Thank you, Kirby, for presenting this topic at the level it deserves, i.e. putting focus on the craftsmanship and passion, instead of discussing watches as an 'investment', like most of the other folks. It only works with the right brands and VC is certainly one of them.
This interview makes me an absolute fan of Vacheron Constantin. Even though I will probably never be able to afford one. Many thanks to Alexander Schmiedt for his personal and authentic enthusiasm and Kirby Allison for his gentle interview style.
This is a cool boutique, I would like to note that the AP boutique is just across from the VC boutique and the vibe is completely different. The VC boutique had a nice opening celebration as well!
Yes! And I really appreciated how the Vacheron boutique integrated the work of a local Dallas artist. It was a nice touch. The boutique is very well-done.
Never thought I’d see this on your channel. While I’m in Colorado and we don’t have a VC boutique, we often fly to Dallas to visit my wife’s family. This and the Patek boutique are always fun stops. My dream is either the Patek 5227J/R or a VC Patrimony. Love the simple elegance of these dress watches and ogle them every time I’m in town.
As a proud owner of the VC Triple Calendar, I would suggest you take a look at it too. The 4400 caliber is classic elegance. I am grateful the watch was covered in this video!
I'm a huge fan of Vacheron Constantin's dress watches. I've had my eye on a VC Patrimony for years but have never been in a position to pull the trigger. I gave my wife a VC Magellan for Christmas years ago. Beautiful watch. If the makeup of the Trinity were up to me, I'd substitute A. Lange & Sohne for Audemars Piguet.
Oh wow! This is amazing. Vacheron is such a fantastic brand. I almost feel like I grew up with them, my father always wore a Vacheron Constantin (and still does) and has owned several. I have also had the pleasure of meeting their heritage Director, Christian Selmoni, on several occasions. Very interesting man. I would rather have a VC than a Patek or any other in vouge watch brands. Exceptional heritage and beautifully understated designs (for the most part).
Man i hope i was like this guy, no worries about wars no worries about money and work safety no worries of the future no worries of growing old and remaing single. Your country is best
@@AloneIranKingI have been to Tehran, in the mid-1970s. The Persian people are wonderful! Unlike no other in the world, with the culture. Absolutely enjoyed my times there. Governments are a bitch! Best wishes to You sir!
I drove from El Paso, Texas to get my watch at this shop. I worked with Pilar and her staff, they are such kind, friendly people and a joy to work with. I purchased the Triple Calander and love it. I fell in love with about 6 of the watches and got to try them all on. The shop is surrounded by several other interesting shops that are also worth seeing. You can spend a few hours in the area.
Great video! It's very difficult to grasp the level of finishing and the tactile nature of these time pieces. They stand up to a jewelers loop and it's almost impossible to find an imperfection. Additionally, for the manual wind VC, the smoothness of the wind feels really special. Kirby, I thing that Overseas would fit perfectly into your collection!
I absolutely love watches, the high end watch brands are out of my budget but the MAMACOO has literally an almost duplicate of every single watch on the market . Always a great but no matter your budget.
I am a JLC person but I have been looking for a relatively straightforward VC for some years now. I missed a couple at auction, they are not some hidden watch secret!!
Alles Gute. US
Dose Vacheron Constantin have the same sales policy as Rolex/Omega and AP? As in you need to prove you're a worthy client to purchase a specific piece? Thanks for any insight provided
Yes, I have bought from MAMACOO more than once. I even bought a new Omega Speedmaster which came with the fancy box and packaging. I am thrilled with all my purchases here. I would purchase from MAMACOO again for sure.
Wonderful video. Thank you. The thing I like the most is that I personally don’t connect so much with VC, but nonetheless I can admire the brand for what it is and for what it offers.
Look to VC in the 60's and 70's - I've a couple of one-off bespoke pieces of that era - they need to bring more of that ethos to the current catalogue so that you could choose a basic case shape, then a particular dial and hands, etc, but have a guarantee that you'll be the only person allowed to own that particular combination of elements. This plays into the "one of not many" aesthetic that they push for hard. In the past VC would never ever sell more than 12 of any particular combination of case shape, dial, hands etc - that ensured that your chance of meeting a fellow VC wearer with the exact same watch as you was almost non-existant in real world conditions. Rather than the faux-production limitations of a Rolex etc, VC would be better off reverting back to some of those 60's principles that makes that era of the watches so diverse and interesting. My ultra-thin auto has hand-beaten white gold on the case, and now flies so under the radar that it is wearable and extremely discreet, as well as being delightful for being one of a kind.
Kirby - I think it's time for you to buy the America 1921 and Patrimony watches. Both of those watches would be suitable for a formal affair or day at the office.
Lets be honest. VC was riding the coat tails of the Nautilus. They made people buy a ton of crap to get an Overseas. Now you can get any Overseas in the grey below retail. Nobody really wants a complicated VC.
@@kirbyallison VC is one of my favorite watch brands, so classic. It'd fit your style perfectly. I live in Allen, a northern Dallas suburb, bought all the shoe care stuff from you. Wish you the best!

Thing is, the need to readjust the distribution of wealth in the US. Since the Reagan administration. Increases in GDP have been sucked up by the one tenth of the one per cent. Long past time for said group to pay their taxes. Enough free-riding.
Kirby can you teach this guy about suits and dressing well? He is swimming in his sport jacket most likely off the rack in a tall size when he should be in regular. The dirty tan color of the jacket with 3 buttons makes it look even more dated. I recognize the brand is from the 1700s but he should modernize his style and get the tailoring right.
Been watching your videos for a while now and was inspired to start a collection. Started with the AMZWATCH, its specs for price and clean looks, now am looking for a dress watch to add.

AP don’t have to work or offer great service, their royal oaks sell themselves, that’s the issue.

Calendar and dual time complications my two favorite.
Was just there. Outstanding staff at the boutique. Beautiful watches. Some great boutiques in that mall.
Great boutique and wonderful staff. Visited earlier this year. Huge fan of VC!
By far my favorite timepiece producer. I will track down a vintage VC pocket watch.
Did not expect Kirby and team to visit Vacheron! Looking forward to collect the Historiques American 1921 some day in the upcoming years!

you should do some more content with Teddy Baldassarre
Yes JLC are very underrated timepieces and have the most in-house movements, but not in the same league as the top 3
Wow..Beautiful
I've always loved the Overseas but hated that they were so damn big. I need to try on this 34.5mm and see how it fits.

Even though it’s spelt Constantin its pronounced Constantan because Constantin is feminine name.
Great historic brand.
Wonderful watches. Hopefully somebody they'll slim down their Overseas Chronograph and update the movement to higher and modern specifications.
