- In this adventure, we visited what I consider one of the easiest overland trail in Socal, skyline dr in Big Bear, CA. We started at the east side of the trail and slowly made our way west. This trail is extremely easy with only a few areas of rut. Most vehicles including any regular car can make this trail. We end up finding a cool campsite near the east side of the trail. If you're looking for an easy overlanding trail in SoCal, I highly recommend this one.

Love all your vids man. Very informative. I'm set for next year as far camping destinations because of your videos. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful man
Nice easy and scenic trail. Looks like a good weekend getaway. 👍🏻
I’m loving the drone shots! It really makes your taco stand out 🚙
Definitely...such an easy trail that anyone can do it. It's just about going out and having fun not always about crawling over a trail haha
Found it. Thank you. Looking to take my two dogs on Memorial Day weekend.
Love that you explore a lot of trails near me. I’m kind of shocked you had some trouble here and at JT, your truck is set up way better than mine, maybe it’s because I drive crap roads constantly and I’m used to it? Or it could be I drive like an idiot??? Lol
Keep it up love the videos!
Lol...yea, could be im more cautious cause it's our only work vehicle so if its broken means I can't work haha...thanks for the support man!
@@Michael_Tran ahhhh makes more sense!! Either way I love your videos, great filming and lots of fun! Thanks for sharing, I’ll definitely keep watching! Maybe I’ll see you on the trails one day! Look for a dented red Ford with a hippie behind the wheel.
@@unclejimmy9674 Thanks man...ill definitely be on the look out haha
Awesome overlanding
Thanks man...super easy trail
Skyline Trail 2N10 Public Access is what’s is actually called
That exhaust u got is nice
Thank you...it's the MBRP...we like the sound
I definitely have to go there
Yea, it's a super easy trail
@@Michael_Tran I think I might go next month. Thanks
looks good
Thanks man
Great video. What time of year did you guys go? Looks like there was some nice Fall foliage there.
The skyline side of big bear is the most beautiful part
I agree...I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the view of the divide was
Awesome content Michael! Where’s the starting point!!
Thanks man...you can go on west or east side. If you look up skyline dr you should be able to see the entrance
I cant find the trail on all trails. Is this the holcomb valley ohv road? Btw love you contents, keep it up. You adventures inspires me that i can still overland with my 2wd work truck tacoma ahaha
Thanks man...I think it's called 2N10 on All trail but on google map it's called Skyline Divide or skyline dr.
skyline is on the south side of the lake
Hey brother do I need a permit or day pass to camp there? I want to take my kids Awesome video thank you
Hey brother, quick question. I know this video was made a couple years ago, but did you find any situation along this route that might cause off-road pinstriping overgrown brush? Thank you in advance
Not the main trail...tons of room. The off shoots mights be tight though
@@Michael_Tran Thank you👍
Super awesome! Do i need to air down?
Very minimal
I don't think so, we did just for comfort but not ready for traction
So is this truck 4x2 or are you just not using the 4 wheel drive?
This is my old truck and it's only 2wd
What is there website to determine what is a campground or not?
On google map you can see where all the campgrounds are
Is it necessary to pay to camp in this area? It's the first time I'm going, I'm from Baja and I know that camping in certain places is different there.
is this on All Trails?
Yes, it's on All Trail
Nice trail. Is there designated areas to set up camp? Can we just find a spot and set up?
Yea as long as it's away from the trail...you can read the full info on their website as to how you define a camping spot...but it's not hard.
Thank you. Really like your videos.
@@flores7480able thank you
What's the website?
Think the road is easy enough for a 2wd mazda cx-5?
I think so...not really any rock or ruts that I remember
@Michael_Tran thank you for the response, last question, i have all weather tires. Will i be ok aired up or should i air down?
@@dvsmike I think airing down is recommended but its not needed on this trail honestly
Would this be hard or too cold in December??
With snow, it might be. depending on how much
Tried to do it today, couldn’t get there. Is it closed during the winter? Any suggestions for the best nab app to find the trails?
Seems like they closed in in the winter for maintenance...holcomb valley rd across is a great option
@@Michael_Tran did that twice in the last few days lots of fun with all the mud and snow. Any recommendations for Nav app for off road driving?
How do I get there?
The coordinate is on the video...it's in Big Bear
Greta Video. Do you deflate tires on this trial? and if so. What would you recommend PSI to deflate?
Thank you...depending on the trail. This trail is not needed but if it's sandy or super rocky, I normally do it to around 20psi from 40psi. I've gone down to 5psi once and my tires sidewall can take it, this was in Utah where sand are super fine. Don't recommend going that low unless you really have to.
@@Michael_Tran thank you very much . I will be making my trip tomorrow to this trial
@@TheMarsgia Nice! Should be a great day for it. Have fun man
Why did you buy a 2wd?
for work
@@Michael_Tran just for the cheaper price?
@@johnnymiera3928 no, it was for work and car camping. Didn't think about off roading until past 2 years.
