I'm disabled and can't hike (much less walk). I love living vicariously through these videos to see places that are inaccessible to me. Thanks for making your videos!

Actually I'm trying to figure away to get disabled folks to great hikes. Ive got OA both knees, back stenosis, chronic fatigue...
Maybe do a camp magic for 4 hours or plan a smaller doable hike with chair ( I know mountain won't do, but some can!)
As I'm in bed recovering from fatigue and pain, the idea of a small hike with help sound do able ( 5 miles 2.5 in... Camp hike out )
      It's the journey not miles
If I'm thinking about it, I've hired a disabled trainer who understands..

I love my job... I build stuff... so when I am out on the trail it is just such an incredible time.... OH, I live in Washington State.... which is two environments in one state. West of the Cascades is green to the point of a rain forest, East of the Cascades is dry with many rivers.... great place to live.

Time to get cheesy. This is honestly my favorite video that anybody has done of the PCT. First, I commend your spirit and bravery for taking the trip on as a lone woman and for seeing it through to the end. I appreciate that you shared your vulnerable moments of stress and fear with us and how you didn’t let it get the best of you. Obviously the sweeping views and gorgeous landscapes were breathtaking but I loved that you took the time to show us the beauty that lies in the small things on the trail. A heartfelt congratulations on completing the PCT and making women proud, and a big thank you for the amazing video and inspiration for my future hike!

We hike along the Seattle coast line and did Brice Canyon by mule. This wonderful video brings me back to that summer when I was so young and learned so much about this beautiful Country we all live in. Thank you so much for sharing your adventure with us.

Video footage is top quality, editing is great, soundtrack is solid, narration is excellent (especially for an engineer :-). Scenery is nice too!

HOLY CRAPAMOLY! Just shaking my head. “24 hour challenge” 62 miles, what a tough pretty, little BAMA GIRL! Way to go, Jessica/Dixie. You’re a triple crowner now. What’s next? What ever you decide, you have a character of steel. You will succeed. Texas. PS: This is 3 years after I watched this the first time. Back in the 70’s my wife and two year daughter left me in Germany to go back to Tennessee to have our second daughter. My daughter was just learning to talk. My wife taught her to sing, “You Are My Sunshine”. She sang the whole song to me over the phone. Whew! When you started the song, so far from home, well, it brought back sweet memories. I live in Kentucky, now. Thanks, again.

Wonderful documentary Dixie. Had a tear in my eye there at the end. Your courage, your determination, your sense of your place in the world around you are inspiring. Our backpacking days are behind us, but my husband has been a member of the PCTA for nearly 30 years and he did volunteer trail clearing in the Desolation Wilderness area for 25 years, every summer. To Pulaski's, McClouds and 'blow-downs', and to life's adventures. Looking forward to watching your other trail documentaries.

Once again Dixie, Thank You for bringing me along with you, I must say, this is the first time I got to see and be there in spirit with my friend Dixie when you got 'down,' I never thunk I'd ever see it, it makes me think back to the day in Texas when I fell on an oilfield wellhead frac location job sight, sadly the fall broke my lower back in five disc levels, it was the day before I was heading back to SE Idaho then fly back to Georgia to begin my AT Thru Hike trip, fully funded by my employer with six months off with their blessings, I'm grateful I'm still able to experience each of the triple crown thru hikes with all of you my thru hiking heroes that film their entire trips, I say Thank You All and God Bless Each Of You. :)

Miss Dixie, Buttercup, Jessica, your words through out the 3 hikes have touched my heart.
Every struggle.... it makes us stronger, I needed to hear that. I chose to watch hiking videos instead of feeling pitty for myself in this last breakup. I'm 48, I didn't see my self alone, again. Yet, as you are about to accomplish your triple crown, the CDT... I feel ok being alone... I think the word is too big, too precious, too awesome to not see. I've been actively hiking for 6 years. Long backpacking was not in my plans. You are inspiring, I am falling for the idea!!!

OMG I love how you save ants and consider the smallest little creatures that you encounter. LOVE this doco. Great editing and story telling. Just sent you a BAT tip for your amazing efforts. Wish I could give more. Keep up the fantastic work!

Just watched this again... one of the best most natural PCT documentaries ever. The Mosquito sections cracked me up. Years later still an independent TH-camr. This year will be another interesting year... you are rightfully proud to have pushed through the snow sections. I am so lucky I live close to the Cali Sierra's.

That's a pace of basically 1 km/15 min, kept up over 24 friggin hours what?! I still don't understand how this is an option even with carrying barely anything + having rested properly beforehand. But doing that with all of the gear and amidst a whole thru-hike. My brain hurts from trying to grasp this.

I did 100km in one day already twice (don't ask, why) Doable but afterwards I was almost unable to walk. That's nothing I'd do on a trip. That's something you can do as an outstanding event but make sure you have the next day off.

Dixie I fell a sleep watching TH-cam video's and woke up to your video of your PCT hike for a second time. I could not love it more. I have been called a jock in my younger days because I liked to hike and ski. It was so hard to help them to know the beauty of the mountain's and what a spiritual experience it is. You are as I have said to others like you that you are a breath of fresh air. Thanks for sharing all of this for us old mountain Goats.

Hey Dixie, thanks for this version of your PCT hike.
I'm Brazilian and I'm planning on doing the JMT in a couple of years and your footage of the Sierra is pretty nice. I've already watched a few JMT thruhike videos, but your shot of Mt Whitney summit during sunrise is the only one that teared me up (twice, cause I'd already seen your vlogs of the Sierra section haha).
    Thank you so much.
And best of luck on the CDT!

@@aurtisanminer2827 Yes. I think his name on TH-cam is Aaron Mattox. She films every day, when she gets to town, she uploads to Dropbox, Aaron pulls it down, edits it, and uploads it to TH-cam. They're a fantastic team. You should go back and watch every single one of her videos from day 1 forward.

Really well done, better than I expected. Though almost 2 hours long, I was riveted to the adventure, the challenges and the triumphs. Just the right amount of coverage of the trip, not too much "chaff". The cinematography was impressive, particularly with the addition of what I surmise to be drone footage. Just beautiful. Nice music to accompany too, great editing. Thanks for sharing Dixie!
