I think when desiring anything the issue seems like it’s in not having the object of desire however I think the real issue is more subtle and that is the feeling like you need something, not being content with what is. Desires are endless and we trick ourselves into thinking we can get what we desire and then that will be it, as if our desires are what we need to be happy and content, but it will never come because to have desired objects and circumstances is to have desire itself, desire imo should be in sync with the present moment, spontaneous and achievable, future desires can still be sought but just not with true importance, to overtake the contentment of the present is a mistake, gratitude and acceptance must be cultivated before attempting to move things around “out there”. And as all desires end because all is in ever changing motion and impermanence no nest should be made in this world as the foundations aren’t always going to be there, to be a good traveler you have to pack light. This doesn’t mean you can’t have things as most will believe, it means you have to be careful not to be attached and dependant on things, attachment is a mental relationship, you could be a king or a queen and flow effortlessly through this life.
