    Real nice Randy. Smooth. Love the B72's. Best Brooks seat in my opinion. I liked the original tapered fork you had in it. Gave it a slick, agile look. Still, good how you finished it.

      Thanks. Yeah I hate they quit making the B72.

    very cool my man. a bike is never finished. and I too have a Brooks fetish.

      Thanks. Yes you're so right. The majority of bikes in my About This Bike series have changed since I made the videos about them. Hard to beat a Brooks. Thanks for watching.

    You, sir, have a pristine garage. I am well impressed.

      Pristine must be in the eye of the beholder lol. To me it's a mess. I guess it could be a lot worse. Thanks.

    Sorry I missed this one. That Straight Bar frame is my favorite one of all the bikes you have previewed. The thing I like best is the paint. I have a frame that’s in line for a build. I’m going to use your same technique and hope is turns out as well as this one. I like the touring bars best. The best looking overall build in my opinion, was the gold Western Flyer build with the touring bars. That was amazing. Keep putting your stylish touch on thou builds. Thanks again Randy.

      as for the paint... It didn't go as planned. I thought the fluorescent pink would stand out/pop against the dark blue but not the case. It just wasn't opaque enough but I was ok with how it turned out anyway. I've already tore this bike back down to make room for some new builds lol. Yeah I really liked the gold western flyer with the touring bars. Right now it has drop bars. I may reconfigure it again in the future. There should be a new build video coming out Sunday after next. Good luck with your paint and build. Do you post your bikes to social media anywhere? You can e-mail me pics at randy@locojoe.com if you like. Thanks Mark!

    I enjoyed watching the thought process of how you build. It's all about what you like and building it your way. Very cool, came out nice.

      Thanks!. That's really what I was after in the video. To show how I typically go about putting together a bike like this.

    I really like the detail on the rear hub, but I LOVE the brake cable housing. Great looking bike!

    Great build, waiting for the weather to warm up, so I can finish a few builds.

    • @Locojoe
      @Locojoe  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Curt. Yeah definitely easier and more enjoyable when the weather is warmer. I occasionally get out to the garage to tinker like this on the warmer days over the winter. I've got a space heater out there but you have to be right in front of it for it to do any good.

    Hi Randy. You did a nice job with this video/ build. I really enjoyed watching it come together. I especially liked that you shared your thought process as you decided what parts to choose. Keep up the inspiring Work. Mahalo.

      Thank you Jerry. Not the most polished video but the point was to show my typical build process and I'm glad that came across. Thanks for watching!

    🚴‍♂️🚴‍♂️🚴‍♂️ man i love these type of videos. Not everyone has the skillset to work on bikes. I would love to get into it but dont have the space to house all the parts and pieces needed. So i just enjoy riding them. Love the bike i was hoping you were going to throw some cruiser type handlebars without the front brake just using the coaster brake...

    • @Locojoe
      @Locojoe  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Timothy. I'm really not the most skilled at working on mechanical things or maybe even more so I don't have the patience but I do like to tinker. Been riding bikes nearly all my life but it wasn't till about 25 or so years ago I started working on them and I started with the old cruiser style bikes because of their simplicity. That kind of evolved and I am more comfortable now working with brakes, derailleurs etc... My first bikes I always built up as single speed coaster brake with cruiser bars but for my riding it's just more practical having multiple gears and 2 brakes so I'm starting to include them in more of my builds. We have a 2 car garage and only 1 car so that gives me half the garage for storing bikes and it's a little cramped. I have to move the car out to work on the bikes. I've got frames and parts stashed all over. The garage, attic and shed. As always thanks for watching and the comment.

    Dang, So close to having it right...all except the handlebars...should have gone with the BMX Bars....IMHO

    • @Locojoe
      @Locojoe  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did have bmx bars in a previous version of it as seen here th-cam.com/video/Z0tA7qgJUEs/w-d-xo.html
      I do think they look good and make for a comfortable position but anytime I use bmx bars I end up taking them off. I assume because I feel I can ride more efficiently with lower bars catching less wind.

    Cool build. I have a early 80s Schwinn bike with a 4stroke engine and ape hanger handlebars and a Red gas tank with leather hairpin bicycle seat. If you look on TH-cam under Rat rod bobber and scroll down you'll see it Check it out.

    like the paint job. blue with pink over it. I have a blue bike, might try the same.
    I like kick stands. Came out nice over all.

    • @Locojoe
      @Locojoe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's funny as the look I was after on the paint wasn't how it ended up. I thought the florescent pick paint would stand out and be really bright against the dark blue but it just wasn't opaque enough the way I was sponging it on so it gave it more of an old patina look. I too like kickstands but I'm thinking I may ride this at the MTB trail and just didn't want to risk it interfering. Thanks for the comment!

    • @ratoneJR
      @ratoneJR 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Locojoe Yeah, I do love the patina of the paint. I agree, kickstands are not always the right way to go.
      You da man. Thanks for posting.

    Where do you get your spare parts from ?? Do you have a website you use, is it just from old bikes, or could I find them at a hardware store ??

    • @Locojoe
      @Locojoe  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A variety of places. The used parts are from many years of just saving any bikes and parts I come across. Discarded trashed bikes I find I bring home and strip of parts. An annual bike swap meet that we have here I get parts.. A year or so ago a local bike shop closed and I bought some things at the auction. New parts I'll get from a local bike shop or Amazon. Thanks for watching.

    Two-speed power! I like it ;-) I'd smash that all day long. Thanks for posting.....

      I used to always have at least a couple bikes built up with the 2 speed kickbacks but for no particular reason at some point didn't have any and it's been a little while. Thanks for watching!
