    I honestly loved the double quit. Of course I'd hate if it happened every season, but Hannah's entire first episode was entertaining af and Sean was just a non-factor that saved more interesting players. And both contributed to the amazing Lulu storyline.

    Easily the biggest issue for me is too many white collar jobs. Basically 75% of every new era cast is either lawyers, doctors, scientists, etc. Sabiyah was basically the only blue collar this season.

      Yeah. And with the way new Survivor is playing out, I wouldn't have been surprised to learn that she was actually a doctoral student paying her way by driving trucks. The show excelled by putting together people who should not spend time with each other on the same beach. Now, there's diversity of colors, but everyone is the same.

      Their jobs have nothing to do with gameplay. It shouldn't matter what they do. Mike White was the best or 2nd best of his season and in my opinion, he should have won. And he's a rich Hollywood guy who makes some of the most popular shows.

    Happy birthday, Bandit! I love your Survivor commentary and very often find myself agreeing with a lot of what you have to say. I agree with most of your points here, too, especially on the need for more kinds of diversity on the cast. I wonder if not enough 40+ people are applying anymore?
    I can only hope that Survivor 46 won't have QUITE as many extraneous twists as 45 did. Here, it felt like a lot of stuff was added just because they had extra airtime to fill (e.g. the pre-auction scramble for money, 3 people losing their votes at final 9, Emily being sent on that journey at final 7). For 46 they werent sure if they would have 60 or 90 minutes, which hopefully means they dialed back the twists to a more reasonable level. We can hope!!!

    The biggest problem in the new era in general is *CASTING*
    Of course I do not mean the WHOLE cast. But for the most part the majority of the cast of modern era seasons are complete garbage. It has gotten so diverse to the point where they are actually even casting people who don't even want to be there.

    This season is going to age seriously poorly imo, post final 7, there’s nobody really left to root for and Jakes moves constantly failing to work is really unfun on a rewatch
    Also almost every twist sucked this time, SweatvSavvy was impossible, the tile game in episode 2 was okay but those islands essentially force players like Drew to reveal their entire advantage, the bs auction twists that effectively ruined it, 3 players losing their votes at final 9, random final 7 Island where Emily got to risk her vote on the unbalanced sweat v savvy task

      I rooted for the Reba 4 because they kept thir shit together almost until the end, which is almost ungear of in modern survivor of "big moves." If we need to pick between casting handicapped people and reducing the size/difficulty/variety of challenges on Survivor, I'm sorry but I pick keeping the challenges and raising the casting standards. Survivor, at its very core, is supposed to be difficult. If you come in with a starting handicap, it SHOULD be more difficult for you.
    I'm pretty sure we could point to a lot of challenges that people could point at in the past as being close to impossible if you're too short, too tall, or too unfit. If we start lowering the bar because we want to keep expanding the casting, then we'll be watching survivor junior in no time.

    • @StripesZB

      Both The Amazing Race and Big Brother just ended their seasons with deaf contestants making it to the finale. They don't need the whole show to be dumbed down to succeed.

    • @BanditSurvivorContent
      @BanditSurvivorContent  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not making the point that we should get rid of people with impairments/disabilities and I think you even know that. I'm not even in the Big Brother community and I even know recently there was a deaf contestant that competed. A lot of people were outraged production had to ask him multiple times to leave a room for example comparative to an actual method that would make it easier for him to understand things. By next point is you say if you're "starting handicapped it SHOULD be more difficult for you" why? Why should Tommy not be able to find an idol simply because he's colorblind? Why did Noelle have to be trapped into a net until other individuals untangled her and pulled her out? Pegleg from Survivor UK (another amputee) has a really good post about the challenges for amputees on Survivor I encourage you to check out. You can still have size/variety/difficulty with people that have a disability or impairment and I'd actually argue production need to be MORE creative in challenge/twist design to account for everyone ensuring they have a level playing field thus making them potentially explore an avenue they never considered prior.
      Hopefully this response makes sense and you understand the points I am raising 😊

