i can think of 3 things to consider for candle light on face setup
    1. the drop off rate of the light will be very high. The intensity of the light will decrease very quickly as objects get further from the candle
    2. if the candle is the only source of light in the room, there will be very little reflected light, so shadows will be almost black. Unless there is a surface close enough to reflect the candle light back into the shadow.
    3. Both light and shadow will be very warm

5 years of art school and nobody taught me that the highlight/specular reflection on an object is related to the viewer's location. I was always thought it was the most concentrated point of center light. And I only owe $30,000 to student loans!

I'm planning on covering figure drawing next. That includes gesture, structure, proportions, anatomy. Also in the future I want do some videos on facial expressions / emotions, variations of age, gender, race. Later will start doing videos on oil painting. Not sure exactly what the timing of these are, but as you can imagine it will take a while to get through all that.
Hopefully I can make some profit soon so that I can hire help and have more time to focus on creating more content :)

We pay hundreds of dollars to have someone criquite how little we know but they don't teach a single thing. This single video was more imparting of knowledge than all of my drawing classes put together! Can't wait to buy the DVD!

Wow Stan, this video was amazingly informative! I especially like that you encourage the viewer to "break the rules" a little.
