    i use that gun but the not the base one , i use 1.4m supernova and use it for everything i do from wet on wet to clear coat and its a awesome gun , i use to use the gti pro guns but now just use the supernova gun for everything using the new protec paint line aswell , and i back you 1000% on what ya said about base guns mate

      Thanks man, yeah the base and clear gun are identical its just for identifying between your guns so you know which one to grab, but supposedly the water base one is different but I wouldn't know as we still use solvent.

    Great point. Pete over at SWRNC on youtube likes to use an RP style gun (Sata) for base. I tried that and it's excellent. You don't have to have a dedicated gun just for base your clear gun does very well.

    Iwata put base and clear on their guns to separate them. When you have 2 of the same gun and only want to use your clear for just clear.
    Sata uses a color accent on the nozzle and air inlet blue,black,red
    I use this system. Base and clear guns only. And metallic,solid colors and kandies. I do this so I can have multiple guns setup for specific jobs.
    I blame it on my OCD lol 😂

    A few questions for the gunman how good are these prolite sprayguns that are copy's from China? And why is it always recommended to have at least a 20 minute flash time and u use 5 minutes .I believe trapping solvents can lead to other problems.!?

    whats your pressure at the wall if its to high you have to choke your regulator down to much does away with the purpose of high flow fitting and gun wont spray right i use the LS400 gold cap base silver cap clear fan wide open

    • @TheGunmanChannel
      @TheGunmanChannel  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I always leave the regulator on the wall wide open then adjust from my regulator on the gun, Wow I find this gun nearly impossible to use with fan wide open it goes really slow and sprays more top and bottom than in the centre so an uneven pattern, Thanks for sharing your experience with the Supernova.

    Hello ! Recommend it's better to buy Iwata LPH-400 LVX or Iwata WS-400 or LS-400 Iwata Entech? I'm working on itself, and I need Spray efficiency, reliability and good breaks that material. Thank You ! I'm Waitin answer !

    Hey there , got a question and was wondering if u have any advice. After everyday use for a year the lid for the cup is now giving me troubles going on and coming off. It dosent want to go on , at all.. you do as normally to screw on and it cocks one end up one down to start a cross thread spin down onto the cup. So to get it on i have to press down very firmly while holding the gun freely by the cup and crank it on. It hardly even spins on. Coming off is even worse. It gets so tight i can't even unscrew it without tapping something heavy right on the threaded part of the lid/cup. Have always cleans it threads meticously with a brush and rag after every use never let activated clear harden on it . They are not stripped and there is no buildup of paint the threads look absolutely fine inside the lid an on cup but it's like the lid shrank in size.. maybe from solvent soak..? Idk . Scotch bright nor sanding the lid / cup loosen it to thread freely again... should I and where to buy metal cup ?

    Nice work!! I just started watching some of you videos and subscribed, very intuitive stuff.
    Im in the US and have been painting for about 25 years now.
    The Iwata SuperNova guns are what Ive been using since they were released. Buy far my favorites, I own the gold cap base gun and the silver cap clear gun, yes there is a difference in the atomization between the 2 guns for those who would question the difference.
    Im wanting to try the new Sata 5000 phaser, any pros and cons that you know? And would it be wise to keep with the separate guns, clear and base if I was to go the Sata route.

    • @TheGunmanChannel
      @TheGunmanChannel  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The phaser has no digital gauge, cost a small fortune and was solely for looks, functionality is identical to all other 5k SATAs so I'd stay away, get a 5K for sure, they are a great gun but also beware they underestimate the tip size, 1.3 actually measures 1.47 so I always got 1.2 for clear maybe 1.3 for base.

      The only difference in the LS and the WS is the set-up (needle/tip/cap)..the main guns and fittings are the same:)

    i buy 1.4 ws400 base is good?

    • @TheGunmanChannel
      @TheGunmanChannel  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      In hot climates 1.4 is good but I find 1.3 better in cooler climates because 1.4 can sometimes be too much material and end up leaving you with runs but it would be ok for base in cool climates.

      +The Gunman hey bud I know this is kinda a old post but I purchased the supernova ls400 1.3 tip Back in October. and I really do like it but I feel like I don't have it fine tuned. I have my fan 2 turns in from Full open like you've suggested. but idk what to set my fluid level at. I know you have to go slower with the gun. I always feel like I either have to much fluid or not enough. And sometimes I get a glass finish and sometimes I just get a average finish. it's bugging me because I know this gun can achieve really great looking clear but I can't do it consistently. right now my setting are fan= 2 turns in from Full open. Air= 23-25 psi and my fluid currently is 4 turns out. but I used to spray with it 2 and half turns out
