Great interview! In my opinion, Tony's point of view on Season 40 is the only view that matters. Winners at War was the Tony show! Phenomenal performance, and fun to see play out on screen.
I think the edge was necessary this season just because it would be really disappointing to see great players like Rob and Parvati get voted out pre-merge and not ever see them again, but I'm glad it won't be back for a while.

We also could’ve used Stephen to remind Rob about things he forgot, like the scene where Tony was in the spy bunker at swapped Dakal. That was one of the most memorable scenes of the entire tribeswap
He’s the best US player hands down. King George of Australian Survivor is right there too, but since he’s only gotten 2nd and 4th place Tony’s still ahead 😊
I'm torn between hoping Tony quits the police because I don't want him hurt in any way - but I also think that America needs awesome guys like this as police officers too. Sigh.
The little things he did like look down when people talked to him to seem weak and laying low the first half of the game when he had the urge to play hard is such great gameplay. Definitely deserves the GOAT title.
I'm at the point where he's talking about playing chess with the young lad and this just goes to show that he put his mind 100,000% into this game with disregard for the monetary prize until the game is over. Much respect for playing so hard for 39 DAYS AND NIGHTS! A well deserved win on an epic season of winners!
Yep. I can see why they put the edge in for this season (because it prevented some of the personalities we've been waiting so long to see from being wiped from our screens early, which would have happened with this bootlist). But the way it ended up being edited proves we need longer episodes (Which, to be fair, is on CBS, not the show itself)
It is the plot twist like in the movie that he made in Survivor WAW that got me. It is like the crazy person that you won't pay attention to in the movie that in the end is the mastermind.
Tony made this season great. Part of me wishes Wendell went against Michelle to see if we would have had Tony-Sarah-Wendell-Jeremy-Nick block late game. But what an awesome player. CBS needs to publish this season with an extra 100 hours or so ha so much left out
I wish they filmed Ponderosa when the final 3 got there. If just for this season since it's such a celebratory season. 19 out of 20 people WERE AT PONDEROSA! Think about that party! Michele is an insane wine lover so you know she got drunk. Most of those people never experienced Ponderosa either so it would have been extremely interesting. Survivor could make one epic season DVD with this season by putting a ton of extra content on it and I wish this was one of them.
Thank goodness Tony wanted a pool 😂 I’m also glad he’s closer with my faves, Sarah and Sandra :) and that they gave Sandra the recognition she deserves re being the person closest to voting out Tony. If only Denise were less selfish re wanting to be the queenslayer... @28:40

@@realitierney not even close actually. 2 wins. 0 wins. Good player but closer to Russell hantz than tony
I'm torn between hoping Tony quits the police because I don't want him hurt in any way - but I also think that America needs awesome guys like this as police officers too. Sigh.
maggie198333 is he going to retire? I’ve been searching and searching and I cannot find out
At this point, I don’t see Tony working as a cop again. He got 2 million. He is currently a landlord (i think based on his post interview)
I just rubbed my fingers all over my screen cuz I thought your hair picture was an actual hair on my screen.. thx.. lol!
What a legend. Tony, the King of Survivor!
tony is so cute. and handsome.
He said this well about Ben. I think Ben never had friends and now when he got them he couldnt play survivor
The best champ !!!! The best who ever played the game and WON IT ! Thank god !!!! We love u Tony ❤️
Insane level of gameplay from Tony. Hands down the GOAT.
The little things he did like look down when people talked to him to seem weak and laying low the first half of the game when he had the urge to play hard is such great gameplay. Definitely deserves the GOAT title.
Absolutely amazing how many truth bombs Tony drops about both life and Survivor in this interview.
The annual rewatch still hits.
Tony is brilliant. Greatest survivor ever.
Most deserving winner IMO idk if anyone has ever played as hard as he had.
God the part where he explained about the psychological. This guy is just next level
Tony is the Best ever.
TONY IS AMAZING
Lol he calls his wife Baby Cakes 😂 cute man
I cant believe we didnt see any of this because the edge got heaps of screen time
Yep. I can see why they put the edge in for this season (because it prevented some of the personalities we've been waiting so long to see from being wiped from our screens early, which would have happened with this bootlist). But the way it ended up being edited proves we need longer episodes (Which, to be fair, is on CBS, not the show itself)
Tony just puts in more work than everybody else and it pays off
His take on tokens was spot on.
I want cops R us on amazing race!!!
Can't wait to watch this!!!
CBS needs to publish this season with an extra 100 hours or so ha so much left out
Ya that would have been awesome, but since they were perceived as a couple alot of the jury would probably vote for the 3rd option in that instance!
Hot take: There will NEVER be a better player than tony Vlachos
He just outworks everyone. Nothing gets passed him. Thinking the game 24/7.
When he was talking about how he would act paranoid with change his perception to everyone except Sarah, wish he said that during FTC
This made my day!!!!!!
After listen to this, I finally understand now why Jeremy trust Tony so much and looks so hurt at FTC. They never really show their bond in TV much.
How'd Tony get his head so shiny
Shoe polish
Most bald guys just have shiny heads, my dad does 😂
I wish they filmed Ponderosa when the final 3 got there.
Excellent content. Unbelievable details. Loved it
Tony deserves to have his own (even bigger) statue alongside Sandra and Rob’s.
Him and Sarah should for island of the Idols II
Omg!! So excited. He is the best ❤️❤️❤️
Tony was in the middle of building his house? I guess he really is a construction worker
Nice insight on how powerful Sophie was
The GOAT repping Winchele
Before I watch this. I hope Rob does a Tony impersonation and see who sounds best. They can also talk in Llama together.
On his Cagayan deep dive Stephen asked him to and he said no haha😂
Yay finally finished watching this 3 hr. interview w/ one of my fav survivor players. Awesome job guys.
Yk what.. five minutes in & I’ll admit this guy is pretty down to earth.
Humble champion.
I've waited a long time for this! 😁 I wish Stephen was there too
I like the point that Michele deserved votes
Thank goodness Tony wanted a pool 😂 I’m also glad he’s closer with my faves, Sarah and Sandra :) and that they gave Sandra the recognition she deserves re being the person closest to voting out Tony. If only Denise were less selfish re wanting to be the queenslayer... @28:40
Lmao... He called Jermery out for plagiarism, the meat shield strategy. He's the truly G. O. A. T of survivor.
Tony’s mentality is so wholesome
Man, I wish we could've seen more of the Tony/Nick alliance!
Preseason discussion of Survivor 40 I was listening to another podcast when they stated that an awesome Alliance would have been the two cops the firefighter and the soldier. Too bad the soldier didn't like the firefighter. Tony has great insight to what people want to see on TV
“Saaaaaaahhhhndraah and Saaaaaaahraah” 🦈🦈🦈 this is great thank you
