- Ben Nevis January 2025🏔️🏴
Every 2nd weekend of January, we head to the summit of Ben Nevis for our annual winter walk. When I launched this tradition back in 2023, 10 of our members joined. In 2024, that number doubled to 20, and now, in 2025, we proudly supported 30 members! I believe this truly captures the essence of fostering inclusion and representation in the outdoors.
This achievement was months in the making, with plenty of preparation. I educate our members about the right gear and how to build the fitness needed for such an adventure. We reached the summit at 11 a.m. and ensured everyone made it safely off the mountain🏔️.
Massive congratulations to everyone on this adventure and a huge thank you to my fellow adventurers who helped make this adventure unforgettable😊. From the challenges on the trail to the laughter we shared at the summit, it was truly an experience to treasure💙.
I can’t wait to share more from this incredible journey with you all, until then, follow along on our journey on social media at BlackScottishAdventurers.
Until the next one...this is Living🎉

IMPORTANT INFO BELOW⬇️
Here are some key things to consider when planning your adventure as the days get shorter and colder:
• Plan your route and check the mountain weather and
avalanche forecasts before you go.
• Take appropriate winter clothing, footwear, and
equipment, including a torch, power bank, map,
compass, and plenty of food and water.
• Build your confidence and practice navigation and
winter skills on simpler routes before attempting more
complex and longer days.
• Consider signing up for a winter skills course.
• Be prepared to alter your plans or turn back if the
weather or conditions change.
• Let someone know where you’re going, when you
expect to return, and what to do if you don’t come
back as planned.
• If you’re lost or injured and can’t get off the mountain,
call 999, ask for the Police, and then request
Mountain Rescue.
