- Well, here it is - my 'proof of concept' short! I'm so incredibly proud of the story the team was able to create and capture... and overwhelmed and excited that it is but the first step towards something much bigger...

I was a patient of a home health nurse in Australia about 30 years ago. Without her & the team of doctors, I wouldn’t be here.
The film’s a sensitive, evocative piece & I’m agog with nerves & suspense as I watch it. The impressive exhaustion & even the settled fury the characters demonstrate lights up the nerves! Brilliant.
Man, Chris, this is wonderful work. I was hooked from start to finish and wanted an entire feature-length film.
The performances were strong. The narrative with the theme of the exorbitant costs of the medical system in the USA and the resulting consequence of stress on families, and the overworked nature and high anxiety of people in the system was outstandingly conveyed. The most striking thing for me was the technical work that enhanced the story i.e the awesome cinematography, the tight editing and pacing, and the sublime sound design which legit gave me anxiety.
I've been a fan of your reviews on TH-cam for so long and it's awesome to see you go from there to here. I can't wait to see what you and your team can do in longer projects.

Wow this is amazing! The talent did a great job expressing the emotions and the gaffer and cinematographer did a great job with the lighting and the set mood. Excited for the real thing! See you Monday Proffeser! - Trey

That was really slick. Great direction and creative choices to take something that could be banal and uninteresting and elevating it. Simply having the AC off and fans everywhere is a really great idea to both sell the situation in subtext, while making the scene more interesting than it had to be.
Strong direction across the board, both technically and artistically. Very good work, Chris!
I clicked on this, not really willing to commit time to watching it. So... Not the best way to go into a viewing experience, but something about it captured my attention so quickly. 12 minutes flew right by. This is a fantastically well done short. It grabbed me and took me along for a ride. A ride that feels so intentional in its execution, that i have no doubt i felt exactly how you wanted me to when watching it. Awesome job to Chris and everyone involved.

Chris! Great to see you back on TH-cam. Riveting short, Though for a couple minutes we wondered if there was about to be a sudden comedic twist given the release date. Not so much it seems, but we loved it. Hope to see more of you again here!

Chris this is amazing. I work in the field but I am not a nurse and my job is not nearly this tough but you have captured something here. I especially love how the guy seems to soften a little when he knows he pushed to hard that is such a common thing. Patients sometimes push you so hard and then the next day they are like another person and apologize for how the behaved before. Again amazing.

Holy crap bro this is incredible work. You captured the overwhelming anxiety so perfectly. So relatable. I particularly liked how you used sound. That must have been a bear to mix properly. Impressive work. Based on all the awards on the thumbnail it looks like you’re being properly recognized too which is so exciting!

I've been a longtime fan of your movie reviews. You are insightful, intelligent, and have a great sense for art. This video had me intrigued (especially since I'm a nurse) and interested the whole time. I loved the visceral nature of the close camera work and the way that the stressors being experienced by the characters were palpable and suffocating (in a good way, I think. Pretty sure this is what you were aiming for). And the acting was great.
My only problem is that I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, and I can't figure out what the takeaway is. Is this just a snippet of this nurse's thankless life? Are we to understand that he forgot the sildenafil and therefore caused the other patient to get sick (though Sildenafil is used for pulmonary hypertension, and her blood pressure was already below 100 systolic, so withholding that med may have been indicated)?
I just can't help but feel like this is a really good 10 minute preview of a 30 minute short film. I hope you keep at it because you clearly have no shortage of talent!

And I'm actually glad that the whole thing feels unresolved, because that's the intention :) Not only is a lack of resolution so often true to those working in high stress jobs - they just keep going and going and going...
...this short film is also a _'proof of concept'_ In other words, there is a _feature length story_ that I'm currently in preproduction on, that this short film is designed to "set up".
