate you weren't able to film inside the first mound but I guess they have good reason. It seemed overkill but the hanger over Maeshowe must be necessary to defend it from the elements. The viewing platform certainly provided a unique perspective but somehow I felt sealing it off in a building kind of killed off the spirituality of the place - did it feel like that when you were there?
Yeah the hanger was needed to protect it and i think your right, although that wasn't my worry. Well the walk way above was somewhat old, every time some one moved the whole thing moved. Not good for someone who doesn't really like heights. :-)
Incredible site Thanks for the coverage
Thank you

Nice information as always. Great place to visit. Wishing you a wonderful day.
Many thanks!
Cool to see burial mounds / passage graves from another country. I've never heard of a passage grave with a upper and lower level before.
Neither had I, think it’s the only one in Britain. My thought is the lower one possible and earlier grave to the upper. Always interesting to see other countries burial graves. Love seeing yours 😊

Ey up me duck.
Loved this one, fascinating place. Probably a bit disrespectful but I'd love to do a stealth camp in there. 👍🙂
That would be so good, plenty of area around there to do a stealth camp :-)
Hit that like button 👍👍
