      @razkable 4 ปีที่แล้ว +66

      as a human being i'm glad women can be analytical and question bad movies trust me im so happy but its one thing to just hate on the realism of a cheerleader movie when clearly the movie is about the development and relationships not the actual competition..this isn't a sports movie really...it focuses on the characters ..relax who cares about how close it resembles the actual sport

    • @yyxshy
      @yyxshy 4 ปีที่แล้ว +297

      @@razkable personally i don't think she's hating on bring it on. she's just teasing the silliness of the movie. I mean we can clearly see how much she enjoys the movie as she knows multiple scenes by heart and stuff. so idk I think it's just something for fun and nothing serious.

    I used to be a competitive cheerleader but got dropped from a basket toss and broke my arm and hurt my back after Been unconscious for a few minutes . After I recovered the coach told me that I couldn’t cheer anymore because I was a flyer and I had already gotten replace. I cried for about a month because i was too small for any other position 😭 turned out my stunt group was trying to get rid of me because they where threaten by this girl (we will call her kate) who lost the tryouts against me and told my stunt group that if she wasn’t the flyer she was going to ask her dad to not let my group compete (her dad was rich and was planning to remove us from the competition). My team had been working very hard and was looking forward to the competition. The plan was originally to have me “mess up” so I wouldn’t be the flyer. ( btw i was having a little trouble that season and was kinda behind the team since I got sick, perfect opportunity for the Kate to accomplish her plan) unfortunately it didn’t go as planned and i ended up getting hurt (as you already know). My stunt group and teammates later confessed to me and told me the story and asking for forgiveness. I forgave them and told my parents. They were going to confront Kate’s dad about what she did to me but she changed states and she kind of disappeared. A year later we see her competing with another team and that’s when we find out she was only using our team so she could get ahead. I was traumatized by my experience and couldn’t compete again so I just went to my teams competitions and cheered for them of the sideline. That’s my story thanks for reading ❤️

    Thanks for your authentic recollection of what REALLY characterizes cheerleading in the real world... it just helps to highlight the gap between fact and fiction. Also, didn't know you were homeschooled like me. I started homeschooling in the 5th grade and BOY did I have to take several high school dual-enrollment courses to make a solid transition to college classroom settings and studying skills! If it wasn't bad enough, I'm on the Spectrum, so I can confirm that it took a WHOLE lot of effort to make that transition to a public-studying scenario.

    Dallas Cowboy “Cheerleaders” are basically pom girls (at my school we had cheer squad and pom squad. We did stunts, tumbling, chants etc. while pom girls had pom poms danced and did turns etc) both cool...just not the same.

      This is accurate. They used to actually be cheerleaders so I guess the name just stuck

    • @riizuzu
      @riizuzu 4 ปีที่แล้ว +62

      they’re a drill team, not a pom squad there’s a HUGE difference. they’re known as cheerleaders be it’s the NFL. drill team is isolated to texas, so anyone outside of texas doesn’t know how to actually refer to them.

    • @nicolesmith4371
      @nicolesmith4371 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      lizzle I live in Texas (Dallas specifically) and I’ve never heard them referred to as that. But I believe you

    • @riizuzu
      @riizuzu 4 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      Nicole Smith they’re not publicly referred to being a drill team, but that’s what they are. drill team isn’t a huge thing outside of our state so it’s not a nonchalant thing to call them if that makes sense? but when you watch them like she says it’s clear they’re not cheerleaders but dancers, but that’s all you’d know to call them is dancers if you didn’t know better

    I was not on a cheer team but I was in my school's choir team. Boy, let me tell you being a child and having people judge how you sing is probably why so many people have social anxiety. People used to tease me because I was the only female alto on the team. I was 11; I think so, this is before kids' voices start dropping. Being teased for your voice, something that you don't have much control over is the worst. I seriously don't know how I've never experienced a vocal strain. I literally had to sing scream because we had terrible microphones.

    Our backstage ritual for theater was called “zap” and it was where we would all stand in a circle, holding hands, in the dark. We would start out slumping and slowly get to fully standing up while going “zzz” and it would get louder until we would all yell “ZAP!” Haha
