Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up. They are all now in their 30's.
Most of their songs are in a mix of Japanese and English (and three songs totally in English). I've seen them live four times and they are the best live band I have ever witnessed.
Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po!

This is not a bad place to begin your Band-Maid journey. "Alone" was the first song the band wrote and composed themselves that the record company allowed them to record. Fans liked it. Since that time the band signed to a new label and have been writing and composing their own material ever since. This song didn't have captions but the later videos do have captions because their popularity exploded in the U.S. If you want to continue I would suggest a live video to see their enthusiasm or an instrumental to see their skills. Welcome down the pigeon hole.

I don't know of any other band where the fans' playlists differ so much. So, this is just a quite random selection of songs: For some very special live videos try Freedom, Play, Real existence and Endless Story. With Moratorium (Live at Zepp), Rinne (MV) and Dice you can hear more hard rock while more catchy songs are Choose me (MV), Bestie (MV) and Alone (MV). from JAPAN. BAND-MAID is a knockout live band, but they are also great in music videos. What's more, of course, the live version is even better. The girls wrote the songwriting , and this is the first time management has approved it. Up to that point, BAND-MAID had released many cool songs, but from this song onward, the band evolved rapidly, becoming almost entirely their own compositions. Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Don’t Let Me Down, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid.

Welcome home Maidiac! This band renewed my love for rock music and I found them by accident in 2017. I don't understand Japanese either, but I could care less. That's how good they are. This song - Alone - is the first they wrote and arranged by themselves after having their songs written for them for the first 2 years, despite writing many songs themselves but having them rejected by their company. They've only gotten better since then. Much better! They currently have well over 100 songs, with another album due out this Summer. We look Forward to your next Band Maid reaction, Po!

HUGE discography and are pretty much a worldwide phenomenon with rabid fans. hell man the BEATLES only had 7 or 8 years and then they were toast.
