Thanks for your honesty regarding the repair costs. I think we all realize that equipment is not cheap to operate and maintain. I look forward to these videos everyday.
This has been an amazingly big job and to think you are almost ready for the pond work! This place is going to be nice! Hopefully you can dig into some springs for water! Nice work Chris! Thanks again for taking us along!
The light at the end of the tunnel is finally showing. Jobs like this can get to you. I like doing a lot of different things. Breaks things up. Thanks for sharing Chris.
The blessing is that you have the business to support the repair bills. In the business world that is part of the bottom line (the cost of doing business). Enjoy your videos and you give people an idea of what it takes to be successful.
Repairs are expensive for sure, then add the recent fuel cost, I can feel the squeeze sir, however, well maintenanced equipment reduces the worry, risk, and for the the most part, catastrophic breakdowns, not mention it is an absolute joy to get into well maintained equipment and operate it as it should be operated. That’s why I watch your channel young man, I get pleasure from watching well maintained equipment operate, owned by a man who cares about that equipment. Thanks for the ride along, you are getting close to the dirt part of the project.
Chris with all the older Cat equipment you are acquiring I think you need to add one more piece.....a Cat 613 paddle scraper !! You could cut and build the dam without leaving the cab!!! Anyway thanks for taking us along on your adventures!!!
When you did the first video on this job where you cut out the new driveway for the loggers and built the staging area for them, I could not get it in my head what this job was going to look like. But it is really starting to come together now. Anxious to begin seeing the pond take shape. But it's looking good. Thanks.
I really like the long videos. I watch every one and can't wait for the next. Can't wait for the pound project, it will be awesome to watch how you do it. Keep on keeping on. 💯 %
Four minutes into the video, I'm sitting here thinking to myself, "You know, Chris could probably play Jenga really well with that Volvo of his" Love your videos Chris! I watch every one I can catch
That 220 has been a awesome machine, you take care of your equipment, it's lasted good, an it still looks great because your not rubbing paint off the counterweight an scratching it up, great work Chris, thanks for sharing 💪🇺🇲🌲
You were talking about repair bills being the hounds at your heels reminded me of a vagrant I once arrested so he could have a hot meal and a warm bed to sleep in for the night . He was making his way from PA. and I asked him what it was like traveling like he did and he said ," sir it's like shoveling sh-t against the tide " , I bet that's how you feel sometimes .
The most unusual thing I noticed when watching Dirt Perfect repairing his Volvo haul truck was how dirt oil sand packed on the inside of the rims wore holes in the brake calipers causing brake fliud leak.
Expensive equipment, expensive repairs. That's why you work 24/7. Cannot believe you are almost through clearing. This is a huge project. Then the fun part. Pond building. Thanks Chris for another good video.
Good job as always brother. I might have heard this one from DP during one of his speeches, he's big on clean equipment, paint and maintenance. Or did I just dream that, I probably did. LOL In terms of engine run time, 1 hr on the clock is roughly equal to driving approximately 60 miles, 5000hrs, = 300,000 miles. One hr of idle time reduces it to 30 to 40 miles, it might be easier on fuel but its not a contributing factor in improving or prolonging engine life & health. Known hourly fuel consumption, rpm's vs idle run time can help establish overall engine health and develop the metrics for a comprehensive maintenance schedule. This is pretty much the standard for diesel engines but of course it doesn't apply to all other moving parts and components of construction equipment such as bearings, sleeves, pins, bushings, hydraulic cylinders, axles, shafts etc. Regular equipment maintenance and frequency is a must outside of engine hrs. Listening for strange noises, and paying attention to the terrain and the effects it will have on the equipment in which its being used should be a common sense approach to increase maintenance outside of regular scheduled servicing.. A clean engine bay, you can always spot the leaks right away...
Great job Chris, you plan all the details out and talk your way thur them and get your game plan set. Great video very informative keep up the great work
Thanks Chris for this vid to watch on a Sunday. To me it seems the stumper is way better at digging up stumps than the bucket. Those two claws seem to go thru roots like a hot knife thru soft butter. Like you said, it's less stress on your excavator. I'm seriously impressed with the incredibly awesome job you've been doing clearing that rag tag mess. I'm certain you'll be glad to finish this one. It's almost as bad as the Veternarian clinic rock busting job was.
I think you have an awesome job. You get to sit in an air conditioned cab and operate a mechanical monster that rips trees out of the ground, snaps them in half and throws them onto a burn pile!
Fine job Chris. I'm impressed the care and attention to your equipment. You're Da Man Chris. My vote for operator of the year... If they have such a thing. Thanks for the share..
I have to agree with you that land clearing is hard on a machine. Just think if the 220 would be for sale. The sales guy would just tell you that’s a low hour machine that was well taken care off and mostly just run on the weekends. 😂😂
With all the small stuff leftover to clean up. And the dirt leftover from the new pond. It might be a good time to think about where Bealygood Mountain is going to be located
Excellent video Chris. Love seeing your skills in an array of different equipment. When you use equipment regularly you certainly know pretty quickly if something isn’t right. By the time you add up the repairs, fuel & all the different fluids you require, that’s a big hunk out of your earnings. That’s even before insurance, wages, taxes etc, etc, etc💸💸💸 Take care & cheers 🐨🦘🥰
Being owner operator running the equitment you pay better attention to them and can spot trouble before its a major breakdown and can get ahead and plan repairs for off days ! I started watching yt daily about 4-5 yrs ago and your channel came up on suggested videos & ever since its my daily watch about 4 pm & i don't miss the ones i used watch from over seas that i could not understand a word they said ! Top Notch channel & the groups i like there all doing stuff together !
i agree... DP seems like he's not working all that hard right now anyway.. i'm sure he'd like to come down with his semi and trailer, haul yer truck over to his place and fix it just like that...
Chris take the truck to DP’s. He and Mr Millennial fixed all the wheel seals themselves 😁😉 While your there try out the Hyundai 210. Your vlogs bring out the “little digger boy” in me. Great to watch and thanks for posting. 🇬🇧👍👍👍
from someone just getting on a dozer i would have loved to see and hear you talk and run the blade inside. i know to go slow but still have problems making anything flat lol
Many small contractors do not plan for repair work and go under/out of business. From what I can tell your very frugal with money and have enough set aside to keep going. 😎😎
Get as much as you can with each push and learn as you go,always learning. It's also good to do it without doing damage or as little as possible anyhow. If ever you stop caring to learn about your job you just might need a new career. Great video and thumbs up as always!

Yea Chris, you should always pad your estimates with repair money, if you don't use it you can deduct it from your bill or carry it over. Do you have like a special account you save money back for maintenance and repair? Sort of health savings account for equipment. 😆 🤣
Chris I don't know if you ever tried any of that Lucas stuff but it works real good you can put it in the motor transmission or whatever if you can get it for all of it gear gearbox is too it's softens in seals and stuff up and they're just like new again and you'd be surprised how much it saves you
Basically a matter how you look at it for every grapple you put in that truck is one less trip you have to make with the dozer or the excavator is definitely a time saver and a fuel saver

It’s almost time for the pond build, that’s exciting. But first you have to finish stumping and burning. I know you’ll be glad when that’s done.
Things are shaping up nicely ! Great work.
Awesome video this shows the level of expertise on everything he has Well done Chris Always a joy to watch
