DON'T TRUST THE SCAMMERS AT THE PYRAMIDS / VISIT GIZA / EGYPT TRAVEL VLOG / TRAVEL EGYPT IN 2021

  • So I finally made it to the Pyramids of Giza. It is the second time I visit them but this time all the scammers and pushy touts did make my trip a lot more uncomfortable as I was mainly getting out of the way of these guys than actually enjoying the atmosphere. It is mainly about camel, horse or wagon rides this is about, but also about selling you souvenirs all the time. Essentially I though the pyramids are going to be empty due to the Corona virus pandemic that is still going on in the world - that was a wrong notion, it was actually full with people, making it even harder to believe that so many scammers approached me. These may not even be the worst people and it is not that much money I am talking about but still: We are talking about money for a one hour horse ride that exceeds daily wages of regular Egyptian people - just because they can and tourists will go for it.
Anyway, check it out, comment, share the video and be good 👍👍.

Ive just came home from Egypt, and scammers, hassling people were also a huge factor in my trip there. It was my childhood dream to visit Egypt, but I regretted to go there. Actually these ancient sites, like Abu Simbel, or Dahshur were pretty awesome, but scammers and pushy vendors killed the enthusiasm, in the end I wanted nothing else just to come home. Egypt is a very depressing country for a western tourist in my opinion, because of these factors.

I always wanted to visit Egypt but after watching several TH-cam videos, such as this one, I realized that I will be spending most of my time arguing with pushy scammers. It's a shame that these obnoxious peddlers are destroying the vacation experience of many eager tourists! I've been to many places around the world. Egypt is definitely the worst when it comes to pushy people!

Egypt passed a law on April 23, 2018 to protect tourists against these scammers. Anyone harassing tourists at archaeological and historical sites could be fined up to *10.000 pounds* (565 USD). However looking at this video... I get the impression nobody is actually enforcing this law.

You need to visit India. This looks like a walk in the park. It’s all part of the experience. I hate it too, but you need to consider the context. Sometimes you need to put up with a bit of bitterness to enjoy the sweetness. Don’t give up the dream. You can always arrange someone from your hotel, whom you might built some rapport with to guide you and also act as a visual deterrent to ward off imposers, should they become too intrusive.

@@_trust9994 I found out why the police is not doing anything. The lower ranking officers which are actually their to enforce the law. They turn a blind eye for a fee, if they don't pay the fee they risk getting arrested and sometimes even tortured. Fingers broken or ears cut.
The highest ranking officers are not paid off and when they show up almost nobody dares to sell you anything in the street. They get people arrested without blinking a eye. But they don't show up often enough to make a difference.

You should also go with an Egyptian guide because sellers exploit foreigners and take advantage of the difference in conversion from Egyptian pounds to dollars and sell at prices Expensive, and I want to say that Egypt has 28 governorates, and in each of them there are tourist attractions, beautiful landscapes, and wonderful beaches. This is interesting. I loved the Malaysian people. They’re so warm and friendly, but I also encountered my fair share of hassle there. Outside my hotel in Kota Kinabalu (Borneo) there was a pimp lurking in the alleys that would send small children to constantly harass us. They would follow for up to half an hour, constantly yanking on our arms, begging for money. It was very sad because they were clearly being exploited, but were also a damn nuisance! I love Malaysia though and hope I can go back one day!!

Even after all the harassment and hassle with scammers I'm glad I visited Egypt. It was definitely an experience! I would suggest that anyone with patience and stamina should go just because you'll never forget having been to places like Cairo, Giza, the pyramids, the Sphinx, the Nile, Luxor and the Valley of the Kings, etc. You could go to a resort and just stay there but what would be the point? There's sun, sea and sand all around the world. I detested these annoying scammers when I was there, but as time passes I'm seeing it more as a life experience.

Amazing Pyramids !!! Seven wonders of the world!! Abit intimidating with the constant haggling to concentrate on the sights!! But do sympathise with the folks trying to make a living especially now with the downturn in tourism!! They have to feed their families and camels and horses !

Definitely true about the Paracetamol. Those guys are always there, crisis or not. They chose this kind of work which is not a bad pay normally as lots of tourists fall for it. Thank you for the video, interesting and informative! After watching this and other similar YT videos about the Giza pyramids and the scammers around, it occurs to me that in order to avoid the scammers it could work well to just put on a pair of headphones/earphones (simple ones better, i guess) when they, for instance, insist after having already said not (or even before having any conversation with them), no?

It is used in preparing or cooking or washing the items that you eat. It contains bacteria that unless you were raised in the area and have a natural immunity it will wreck havoc in your stomach.
