    Tim, such an excellent tutorial
    my et4 could use starter clean up. haven't driven it for months and
    now won't start. all i hear is that clicking. thank you

      Thanks !!
      Before you go looking for the complicated things , make sure your battery has a full charge on it and it's in good shape , especially after sitting for a while that can cause all sorts of headache !

      oh i know. it was actually sitting on a battery tender so i think battery is all good
      now if i could only get my lazy butt out and start wrenching. lol
      also, my speedometer quit working, it looks like it's broken from the wheel side. is it just replacing the cable or is there a small piece in there that may have broken thanks in advance

    That seemed to go in like breeze. Suspiciously easy - I know I'm gonna have grief...

    Thanks Tim. Maybe a stupid question, but is there a ground wire to attach to the starter motor? I'm troubleshooting mine and am not finding a ground wire

    • @TimTuttle762
      @TimTuttle762  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope , this particular starter gets its ground through the chassis of the scooter .

    Tim Tuttle, You r a Great man!
    Tnx for the helpful vid, congrats on another success, and the reminder to put rag to prevent loss of cable nut !
    Question... I got no kicker on my 2012 S150ie... do you know of the mod to put a sheave on the crank fan for a rope start?
    Tnx !

    My Vespa will sometimes start and other times nothing happens when I try to turn on, I checked the battery and it has sufficient voltage, would the problem be my starter?

    • @TimTuttle762
      @TimTuttle762  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could be ! But , if absolutely nothing happens , no click of the relay , or Bendix on the starter solenoid , it could be the starter switch , relay , etc . don't neglect the cheap things in the circuit !
