Indormation totally wrong. You dont even need to talk to this kid. Save Arabella from Khaga and save the boy from the harpies, get the secret code, talk to Mol and she’ll ask you to steal the idol. Just make sure to steal it after you incriminate Khaga or you’ll start a war inside the grove. PS: if you steal the idol before talking to Mol you won’t get the reward , so make sure to talk to her first.
You don't even need the secret code. If you make yourself a small race you can crawl into the hole down the ladder behind their shop, walk through their base and pull the rope to open the hatch yourself. Helpful if the harpies get the kid.
You can 100% steal the idol before talking to mol. You just have to make sure that you save Arabella before going to talk to her. You can steal the idol early on without triggering the bloodbath by going to camp while the idol is midair when you steal it. After getting to camp, you can go back to the grove and nothing will happen. Then if you haven’t already saved Arabella, do that and then either talk to Doni and pass the investigation check or just use a Druid, shapeshift into a cat and go down the burrow hole that leads into their little lair. Dismiss your animal form, talk to mol, she’ll thank you for saving Arabella, then you need to ask her if she needs help with anything. She’ll tell u to steal the idol, so you say ok, then tell her you already have it and boom. You have the ring.
