    Brings back memories when I was qualified as an “Incident Officer” to be in charge of the fire apparatus with the Ocoquon, Woodbridge Lorton, Volunteer Fire Department, (OWL VFD) In Woodbridge, VA.

    I'm curious, when you are out on a call for Mutual Aid, but you get canceled en-route to the Mutual Aid, who pays for the fuel you guys had to use in this process of going there? Superb video of this ride along, too bad the sunlight kind of washed out the forward viewing area, would a filter work for this?? I don't have a video camera, but thinking of purchasing one. Like I said a superb video, Thank you for sharing and stay safe BVFD!

    How big Is the area you have to cover if your responding time Is 20 minutes?

    • @JNDlego57
      @JNDlego57 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      12nine Often if a response is this long, it usually means it’s out of the department’s jurisdiction, and they are being requested as additional resources.

    • @WilliamSeibertwillis923

      good ol HIPAA

    • @greeneyes92061
      @greeneyes92061 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, they definitely need to mute sensitive and personal information. About 12-13 years ago, I was rear ended...not a terrible accident but an accident nonetheless. I was driving....the hit was hard enough for me to hit my head on the visor area. Just a hit, no lacerations or blood. I guess what I'm trying to say, it would definitely be considered "minor" but still needed attention.
      EMS gets on scene (county EMS-paid employees) , one of the guys acts as though I'm inconveniencing him when I say yes I want to get checked out at the hospital. Granted I'm not the most lightweight person in the world--I weighed about 190 lbs at the time (I'm 5'6")- same guy acted as though I was some 400 pounder he had to deal with. He also made the comment that my car "doesn't even have any damage ".
      THEN that night, my oldest son who is a volunteer firefighter--happens to work at the same volunteer station as said EMT/paramedic. EMT guy starts relating the story of "this accident" he had responded to that day. Made the comments (to all who were there) that this particular car had no damage & the driver wasn't even hurt. ( Having no idea the driver was the mother of one of the guys he was talking to!) Just short of giving out my name he made it very clear which accident & talked all sorts of trash about the driver (me). Even saying that I wasn't even hurt. My son doesn't say a word, but calls me to let me know that I am the topic of conversation. My son said he (EMT guy) was on the line of breaking HIPPA &'it wasn't the first time.
      What EMY guy didn't know was that "this woman " also works for the county 😳😆😳!! I worked in the finance department and did payroll for all county employees---I processed his paycheck every two weeks!!!! So when I get to work the next day, I just call downstairs to the EMS department and talk to director of EMS--told him what had happened & according to my son this wasn't the first time he talked in too much detail. In the guy got fired. I didn't go into it with the intent of anyone losing their job, I wanted him to get a good tongue lashing for his unprofessional behavior...but not lose his job. Some people just can't keep their mouths shut..... And yes, my car had almost $1700.00 in damages, it was 95% under my car where it couldn't be seen just by standing there looking at the car.

      He has bunker pants on, his PPE is right in front of the camera. Do you really wear full PPE while going to the call? I sure as hell don't! you're not making any fire attack to need PPE, you're just riding in the truck.

      SCBA is positive pressure. Only downside to hair like that is you may waste air. Most volunteer departments don’t care about facial hair. On mine; we keep clippers in the rigs for these situations
