It's just so boring on those servers that I'm actually glad when people invade them. I haven't been on them in over 2 years now though

Inorganic alliance servers should result in a warning for everyone involved the first time, and a permanent ban if it happens again. Rare has a problem with “exploits”, but not this. Whatever.

The bigger problem is the alliance discord owners themselves who profit thousands every month from people buying priority access to servers they don't even own. I mean, I respect the hustle, but no clue how Rare lets it go on for that long.

I get that this is part of bein a pirate but I only enjoy this game by being an idiot on a boat with friends and just chillin but then all the progress me and my friends spend hours getting just gets erased in 2 seconds
You shouldn't get too attatched to your loot, sell often and just change servers if you meet someone you don't want to play with. I understand your frustration, but the threat of losing it all is part of the intended gameplay loop. And in every online game you play there will be better players than you, unless you're an absolute lord. I don't like being sunk either, but that's just the way it is my friend.
Since I've made this comment I've been playing more with my friends and I've actually been on the winning side of the battle now. I still think the penalty shouldn't be as big as it is but I also just play high seas anyways
