  • Testing The Overnight Method Feeder Pellets Hack!
    I have recently been sent videos of some of the top names in feeder fishing mixing their method feeder pellets in advance and asked if it was any good to use this method... So in true Westy fashion let's put it to the test!
    What you will need to try this yourself - water/airtight Tupperware (not a bait tub!), pellets and water.
    Grab a brew or a beer and enjoy the video 🎣 don't forget so subscribe, comment and like if you enjoy the videos !

    with my pellets, I fill them just under the top of the pellet, leave the water in for 45 min - drain them off then put them into a ziplock bag overnight in the fridge they are perfect the next day no mush at all! worth a shot

    I watched a video recently of a guy who did this. Left a tub 30 minutes, a tub 2 hours and another one over night. All came out absolutely fine. I tried it on my last session. Filled a tub when i got to the lake. Went for breakfast. Absolutely perfect by the time i'd set up. Tried with 3 different types of pellet and same results each time. Its the method im using from now on. You can just take empty takeaway containers and when youve only got a few feeders worth of pellets left you fill another tub up. Stops any chance of preparing too many pellets too

    This is practically the only method I use.
    I’ve got 2 pots with click locks on them. 300ml & 500ml I make the just before I’m going to bed. I leave them for a few minutes and they’ve swollen into the lid. Then I flip the pot upside down for a few mins. Then fridge them. I have just soaked them that way for an hour kept turning the pot. They were fine too.
    I normally empty the lot in to a tub and break them up when I get to my peg,
    I do it so I can maximise my fishing time on the bank.
    Each to their own! 👍

    I find that different makes and brands of pellets require different lengths of time in water, at the end of the day it's down to personal preference as long as they're presentable, like you I like mine to be a little harder and not too mushy

    Maybe turn the tub upside down & back a couple or so times during the fridge time to soak more equally??

    Another great video Matt. What I like about you is you never put anyone down for doing something different to you and often give their way a try. Keep up the good work.

    I use chicken layers pellets, they’re cheap and the carp love them. I put them in a plastic washing up bowl liquifies a couple of tins of sweet corn and mix it all together with the pellets. I then put half in a zip lock bag and half in a bucket and leave over night. When I get to the lake in the morning I just damp the with a bit of lake water and mix thoroughly then leave for ten minutes or so and mix again. Granted the pellets don’t hold their shape but with the corn in it makes a fantastic method feeder mix and stays on the feeder. If I don’t use what’s in the back up bag then I put it in the freezer when I get home.. I’m going to experiment by adding a touch of hemp in the mix too. It’s worth giving it a go.

    I use this method now after Mick Vials showed me and I love it! Makes life so easy.
    The pellets are better once taken out of the tub and mixed together, gives you a more even result 👍🏻
    Nice video 🎉

    I've done them all ways over the years, but doing them 10 mins before setting off at home is the best and a little stir on arrival at the fishery..

    I have found it only works evenly when you use a lot bigger tub, so all the pellets are flatter rather than stacked on top of each other in a smaller container. When i use smaller tubs the bottom pellets are never the same as the top ones.

    I find this just creates pellets that can easily be mushy - and not properly break down. A short 20-30 seconds followed by 10 minutes to rest makes for a better breakdown.

  • @CarpAndMore
    @CarpAndMore 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    The way I’m doing this is filling the half of the rub with pellets and then just cover them with water and leave for over night. For me it is work better than fill the whole tub

    • @WestysAngling
      @WestysAngling  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That will allow them to expand too much for my liking and become overly soft and springy. The compression helps them hold shape better 😂 definitely no right or wrong way, it all works …I’m just fussy about my method feeder pellets !

  • @darrenbluer2749

    You did it wrong that's why it didn't work. You need a smaller air tight container, you then fill it to the brim with pellets & then add water just until the water starts to rise through the pellets & then you fasten your airtight lid on (no need for refrigeration) & then when you arrive on the bank tip then into a larger container & shake them up. And then as if by magic..... Perfect pellet 👍👍