    • @StripesZB
      @StripesZB ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BanditSurvivorContent It does make sense, but I'm coming from the other side. I don't watch Survivor or shows like that to see people being catered to. When someone has a handicap, what is cathartic is watching them overcome it, or compensate for it through other means.
      Tommy won his season because whatever happened with that advantage, he found a way to make it through. Noelle couldn't traverse the net? Big deal, she made up for it by being a great social player. Noelle was killing it on Survivor, that net thing was just a minor comma in her bio. Their success is magnified by the obstacles they conquered.
      In Big Brother, Matt made up for the fact that he was deaf with an absolute flawless social and lying game. People gave him additional props in the jury because he was coming in with a clear disadvantage.
      Nate Hansen from ANW suffers from Growth Hormone Deficiency, giving him a huge disadvantage versus other, taller male contestants. He is an iconic ninja because of how successful he is despite of his condition.
      When we twist the game around to accommodate people with disabilities, we are actually robbing them of a journey of success and overcoming. Some amount of leveling the playing field is necessary, but it's an infinite quest.
      Either way, I enjoy this conversation. :)

Yes they care about animals with cute faces, but they don't appreciate the massive number of insects that are wiped out to clear land for their crops. The sheer volume of insects that are killed for their crops is staggering. But they don't seem to mind about that. Also, the animals like mice, shrews, voles and other small mammals that have to be killed to maintain their crops, they don't seem to care about their deaths.
      And the fact that plants feel pain, yet they have no qualms murdering them. Hypocrites.

    • @Evelyn-nz4mp
      @Evelyn-nz4mp ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@PatstarDeluxeAs of now, we need to protect plants in order to feed people. However, the number of animal deaths due to plant agriculture has been widely contested. Larger animals, like mice, often leave when they hear machinery approaching. As for insects from pesticides, most vegans advocate for the advancement of vertical / indoor farming to avoid this. But as of now, a certain amount of death is unavoidable, and until people are able to conduct photosynthesis to gain energy, then we have to consume something. And about plants feeling pain, this is not supported by science. Plants don’t have nervous systems, brains, or any other way of feeling pain. They’re intelligent, but they’re not sentient. If you’re referring to the “tomatoes scream when they’re picked” study, this was sensationalized by the media and misinterpreted. Tomatoes release high pitched gases when they’re picked that resemble the sound of screams, but the authors of the study never said they feel pain.
      But let’s say plants do feel pain, and the crop death numbers are accurate. Animals eat far more plants and are responsible for the vast majority of plant agriculture. If you are worried about plant death and crop death, a vegan diet requires far less plants than an omnivore diet.
      Finally, the death of some doesn’t justify needless death. Our species is killing 100 billion animals a year, and often involves immense suffering before their death at a young age. It’s wrong to support it when we can be healthy with a vegan diet. It requires less water, plants, land, and doesn’t require needless death. Some amount of death is inevitable, but that shouldn’t give us the green light to exploit and abuse animals whenever we want

    • @PatstarDeluxe
      @PatstarDeluxe ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Evelyn-nz4mp I'll grant you that the plants feel pain may be over hyped... but everything else you've said is pure cope. you're still murdering animals for your lifestyle but you either consistently down play it or just brush it aside. Again, it's extremely hypocritical.

    • @Evelyn-nz4mp
      @Evelyn-nz4mp ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PatstarDeluxe I don’t think it’s hypocritical. I acknowledge that some beings have to die to feed the human race given our current farming practices. However, vegans want to reduce suffering as much as practically possible. Vegans have to eat something, so they choose the option that results in the least amount of death and suffering. The crop deaths your describing happens in higher amounts on an omnivore diet because you need to grow much more plants to feed animals until they’re slaughtered than just eating the plants directly. For example, 80% of deforestation in the Amazon is to grow soy that’s used to feed animals in animal agriculture. It’s a misconception that eating animals reduces the amount of plants you’re using (you can imagine how much a huge cow or pig eats compared to us). And eventually as more people start advocating for ethical and sustainable farming, the less things like pesticide will be needed because we’ll transition to vertical farming.
      But just because we haven’t found a way to cause no deaths to eat, doesn’t mean that we should not care about preventing death when we can. A vegan diet results in less death and suffering overall.

    The hole Dee thing just completely playing Austin with his feelings and her portrayal of herself as a loyal and genuine person only to win the game by using her deceit to manipulate Austin and tell the jury it was strategy and then to still have the gull to say that there feelings where real in the aftershow and then turn around sleep with Wendell while his wife was at home with there baby while Dee knew full well they had a child just completely ruins the season for me and leaves a taste of molding toe fungi in my mouth
