Any temps below 50* F many times the amount of water is released during the combustion process, so his is normal. But that generic China can only traps app. 15% of the total suspended in the crankcase vapors so it is not doing much as far as benefiting the engine. The other thing is NEVER let them fill more than 1/3rd full or the efficiency drops to near zero as what enters simply passes through and is still ingested. Those small cans only have a 3-4 oz capacity. A proper system has a true air/oil separator that has a 16-20 oz capacity (the rate of flow through cannot slow to the point of NOT picking up droplets and carrying them right back out until a minimum of 16 OZ internal capacity). So they look easy to install, but it's not what you see caught that matters, it's what you don't see getting past that is still ingested. As for the freezing, that is an issue with most designs, so a proper air/oil separator is designed so it can never block the inlet and outlet so it will work even in -20 F temps properly. Very few are actually going to give much benefit. A full time vacuum evacuation system is what's needed. Agreed!!! One my wife’s Tahoe in the video I installed that one a while back. I now have the UPC pro series catch can that I’ve been delayed installing on it. The UPC one covers to clean and dirty side. Hopefully I’ll get around to it in the spring. ;)
