Thanks for the video. My friend and I sat down and tried the game today but we couldn't figure out how many dice to roll. Make sure that you either have two players play more than one character or have several people play. My objective as a survivor was impossible unless I either had the right items and or had had extremely high knowledge.

I got and showed this game to my friends yesterday. I was really happy that we got one of the easiest haunts to play, just because I know some of them can be confusing and overwhelming.
Question… since you seem to know the game … can you do group attacks ?
Ie. Two ppl combined stats to fight the traitor or can the traitor fight two ppl at once ?
@@andrewzanoni2681 No. I haven't played all of the haunts though, so maybe there is a specific haunt scenario where that can happen.

Is there any information each side has to tell the other? Such as how to stun the monsters or what weapons you can use to fight the traitor or how to even fight the traitor? It can get confusing when you cant do a certain action and you dont understand why you cant.

Thanks for this! During the traitors turn, how many monsters can he control at a given time? For example: Traitors turn + Monsters Turn? Do you choose the monster you which to control?
Depending on the haunt, it should give you those instructions. Sometimes your character becomes the monster, sometimes you can control it but still have his character as well.

My first time playing we got the twins scenario which was weird and I got NO cards at all drawn the entire time. And I ended up being one of the twins and then everyone attacked me and it was a horrible experience 😂 really gave this a bad experience for me but I want to try again with hopefully a better haunt that is more fun. And maybe some better luck in the exploring phase

How do you eventually connect to the upper landing and basement landing? I am confused about how that works.
There are stairs connecting the ground level with the upper landing. The basement is trickier... you will eventually find rooms or cards which connect to the basement.
I got the haunt where a person gets the medallion or pendent or something in the furnace room so I became a mortal ghost who had drown because I had the highest speed. I then used the special elevator to teleport directedly to my sister and brother. I then stabbed by brother with a spear. he then said "no you" and I died of mental damage. also on the first turn I went directedly into a graveyard and the event I got gave the graveyard the blessed token. Then my sister fell into a hole and got stuck in the basement until she was forced up to the foyer because of the haunt. overall epic game. also I think that not all scenarios have a traitor.

Our DM to be is bringing this game over to play with our soon to be DnD group as a test run game, but I'm worried none of the boys will have the patience for this game aside from the DM himself after seeing this LOL
Just won a game of this. Went on for 4 hours because the traitor was revealed very early, and I as a traitor needed a certain item from one of the players. Very enticing, but easily more than 1 hour playtime!
what happens to the items/cards when the explore turns into the traitor?

Hey, I'm just wondering if on tiles where it says "when exiting do a might roll" exiting means passing through during a turn or if it means if you land on a tile do the roll at the beginning of your next turn.

I assume you are referring to the junk room. If you end your turn in the room after entering it, no roll occurs until you try to leave next turn. If you pass through it, you must make the might roll to see if your speed it lowered.
What do I do with the monster colorful tokens
Every single time I play this with friends the haunt somehow ends up happening in the furnace room, I have no clue why; I've played this game 5 times and every time it's been in the furnace room (with an exception to one time in which the haunt roll failed in the furnace room, only for us to realize that they drew a card to get there, therefore they simply should have ended their turn, thank goodness).
That's unfortunate. I've never played the same haunt twice in about 10 games we've played.
Teach The Table yeah, it really is. I mean thankfully the haunt wasn’t the same each time due to different omens (we did get the same one twice but we decided to just draw a new omen). But what are the chance of the haunt almost consistently starting in the furnace room multiple games in a row?

Has anyone else been confused by the rules and the glossary? The rules state that the Haunt Roll is 6 dice. The glossary states that the haunt roll is however many OMEN cards are in play you shall use the same amount of dice.
Yes, I think it matters which version you have. Mine says the same thing. One die for each omen drawn so far until a 5 or more is rolled.
I have a question... so you said monsters can only be stunned. In ending 12, we had to kill the monsters to win. I'm just kind of confused now.
I think he made a mistake because it does depend on your haunt. Every story has a different mission and some dont even have monsters.
Monsters can only be stunned unless the haunt says otherwise. So in your scenario the haunt specified that you needed to kill the monsters to win

When you need to kill monsters with the bug spray. What happens if you attack any stunned monsters? Is that a free kill or is the stunned monster still allowed to roll dice?
It sounds like your question is about a specific haunt. I suggest searching online using the Haunt Number or name. Unfortunately many haunts have some vague rules.

