As for the PDF patterns. I will try to make and download within 1-2 weeks, so subscribe to the channel and stay tuned. Once again I duplicate the link with the Informative file about tools and materials for shoes bit.ly/36bIRfI I am waiting for criticism and feedback on the video.
Hello and thank you for the free pattern for this boot! I am on part 2. Can I use acetone on the heel counter instead of ethyl acetate. I see acetate sold on etsy but the smaller bottles come from England, and I want to use something I can get at my local hardware store. Thank you so much.
Amazing workmanship! This would be a very ambitious project even with the supervision of a teacher. So much work! I have hopes of making very simple little kid shoes with a thick wool insole and a stacked leather heel. So thankful you are sharing your knowledge!
Many children at school ask why do we have to learn mathematics and geometry as they are not natural subjects, as plants and trees and living creatures, and we do not communicate with them, as we do with languages! If only all children see this video to appreciate that when one transforms a two-dimensional flat area, as a piece of flat leather shaped into a pair of boots, one can only do it by folding it, using the right geometry. Perhaps we should start teaching children the relations between straight lines, area, and volume by showing them how a pair of boots is shaped into its complex contours. Congratulations for such shaping, Even the sacrificial nails shown at 16:57 have a reason for their own pattern of convenience as they cannot be radial to the periphery for a good reason to accommodate the folds at the toe. Leather is not a very kind material to shape in such a complex manner. Well done Sir.
Thank you so much. You have a very fundamental approach to mathematics and geometry. I agree that children and many adults do not understand that our entire civilization consists of mathematics and geometry. I think that children really need real examples of the influence of mathematics and geometry on things like: clothes, shoes, architecture, cars, computers, etc.
Some of the materials are not easily available to me, can I use leather instead of shoe cardboard? And do I really need the white stuff for the heel and toes?
You can use leather, only use thicker. You don't need to use white things, but the shape of the shoe will look bad. Visit Etsy website and search on request toe puff . You will find many offers
Average price is $ 35, plus shipping is about $ 30- $ 35, depending on the country. I saw shoe last on ETSY. Also I will plan to add shoe last to my store

What is the second layer in the shoe other than the skin? This is the interior in gray
This is a woolen fabric lining
