Mere kadai me ek golden coating tha, maine usko normal scrub wash karke dal banaya usme, taste me koi difference nehi tha, par jab fir se wash kiya to golden coating thoda sa hat gaya niche se, pata nehi kya tha ye.
Hello, can we cook boiled vegetables in this or can we only fry? coz when I'm cooking veggies like bottle gaurd n all by adding water for veggies to cook, I'm getting black colour, I seasoned the kadai, but still getting it :/
Use tamarind paste for three days..keep the tamarind paste for 2min and for 5 to 10 min rubbing it with scrubber and then wash it with vim or something and then soak it in rice water till the next day Repeat it for 3days until the black coating gone

This is cleaning...you missed the major step of over heating the kadai to release the metal fluxes used while rolling and stamping processes used in manufacturing it from sheet metal to what it is now.this also helps in avoiding the metallic taste in iron pans yhat you get in intial cooking in new iron pans

Im living in canada....i had purchased a iron kadai from a indian grocery store.it has a black coating.i tried to remove it with water soap and a stone.it is coming off but its very hard to remove this black coating.plz guide me....did you remove that factory coating only with brick use.plzz answer
Try step #2 & step #. i.e., heat up the pan on stove top, apply oil thoroughly and saute onion with oil. Then wash it wish soap and wipe it clean with kitchen towel. Repeat these steps until the black coating goes away. What we get in US & Canada are old stock and the coating is resultant of prolonged oxidation. Good luck.

I tried to make matar paneer in the iron kadai(same as you have) but it tasted like chicken or like metallic taste. Could you suggest something or anything I shouldn’t be cooking in that kadai
Don’t make liquid curries in iron pan, it tastes like metal. You can make fries like BIndi fry etc or deep fries which you use oil. The moment you put water in iron Kadai, it smells and tastes weird.
I live near Chandigarh (Punjab). I bought it for ₹200/- from village Gharuan near Chandigarh. This village is famous for making iron utensils, mostly used in Gurudwara Langars.
EENT OR INT is a small piece or chip from a brick used in construction in India....This brick or eent or int is baked in a brick kiln called Bhatti in India
I purchased a iron kadai from Amazon which was light weight black colour with silver handles. I cleaned multiple times but still there is some more black dirt which has not gone completely. It's going but not gone completely.. please suggest something that I can make the inside surface of the kadai silver colour so that no black stain is there anymore

Extra strong Scotch Brite also cleans iron kadai equally good and much more easily

Cast iron is better than iron. It's not cast iron.

Use SALT with castor oil, then use rice water..
Clean it with curd.
Use sandpaper.
