    I'm glad to see a video that concentrates on 125cc bikes. American biker videos mostly ignore them and recommend 400 cc - 600 cc bikes for complete beginners. Not allowed in UK at least.

    I had a Keeyway Superlight. Nice comfy ride but under powered and heavy so painful on fast roads trying to drag it uphill at 50/55mph. Chopped it in for an MT-125 and have no regrets. Quick off the lights and can cruise at 70 all day hitting 80 easily on the flat. Love the MT

    I own Honda Grom 2017 model. Very easy to ride and lightweight. I am short but can put both my feet flat on the ground, which is less tiring in traffic lights / traffic jam than having only one foot dow (let alone just toes) Also, gives confidence to a nervous rider.
    I took Keeway cruiser on its maiden ride last summer. Absolutely loved it! I cannot think anything easier to ride than that and it is so comfortable I wouldn't mind going for a long ride.

      I've got Jap, Taiwanese, Chinese and British bikes.... They all have their pro's and cons. Parts supply is not a con for the chinese bikes, just look for the next model which shares the same parts xD
      As for reliability - One of my Taiwanese bikes and one of my chinese bikes have gone around the clock. A 2001 Kymco Hipster has been round the clock and a 2007 Pioneer Torro has been around the clock. Look after them and they'll see you grand (you don't see Chinese families going out buying a new bike every few years lol). Hopefully, the little (ha - 1860mm wheelbase) AJS EOS I've just picked up will see me through as many miles (almost as many miles as my goldwing saw - although that was a lot more expensive to buy, insure, run and repair/maintain)

I'm a woman and pick my friend up sometimes (both of us are around 60kg) and it's fine for city travelling, although lacking in power on country roads (90km/h is still easily reachable though). The only thing to take into account is braking power, you have to anticipate quite a lot considering the Cb125f has no brake assist and the added weight is reaaaally felt. If you're used to being on your own tough, you have to expect feeling like you're dragging yourself when you have a passenger.

      My bike has the same engine but is like 44kg lighter ;-) only downside is I have a very small fuel tank compared to this one and somehow it's even less than on the papers... And oh ye I like the Tuono but especially the Aprilia V4 so if I'd want an RSV4 or Tuono I'd differently go for that one, the bigger tyres is something that will help too and give you more balance etc in turns, that's what I think is bit of a disadvantage of 125cc bikes, alltho I don't drive big roads...

      Hi, it is all down to what you are after personally.
      Sit on the bike and makes sure it feel nice and comfortable when you're able to visit a dealers. It only has a small fuel tank of 5.6 litres but extremely good fuel economy.
      It does only has 4 gears, so top speeds wise it might struggle and be less comfortable compared to 125cc bikes with 5 or even 6 gears.

    Hey guys i´m just looking for my first bike and deceided to buy a 125 for learning to drive a bike. I was thinking about a Honda Shadow but all i actualy found on the interenet is hard used and the prices in Germany are rising since a new law allows to drive 125 ccm bikes with the driving license for a car. So i looked for newer motorcycles and actualy i´m a little bit in love with the Hyosung Aquila GV125s. What do you think about it and whats the reason for it not beeing in your top 10 list? Im just asking because im totaly new to motorcycles and all i know is that i want to have a comfortable bike like a cruiser. If you have any suggestion for me it would be pretty nice of you. Greetings from Germany
    Edit: Btw the Keenway Superlight looks very interesting. I will definatly take a look on it. Thank you for this video!

    • @BikeMatters
      @BikeMatters  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The list and its order is made up based on sales figures in the UK, so that's why the aquila isn't in the list.
      We haven't had a chance to test the Aquila yet so can't really comment (there are a few review videos out there though). It has a powerful V-twin liquid cooled 125cc motor with 14bhp so that set's it apart from most other custom 125s but is more expensive because of this.

  • @firepheonix_jr9309

    Is the cb125f good for motorways. Imma be starting riding bikes soon. And I'll need one for motorway travel working away. I need to figure out sports bike or cruiser too.

    • @BikeMatters
      @BikeMatters  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'd need a licence to ride on a motorway in the UK, a CBT (L-plates) is not sufficient.
      It is all down to personal preference, most 125s will get somewhere between 50-80 mph all depending on spec (15bhp liquid cools will be the fastest but tend to be a lot more money). But acceleration isn't that rapid.
      Personally, I would want something bigger than a 125cc for regular motorway journeys. but like I say that is only my opinion.

    Why measure petrol tanks in litres and give fuel usage in gallons?

    • @Winstern1984
      @Winstern1984 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Due to the markets in UK and European countries making fuel sold in litres. 4.5 litres to a gallon. The price is at moment around £1.30 a litre. It is the reverse in US as fuel is brought back to sold in gallons which is seen as cheaper. If any US viewers want to update on this information. They can.

    Gotta question the "uniqueness" of the Keeway Superlight - Kinroad wheels, Kymco Zing tank, Kymco Hipster/zing frame, Kymco engine, Jinlun/Pioneer crash bar, Kymco Hipster/Zing passenger footrests (otherwise unique to the kymco's...), 1 into 2 pipe like the Hipster,... otherwise, yeah it's unique :P
    Actually quite a nice bike to ride but I prefer the Zing to the Superlight, the Zing 2 to the Zing, and the Hipster to all of the above :P Also the claimed speed is way off for a stock Keeway, but some sprocket changes and you could reach it eventually lol.

      It will all depend on what is available to you at the time and budget. Most 125s are learner friendly - it is what they are designed for.
      Models like the Honda CB125F, Yamaha YS125 are probably the most well known 125s for being popular at training schools, but there are so many models out there to choose from.
