Harmonies are really easy to make, just find the correct harmony out of the harmony choices and put that harmony next to the melody as your chosen harmony.
Music theory isn't actually so hard to learn if you just commit to it. I learned within a year very much stuff that had come so usefull when making music. In my opinion best producers have naturally a good sense of melody, music, and can determine what sounds good and what doesn't at some extent. BUT when you combine that with music theory i'm telling you your life will become so much easier... I KNOW it takes time but when you realize you're stuck very often of not knowing what fits with what you just need to learn... Not hard, just takes patience and motivation. Start with basics and don't assume you know stuff you actually don't. This is my advice.🌌
what topics did you learn or you'd reccomend to learn? i know some basic music theory but i want to know how to make interesting harmonies like real musicians do.
@@wenceslas8355I watch alot of Ariana grande in the studio because she can harmonize with herself on the spot and it’s super helpful and interesting to watch.
The best way to learn harmonies... Sing along to your favourite songs and try to learn the existing harmonies on them. Eventually you'll be good enough to make up your own harmonies on songs that only have one vocal
your channel appeared on my recommendations and DAMN i'm addicted to watching your videos bro!!! you're really charismatic and your production value is SO high, it keeps me engaged in the video until the end keep up with that! you will go veeeery far!!
Honestly, for your main melody you'd want at least 3 clips of that , 3 clips of your harmony and 3 clips of your suporting note. Pan one to each side and keep one center. That creates a wall of sound that has room in the middle to keep frequencies from clashing. This is how t pain Ariana Grande and many other artists record vocals
I think it depends on the song whether this is entirely necessary. I could imagine cases of having that many vocal tracks making the mix an overcrowded mess, unless you're going for a very specific sound. Then again, I can't stand a lot of poppy hip-hop, so that could be on me.
@@AROAH doesn’t have to be like what you think there. Watch disclosures video for the breakdown of Latch ft. Sam Smith. There’s gotta be like 15 vocal tracks at one point but you barely actually notice the harmonies because of the mix
I don't even take the time to learn or watch this guy's videos (of course I'll probably use it one day) but I alr know ur editing and level of entertainment is madly underrated
Also if you are having difficulty finding harmony you can use a plugin called pitchproof to make like a guide track and sing on top of it I used to do this.
I don't even use FLStudio but your tutorials are fire. It's not a simple "Step 1, do A. Step 2, do B." format, you actually explain little bits and details about the software and how a harmony should work. Unlike that other guy who says" I just move the notes until they sound good" or whatever.
4:30 Yo, all I can add to that is to say that 7 semitones are called a perfect fifth. Usually on guitar they're called power chords, like the root note and the fifth (7 half steps up from the root). That interval is going to sound fire most of the time, however on specific melodies it doesn't work as well because sometimes the fifth of a note in a melody isn't included in that scale. I learned this every now and then by just playing guitar but I'm not that deep into that, I could try to explain further but then I would probably just share some messy uneducated knowledge haha When you look for a perfect fifth on google and click on the wikipedia page, there's a sound example. That powerchords are like normal chords just without a gender (major or minor) and basically just fill out the sound of the root note to, well, sound more powerful
Dude I swear I was gonna comment about a tutorial for harmonies AND THEN I SAW THIS VIDEO 😂 seriously, TYSM for your tutorials. They're the ONLY TUTS that works for me 😭💜 I love your videos. Thank you lots. I think I can now work on some covers that I wanna make 🙏 you're a life savior
Whenever the video cuts to the phone calls it's like I completely forget what the original video was about and I get mental whiplash cutting back to the music theory
I’m one of the ppl that harmonies come to easily and I think of it as multiple Melodies in the same key layered on top of each other. Use your layers like instruments rather than just “extra layers”
HOLY FUCK I'VE NEVER KNOWN SOMEONE ELSE WHO EATS ON EACH SIDE OF THEIR MOUTH EQUALLY I'M SUBBING PURELY FOR THAT LIKE I LITERALLY DO THE EXACT SAME THING WITH M&MS INCLUDING BITING THE LAST ONE IN HALF WHEN THERE'S AN ODD NUMBER IN THE BAG Also, you could use automation to modify the panning over the course of the track if you didn't want it to be the same on every harmony. But I don't think it really matters that much.
I personally take a fair amount of lows out my harmonies and put some reverb on them with a vet suttle delay and sound separate them but have the main vocal on maybe 5-10% merged (I always make sends for reverb and delay so I can take the lows out of the reverb and delay to avoid clashing)
So basically, a scale has seven notes and then it starts over. All of the notes in the scale sound kinda good with eachother and different scales give different vibes. If you want something happy, you go for the major scale, if you want sad, you use the minor scale. Most common harmonies I've seen are the first and third note of the scale, the first and fifth note of the scale and the first and eight note a.k.a the octave. The first, third and fifth note of a scale are called a triad and usually make up a chord. You can use any note in the scale to harmonise but they all sound different and you have to watch out and make sure the notes aren't too close to eachother like the first and the second because you might lose some of the impact.
It took this schizo 11 minutes to tell us to use Stereo Enhancer. Subbed.
Ain't no way we got the overarching storyline
