Yes, the cheaper models from the AZ-series are 1200 bucks.
I thought about buying one...
...but it's still at the critical area of my financial range, so I'm waiting for the Harley Benton Pro Fusion series, almost the same features for 400 bucks ; )

@@DerEchteBold relativly late, but theres no cheap version of this Ibanez - the lower priced AZ series have totaly different woods and electronics. This for example is the only one in the line with that body type all others are more like strats.

What do you mean by body type?!
As far as I remember all AZ's have the same shape and there are the cheaper versions, like I said.
He asked for 'similar' and that's exactly what it is.They don't have different electronics, as far as I know all AZ's are exactly the same except for wood and finish.

Hey, i have the tequila sunburst ibanez az242 (shown in this video), and ive noticed when the silver switch (i dont know what its called but it basically changes the voicing) is in the upwards pointing position, theres a lot of background noise and hum when any distortion is active. Does anyone know if this is a fault of the guitar, or if thats just a biproduct of having that voicing active?

Hey Shaun, know it’s been awhile and not sure someone helped you... as far as I know switch will split your humbuckers to work somewhat like a single coil (high level explanation). Thus you get the different voicing but also the hum.
