Some Nights is a definite gem, holds a special place in my heart. Have it on vinyl and I'll keep it forever, would pay anything to see them play it in it's entirety
Still listen to their albums to this day. So good. And Nate’s solo album was good also but she hasn’t dropped anything since then. He has a feature on a young thug song if anyone is interested. It’s pretty nice
I kinda just found AJR recently, and lot of their sound and song progression reminds me a of Fun. Idk if there was any inspiration taken from each others music or not. Too bad we'll probably never get to hear Fun play together again. I've listened to Some Nights cover to cover countless times, and still do to this day. They made some beautiful music together, and I'm definitely greatful for that.
Awesome video. I highly encourage you to delve deeper into topics in the future you gave awesomeness and left me wanting more. For instance Nate is the one who wanted to pursue a solo career and kinda blindsided the rest of the band. While he has never given a reason based on past things he has said it looks like he felt like certain band mates were to protective of the songs they were involved in, more than likely referring to Jack.
Some might say if Fun didn't end Jack Antonoff wouldn't helped made Lorde or Taylor Swift music become famous like it is today since he produced most of their albums in that time.
You completely blew over their first album which got overshadowed by some nights. So I guess that’s appropriate but if anyone hasn’t listened to it, please do. It’s incredible.
Thought I remembered something about Nate(the band?) having an issue with the label & refusing to record/put out new music. May have been in his interview with Jim Adkins (Jimmy Eat World). He also married into $ so w his own success and having f.u. $ he prob doesn't care. But I still miss the good ol days of The Format.
Nate Ruess kinda had more pop leaning aspirations rather than band collaborations, partially because Nate only sang and cant play instruments (according to himself, and is confirmed in all his recordings since The Format, he only sings) so he needs others to flesh out his ideas. Bleachers sounds closer to what Jack Antonoff wanted Fun to sound like, where Nate wanted more big chamber pop, hence the decision to go solo. Nate didn't want to be in a band. He wanted be a pop singer. But his solo album flopped, and that was end of that, effectively ended his career
Kind of wanted to learn why this band disbanded and I find myself having to correct... Some nights was actually from 2012. As for you... a suggestion I could give you is to script more your videos and really don't skip out on research. You have a solid foundation and you will be a great youtuber you just have to polish more your writitng... the way you went here kinda felt off the top of your head and a bit padded
Hey thank you! I actually used ChatGPT to help write the scripts and I realized sometimes the information it provides is wrong. So I started going off the top of my head sometimes and ChatGPT other times. Newer videos are more researched and scripted!
@@CameronExplores oh no... don't use that... you can do better... the research part is the funniest part of making videos. I know you can do it! Though I've inly watched your videos for like an hour now
What was your favorite song by the band?
"Why Am I the One" from the album "Some Nights" 🙂
Carry On
The gambler 😌

They will always be remembered for "We Are Young"!

I really think Fun. should be like the next Queen, the album Some Nights it's perfect for a deep listing.
Miss them. I hope to see them back making more Fun music.

And he has a feature with Eminem on MMLP2
Definitely We Are Young is what they will be remembered for.
