Cabin Dweller Hey! I don’t know if you follow Jenny on other outlets outside of TH-cam, but Jenny’s been advocating for the BLM movement pretty much nonstop on Instagram lately and is encouraging others to help out. You do have to remember that TH-cam is her main source of income and that taking a full break from work is not a possibility for a lot of us. Doesn’t mean that we’ve stopped fighting! If you read the description of this video, you can read that all the adsense income from this video will actually go to BLM. 💜
@@egel7736 That means it will go to a group that supports the abolition of prison. It will also go to a group that is funded by white male billionaires, who make it all back through the miracle of capitalism. The other companies capitalizing off their support are Amazon, Instagram, Netflix, Fox Sports (the Murdoch family), Disney, etc. There is no end to the list of white billionaires who are supporting the cause so that they might support themselves. Meanwhile, Black Lives Matter leads to the Ferguson Effect, which is more violence against black people by black people. Her protest of systemic white racism widens the weath gap by a wide margin. Her protest of systemic white racism promotes, in the real world young people don't know much about yet, systemic white racism.
I appreciate your response to me. I always support a person's desire to make the world a better place, but history teaches us that good deeds do not go unpunished.
@@cabindweller8454 If you would have done more research into the Black Lives Matter movement, you would know that this group is not fighting for the abolition of prison. Actually, I think most of us want the murderers of George Floyd to be locked up in prison forever. We're not against imprisonment systems at all, but a lot of us do think some type of reform of police forces all over the world is necessary to reduce the risks of systematic oppression of black people by our police systems, e.g. a stricter police training that checks whether a trainee has racial prejudices.
Currently, people are raising their voices to reduce the funding of police forces, especially in the United States. Most of us aren't even saying police needs to be defunded completely. Instead, we think a lot of the money that currently does go to the police, should better go to education. With this money, young children in high school can receive better education about equality, human rights and other topics that would help our societies with tackling racism.
Also, what process of systematic white racism are you referring to? You have to realize that we're both in a very privileged position, as our skin colours have never hindered us in society. Have you ever been turned down from getting a job because you're white? Did someone ever call after you on the streets because you're white?
I don't think you get what "Black Lives Matter" stands for. Saying that black lives matter doesn't mean that other lives do not. The reason why we're not using "All Lives Matter", is that this redirects the attention from Black lives, who are the ones in peril.

I have a roommate there still who for circumstances that I won't go into that wouldn't work for her. So no, I haven't. I left (in a pandemic) for my health - which I'm sure you don't have an understanding of because I don't share that part of my life living with a chronic illness. I also don't think that the blame falls on the individual for housing homeless in a pandemic (as I said, we both have health issues) so this overt blame! without knowledge of my situation feels pretty unnecessary!
