He makes me happy by doing this. Can't speak for others, but he probably makes them also happy by doing this.

I love how oda makes characters who are middle aged so powerful so the idea that both shanks and Mihawk got drastically more powerful after their clash is scary shanks is technically still in his prime can’t wait to see more of both of them later

@@abdur1300 I genuinely don’t believe they can or will I mean apart from the mental blocks those two have that’s the only way. But it’s the same with fleet admiral sakazuki a lot of people assume he’s gotten stronger due to his promotion but I believe he hasn’t at all because he’s already been a monster and two years won’t change that. But for shanks it’s different because he’s still in the middle of his prime whereas kaido big mom sakazuki and the other admirals really can’t get any stronger but hope to see their full power really soon

I would undoubtedly vote to see Shanks-Mihawk fight. We've seen both Akainu and Aokiji in action a fair bit, but Mihawk and Shanks moments have been much less common. Not only that, but this is a fight that even Whitebeard commented on, which means it stands out in his mind (thinking of all that he has experienced over the years). The best part? No devil fruits. Just two unbelievable characters who have superhuman strength and amazing skills with a sword. No gimmicks, just raw talent.
Guys, let's not forget Barry has been around for a full year!
And he has been a Bricken for three months
And Matt has been over 12 years.

My favorite Mihawk Day memory is from when I was 6. After we all finished sharing our favorite thing about Dracule Mihawk, my father grabbed the 4 bottles of wine he'd been saving in the cabinet and went out to hide them. He's so devoted to finding the perfect hiding place he hasn't come back since, but I know he's doing Mihawk proud.
People will never give Mihawk the respect and rather make up stuff for either Shanks to have been stronger and letting Mihawk get the title or him not going serious.
It’s unbelievable for some in the community to think he is stronger since he has the title and easier to create scenarios where Shanks is 100% stronger and there is no other sway for him to be weaker than one other person in the series.
When it comes to powerscaling they are as bad or even worse than Zorofanboys
I like to think Shanks is stronger because he is like, the goal for Luffy; and Luffy should be stronger than Zoro (though I would argue they are pretty even quite often)
I am definitely open to have Mihawk be stronger though.
My only issue with that is, if Mihawk is stronger then the W.G would have at least sent an admiral against him right?

Luffy will surpass Shanks at some point and it´s not like Shanks is the Pirate King so the Luffy Zoro thing shouldn´t matter since i think we all agree that Pirate King>Yonko and Strongest Swordsman, right?
We don´t really know if they sent an Admiral or not and even if they didn´t that doesn´t really mean much since in such a situation with 2 Yonkos allying with each other is not the perfect time to sent an Admiral away with the possibility to lose that Admiral in a fight.

Well, about that... we don't know if there's one admiral in that fleet of 10 ships. We know one thing... if there isn't an admiral in one of those ships, Mihawk is just going to do what he did to Krieg's fleet.

@@hasantariq869 A crew stronger than Shanks's. This doesn't mean Luffy's goal is to defeat Shanks, it is simply to have a crew stronger than the Red Hair Pirates and that, is believable. However, I do not believe that Luffy's final goal is to defeat Shanks. And if they fight, it's probably gonna be a Davy Back Fight and Luffy will just actually fight the Marines or Blackbeard.

My favorite Mihawk day family tradition is when we all sit around the dinner table and pull out the katanas we've been making for the last week. It's like Halloween, but here instead of showing off pumpkin carvings, you show over your swordsmanship. I think Mihawk would be very proud of us😁
i appreciate the fact that he is organizing the video for us - me seeing a split between 3 minutes of celebrating mihawk's day, and 27 minutes of the actuall discussion - and for some reason I had faith in you matthew crawford....
Crazy Theory: Shanks used two sword style (both saijo owaizimono or however you spell it) and Mihawk upgraded his sword to be the strongest sword in the world after breaking one of Shanks swords. I don't know why I entertain this idea but it would be cool if this was the case
That would be cool, maybe only a certain amount of saijos can exist at once. And to "make" one you have to break an existing one in a fight with your own sword.

Here's an interesting question that might peak your interest(and possibly make a video about): Is there life in the Red Line? What i mean by is, what if there are other civilizations on top of the red Line other than Mariejois? For example, you have Mariejois and Reverse Mountain at the opposite sides of the world, and the rest of the Red Line seems to be empty and barren... or that's what most people think. Being the only continental landmass in a world where it's mostly ocean and islands scattered through out(+ the White Seas and the Sky Islands), you would start to question if there is someone, or something, would live up there besides the World Government and the Celestial Dragons. Imagine what could be living up there, like, different factions, different species, all that stuff. Like hey, if there's people and animals living in the sky, then there should be people and animals on the Red Line as well... if oda decides to do that... kind of. Also, Here's a quote from Nami of how she describes the Red Line: "The Red Line is like a group of islands connected together. The Red Line that crosses the Grand Line has its own Summer, Winter, Spring, and Fall "islands".

