24 mins in and I was wondering why I was so enjoying this interview when I realised Lewis hasn't barely interrupted or talked over Marisa at all, and the flow and content is fantastic as a result. A lesson for interviewers everywhere, guide intelligently and get out of the way!

Agree. Lewis is great at never doing this, although some people that do this are just excited to engage. I myself have adhd and sometimes accidentally do this. Sort of like Mel robbins. She does it. But she’s got a heart of gold and just passionate too ✨

Such a great interview! Some takeaways:
*If symptom has a role, function, purpose or intention, it doesn't go away.
*You can't eat, drink, shop or think your feelings. Feel the feeling until it doesn't have to be felt anymore.
*Be aware of what you are feeling. Say out loud "I was hurt when/by"
*Repeat to yourself how would a perfect parent/teacher praise you.
*"If you're not used to praise, you'll reject it. If you're used to criticism, you'll add it in."
*Thank you for sharing. Could you please repeat this again slowly? Are you trying to make me feel bad about myself? I'm not letting this in. You have the most criticism reserved for yourself.
    *I'm choosing to...
    *Password "I'm enough"
    *Positive wording

Another fantastic interview. I often listen to Marisa's talks, and her techniques are truly life-changing.
My favourite quotes from this video:

    3. "Your body keeps score"

I have always exercised my right to remove myself from negative environments without explaining my absence. However, close family members would call and tell me that others (especially the caller) said that “You (I) think you’re better than everyone else.” Over the years, I sabotaged my success because I didn’t want to be rejected for being myself; for enjoying myself. I participated in Marissa’s Masterclass session 11 October 2018. The class, along with the work I’ve done over the past 6 years have FREED me from the Fear of Rejection that imprisoned me!!

Great Interview...The Bible does tell us to take every thought captive and bring it into submission to Christ - and if it is good, pure and praiseworthy think upon these things. What you are talking about is very Biblical. There is another that says to guard your heart, of out of it flows the river of life. What you are teaching is so needed as part of our school curriculum, not as a once off workshop. This was GREAT! Thank you!

This is a very powerful message and I can only agree.
My therapist explained to me: This world is poisonous for people like me that has a very strong precondition for empathy. All the feelings and signals of other people go right through my skin and touch me. She taught me that it isn't a curse, it is a talent that I have got, but I have to rationalize the feelings I have to protect myself. I have to change the way I think about my feelings. Are they something that come from others? Do I adapt to feelings of the people around me? Are the feelings just a reaction of a memory that has nothing to do with the current situation? I can't stop myself from feeling, but I can change the way that I look at them.
I ask myself: Is it appropriate to be angry or sad in that situation? If yes, then I have to address that someone hurt me or made me sad. Is it an overreaction? Then tell your brain that this is not the right situation to feel like that. (It is important to know that bad feelings have a right to be there, because you don't always overreact. Appropriate feelings have a right to exist.)

Reading "what science and god established" makes a very odd sentence... Kinda like saying: "what concrete bricks and fairy dust established.." I.o.w.: There is no scientific proof for a deity; not your Abrahamic God, not for Jaweh, Allah, Thor, Krishna or Zeus or the many Gods people have come up with. But the ways of the Universe do hold the ultimate wisdom, yes. Without the unnecessary doctrine.

Marisa Peer you are such a beautiful inspiration. Great questions Lewis, fabulous interview ❤️
I remember someone criticised me in a social situation. They said out loud (very publicly), “I don’t like you”. I knew it was because they were competing with me.
I piped up in a really chirpy voice “well I don’t like myself sometimes either”. And everyone burst out laughing... she wasn’t expecting that! We’re good friends now, years later!
Another time someone was a bit rude to me... I just paid them a big compliment (genuine), it really knocked them off their feet. Was hilarious, they didn’t know what to do or say! They then retracted their insult and replaced it with a compliment and told me they were just having a bad day 😂
It’s fun to play with when you realise nothing is ever personal, we live in a world of projection!

Wow, she is spot-on, she's basically teaching the universal law of attraction without ever using that term because people think that's too woo-woo anyway. It's astounding to see so many thumbs down just because of self-love talk, it's like disagreeing with the song of a bird

Watched Marisa last night on Mindvalley online. Very positive 35 day masterclass. I viewed a similar review of books of the bible that were lost when translated. We make our world happen for what we internalize. Heal thyself is happening by thinking positive envisioning positive, living it to make it happen. Prosperous future is in positive thinking and feeling positive about thyself.

Labeling or saying people are a certain way creates the thought which then feeds the thought which becomes the wolf. Wow this is so powerful beautiful and amazing! I Can use so many things she stated as tools in my healing practice!

If you had someone tell you "You are enough" that would be so amazing.
So if you tell yourself that, it's more amazing. I will tell myself that.
But I would like to say that if I ever find love I would fall for them so hard if they told me they loved me AND that I was enough. That is so simple and oh so powerful.

You are a great interviewer. Therapists tend to complain rather than take action. That is why productivity expectations continue to rise in a "we need more." world. I guess it is up to me to speak to the APTA about productivity guidelines including insisting two 10 minutes breaks are taken out of productivity demands because (it is Federal Law). I wasn't enough for physical therapy anymore but I am enough for me. Very deep. Marisa is awesome. She is fulfilled because she understands she is enough. Our commodity driven world is going to be very unhappy with I am enough. This is a marvelous video because if you really feel "I am enough" it becomes your mantra... Very powerful. I am better for watching this. Thank you and Blessings to you both.

I really needed to hear this. She has made me realise so much about who I am and the events I hold on to from my upbringing, but also recent events. All the negative thoughts and emotions that I carry with me because of all of these experiences have held me back from believeing I am good enough, I am worthy of having a life and existing in this World, what others do, or think of me is not who I am. I deserve happiness and I deserve to love who I am. These people and experiences will have not killed me and recent events won't either! Thank you! :)

    • @elisabethbell630

For me, everything Marisa says and teaches are memorable. One of my favorites is that the brain isn't selective, it takes in everything and believes what you tell it. So tell yourself good beliefs. Make your beliefs amazing. And you will end up experiencing your beliefs in your life. Our beliefs translate into our feelings which resonates into the rest of our lives. Our body and health are effected by the words we speak and our beliefs too. And I love where Lewis says in response to Marisa, "Powerful." To which she responds in turn, "And true." Understanding the brain is simple. The teeny adjustments and tweaks have massive, phenomenal results. And I absolutely love that. She is AMAZING. And so are you, Lewis. Thank you for all that you do!
