There were so many beautiful wooden homes in Woodbrook...Such a pity we are not interested in preserving the good past. Simply love your work...Feeling inspired to do the same...

Thank you so much. Some of the old houses are refurbished (with the original structure in tact) and used for businesses.

Nice seeing those old houses in my old neighbourhood. I grew up at the corner of Cornelio St. and Wrightson Road across from John Donaldson. Was in T&T Last year and the neighborhood has sure changed, all businesses my old home is now a grocery store called Banfield Enterprise. I took my son to see my old home. What a difference.

Its a great idea. I'm currently my grandfather's house...colonial period, built in the 30s'....but the cost is going and going, but we cant stop. I guess thats why many ppl knock them down (unfortunately). I just can't knock it down especially since my 93 yo grandfather inherited it from his father & uncle who were the Tacarigua train station master & orange grove estate manager. The house was the estate manager's home.

    Excellent. Thank you.
Trinidad has allowed their cultural beauty in architecture to slip through their finger. They have nothing in Trinidad to compare with these structural art . Yet they allow these beautiful houses to decay and or loose it original unique form. These houses are a national treasure, not those awful Chinese construction. Consecutive individuals in govt are so busy stealing money, they take no pride in the cultural features which can keep Trinidad a place of architectural interest in the Carribean and preserve it for posterity .

      Happy Sunday 🌺🌺🌺
It's great to know that there are other people who appreciate these old buildings. There are many in woodbrook and the owners have maintained the original structure. I found some awesome ones in St. Joseph. I also did a video on those too. Did you see it?

These houses were good for their day, but today it will be a better idea to make better, more efficient use of real estate by erecting high-rises with miles of lush vegetation in between. There need to be widespread use of solar-cells & rechargeable batteries. High mountain & hill tops need to be given the priority of water tower construction. And just like the U.S., Canada, U.K, & other countries, illegal immigrants need to be tracked down & deported. Especially when they're not contributing to the betterment of the country.