That's what I've been saying. Rayleigh even has a scar similar to the one zoro has on his eye. And someone had to be the greatest before Mihawk. And "the pirate king's crew should have nothing but the best" as luffy said to zoro way bsck when. So, what if mihawk took the title from Rayleigh and Shanks fought him to get it back?

Underestimating the admirals, not a new thing
@@reinhard3023 yeah the admirals are strong but three of them couldn’t kill an already half dead whitebeard at best they were able to keep him busy for a little bit. Plus we all know the only reason Akainu is even still alive right now is pure plot armor
@@JJQ666 no i think you've got the wrong idea. Whitebeard was at his wits end. At the time of the war he wasn't in his prime yet when he put off heaven and earth, he surely was going all out. While on the other hand, it is clear from dialogues of Akainu that Whitebeard was trying to destroy marineford while Akainu was holding back. A clear example is the outcome of Punk Hazard. Two admirals fought and the climate and the environment changed when both went all out. The fight between Akainu and Aokiji happened just after Marineford so it is clear that both were capable of doing the same in Marineford but they chose not to. You see what I'm trying to say?
Whitebeard was a monster, and the strongest in his prime, but in Marineford he was outclassed by the Admirals, solely because they are in their prime while he was ill and way beyond his prime.
@@reinhard3023 if you want to use the argument that the admirals were holding back then so was white beard he could use any wide area tremors or any tremors past a certain level or else he would have risked injuring his children plus couldn’t use any of his haki. But even in that state none of them could put him down. Now if you put big mom, kaido, or shanks in the same position Garp and Sengoku would have had to step in. Look I don’t want to keep arguing with you I was exaggerating a bit in my original comment but still it’s clear as day that the admirals while definitely high tier in one piece the honks are just more powerful. The only exception I think is possible would be Kizaru if Oda takes away his weed.

Theory: we will see luffy die by the end of the story. Why: we have been show that luffy is shortening his life span over and over again. Thus, he will die at a young(er) age without a doubt. The reason why I think we will see it is bc we saw Gol D Roger grow sick and near death before he turned himself in. It would be poetic if luffy after becoming king is shown to suffer from the extensive pressure he put on his body to get there. I imagine at the end he would smile and say “well, the adventure is finally over,” or something along those lines. I think this would make a good ending

Crazy theory of why they fought:
They fought once, Mihawk won and Shanks ofered Mihawk to join his crew, Mihawk refused but Shanks said "If I get one win against you, you join my crew", so they continued fighting until the BIG BRAWL and then shanks said "ok i give up, i cant win"

You got to imagine the seismic activity in one piece world HAS to be intense, otherwise, there would not be that many islands left... See, the Island-eater Goldfish, the continent puller Oars, the gura-gura, magu-magu, goro-goro, ryu-ryu model: duck, etc powers that can destroy islands, Poseidon, Pluton and Uranus, buster calls, island destroying duels, upward currents etc... there is just too many stuff that can destroy islands at any given moment in the world! I mean, if there is not like, 100 new islands emerged from the ocean floor each year on the OP world, then in some centuries its gonna be all sea and the red line!

I would say the fight would have happened due to their disagreement on which alcohol is the better one. I'm still betting Mihawk clapped Shanks back than close call of course.
Why's everyone so admant about Mihawk dying to sherew. From how I see it Sherew doesn't defeat or kill Mihawk or some shit but is the final test for Zoro to surpass after which Zoro would challenge Mihawk.
I think that would be best cuz B.B pirates don't have any advantage in fighting someone at Mihawk's lvl where they would loose some of their Heavy hitters for literally nothing. Mihawk doesn't control any territory neither does he has some great authority like emperrors neither does he has some D.F power.

My grandpappy taught me Haki on Mihawk Day 24 years ago today :') I still remember him singing the "Mihawk Day Song" to me, one of my warmest memories.
I have a theory bc shanks was able to stay at Luffy's island for a year without much issue could shank at one point been a warlord?
Shanks, I believe, wasn't that well-known of a pirate in the East Blue. He could've maybe not even been a pirate when he was in the East Blue! He could've been like Luffy, a pirate who rose through the ranks and entered the newspaper extraordinarily quickly and he could've just become an Emperor like that.

Who in one piece has called mihawk the strongest yonko. I am fairly certain that has never been said. Kaido has been called the strongest creature. Whitebeard was called the strongest man. Dont remember anything about Shanks.
And no one said mihawk was the strongest of the warlords in one piece but he is so fine and no one one said he had all 3 types of haki.

Shanks could have won but just let hawk think he won, that's why hawk was looking for more matches till shanks lost his arm, because he knew shanks threw the fight.

Based on the flash back shanks also could swim while saving luffy meaning he has no devil fruit meaning no alternative powers. To be fair it was in the past so he could have eaten one or be an unarmed fighter but based on info we have regarding both mihawk 2 shanks 0 imo