Can you attack and run on the same turn? For example, after the haunt begins if I'm in the same room with the traitor can I attack them and then run away afterwards?
Bert Fechner "On your turn, you can do as many of the following actions as you want in any order:
Move
Discover room
Attempt a die roll
Use items or omens
Attack"
So I would be guessing that after the attack you made if you have some "speed" left you would be able to proceed to move away. However thr traitor and monsters slow your movements and will give you hard time running away if in the same room especially with some more monsters. (every enemy in the same room requieres you have 1 adittional "speed" point to move past them.
Bert Fechner There is also a rule that says when you encounter barrier you can cast dice trying to pass it and if you fail the roll you CAN backtrace (your move doesnt end) if you have speed left. So by that logic also I think you can try move-attack-move if you have the possibility and if you survive.
If you start with an only basement roomtile how do you continue??

If the top rule can't go on the floor you're currently on, set it aside face down in a discard pile. Keep setting tiles aside until you find one that works on your floor.

HSYN That all depends on which haunt is starting. The "traitor's tome" will explicitly tell you. Everyone will know who the traitor is, but not all the details of what the traitor can do.
Sometimes, there are hidden traitors! But the rulebook tells you what to do in those cases.

How do you know how many dice to roll? Like say a room says roll a 3+ to move, does that mean roll three dice?
It should say what type of roll it is. For example a speed 3+ roll lets you roll as many dice as your speed stat is, and you need to achieve a 3 or higher to beat it.

@@eloisel7449 Your character has a stat counter. When you need to roll, check which trait you should use and roll the amount of dice that your character has in that trait (see 0:54. Peter has a 3 in his "might" trait and so would roll three dice whenever a "might" roll is indicated by the card / tile). This number changes throughout the game as you take damage or find items that affect the stat

No, you can attack and then move. There are five things you can do during your turn (attack/steal, move, explore a new room, use an item, attempt die rolls) and you can do them in any order. In fact, you can even move half your spaces, attack, and then move the rest of your spaces if you so choose (but you can only attack once)

can anybody explain the mystic elevator? I dont understand how it works
The player on the elevator rolls dice which tells you which floor it moves to. The player chooses any spot on that floor as long as it connects to a room. The elevator only moves when a player enters it, or if they start their turn on it.
@@TeachTheTable so can you keep going back to the mystic elevator to avoid the traitor? if you can pick any room it would be really hard to reach you

I just purchased this game at a thrift store for a dollar.. it's missing one omen card, one large circular monster token, one pentagonal item token, and nine plastic clips.. is this game still playable, will it affect game play, or is it usless now.. thank you.
you can definitely get by without those. the omen card may prevent you from starting one of the haunts but that is fairly insignificant
I just picked up it up at Dirt Cheap with a damaged box and supposedly missing pieces. I took the time to open it up and count everything....IT IS COMPLETE!! 90% OFF=$5!
Contact the publisher to get replacements for missing pieces (omen card mainly). You can use free apps to keep track of stats. Our group does that since the clips are made pretty terribly.

omg so many rules im confused already
We played this tonight for four god damn hours, before a Haunt commenced. In 10 mins we were all annihilated, by our traitor of the group. We died at the hands of the two headed snake. Where we needed the skull to perform the ritual to defeat the snake. But all the monster tentacles devoured the house and we all died. Let’s just say I’m glad I was tipsy for this shit. 😂🤣

I feel this was rushed and doesn't make much sense because for each thing explained I have like more questions for each thing that is explained.
Not really the game is just a lot. I read the instructions from the book first and then watched this video and I feel like this really helped with the basics. Then whenever I had a question I would go back to the instructions.
I need to buy new books. Some kids lost mine...

There were 4 of us trying to watch this video. So 3 of us who have never played this game agreed that this here "tutorial" you have somehow had the idea to even upload is completely impossible to follow. The 4th person ended up agreeing with our statement, even though he had played this game before, honestly he seemed quite confused about the game itself after this whole shabang.
