What I love about Remi's songs is not only are they extremely catchy, but they have such a high level of musicality, phrasing, and layered production that somehow feels both familiar and unexpected. There is so much detail to unpack, so much personality, silliness, complexity, soulfulness, charisma and all out originality that make her music so infectious and transcendent. Remi is, undeniably, a pure pop genius.

That “oomf” is called a funk groove. Take some walking funk bass lines, add a syncopated kick patter or 4 on the floor (disco beat) and you’ll have a song that’s hard not to love. Then Remi and her crew go above and beyond with the production and vocal layering and it’s basically a recipe for bangers.

I just turned 50 guys and I heard her song Liz in a movie recently. How refreshing to hear the old school funky flavour she brings to the modern style of hers. This one is only her second song I’m hearing and she’s definately becoming a favourite. It even has a guitar solo in it. She’s not scared to be different. Love it.
Those Julian Casablancas + the Voidz vibes at the end with the electric guitar solo were so peppery yet so sublimely melted into the flavors of this amazing ode to being the villain. Villains are always better than the heroes imo. Remi Wolf makes me feel the way I did when I was a kid. Free, unbound, limitless, and whatever it is that resembles the happiness that only exists before the binds of the world blind your eyes to the beauty that abounds when there are no real rules to behold us.
