I couldn’t be bothered to read the instructions so I typed in the bed name in TH-cam and watched this vid whilst waiting for my bed to arrive. By memory I assembled it remarkably fast. Great vid!
@@coolissimo69 I need to do a separate video on pros and cons, but here are some of them Pros: - good quality, very heavy, sturdy, solid construction. - considering the above and others on the market, very good value for money. - velvet material is very nice, looks premium, there were no snags or blemishes on the material. - considering my abnormally heavy mattress, the gas struts help lift the mattress up very easily. - the ottoman storage space is much deeper than others on the market. - the design is elegant and modern. Cons: - assembly instructions could have been clearer. - although seemingly not detrimental to the strength of the structure, some of the metal pieces could have fitted better, or they should have provided spacers. - the design looks great, but personally I would have liked the mattress to be flush with the sides of the bed, instead of recessed. This would have saved space in my room. - the wooden slats could have been polished/varnished, they are not smooth and when pulling the mattress off this could damage the mattress (very unlikely)... I'm really picking holes now ...
@@inSUBout thanks do much once again, can I ask you about the feet of the bed?? As my floor is not flat , so I need to be able to slide some small wood to compensate the evenness.
Do you have to hold the frame or the pull straps when closing the ottoman bed to prevent it from banging shut or do you need to apply pressure to lock it in place? I have just built a king size ottoman bed. Now I don't know if its a problem with not having the right gas lifts, mine are 1400N, or whether it's because I have a heavy king size mattress which is 35cm deep and the gas struts just aren't strong enough to support the complete motion when just opening and just closing, the in between is fine. Ive seen on a set of 16OON gas lifts which I may consider ordering once I can confirm what the cause is.
Yes I do, as I also have a rather big, deep and heavy mattress. I do have to give it a good pull initially to get it to lift up, and when putting it back down, I need to take the weight a little bit to stop it from slamming shut.
It’s possible that your gas lift struts are not functioning as they should when closing the ottoman beds. The general consensus from what I’ve found from those who have always used ottoman beds as well as reputable suppliers, is that at the final stage of closing we should not be taking the strain of the mattress, equally lifting it up should be easy enough for a woman to get access to. A female friend I know who is short has two king size mattresses on her ottoman bed in her spare room. She’s able to easily open the ottoman and close the ottoman by using the strap until she can get her hands on the top of the mattress to then push it down. The two gas lift pistons on that bed are 1000N as well. I think a lot of these vendors who sell these types of furniture, try to pitch the look and the fabric of the item and whether it’s deliberate or not, do not mention if the functionality of the items works as someone would want (easy lift). I’m getting my two gas pistons replaced by the vendor who seemed to think that it’s normal for a ottoman bed to close with a bang if someone wasn’t taking the wait, as he also has the same type of bed which does the same thing, and is impossible for his mum to use. Now surely you would think that if you’re selling these things, you would know how they should function. He just said he never really thought about it🤦. If the gas pistons are inferior or defective then this is likely where we would encounter the issues. I would just finish on this, anyone who is interested in purchasing an ottoman bed, don’t just consider the appearance, ask whoever is selling the ottoman whether the ottoman is ‘EASY LIFT’, as it may not state this on their product description.
@@doctordre7273 I do agree with you, and I think (if not already) ottoman bed manufacturers should be very clear as to how much weight the bed and provided standard pistons can lift for, as you say, an 'easy lift'. I am quite certain that the pistons would be great if I were using a normal, lighter mattress. But I think most mattresses of any decent quality nowadays are heavy.
gotta love youtube, beds market is mental that its all full of fake reviews and no real user ones, good to see it in a video form before purchasing... how has it been since Aug?
It's been good, still looks fantastic, no wear or damage. Gas struts could do with being a little more heavy duty to help lift the mattress a bit more, but other than that it seems well built and should last many many years
The slats aren’t good for my bed these got displaced after 2 moths and the plastic cap holders for these slats a couple of them broke and slats came off 😞😞
Do you mean the width of the head board? (side to side, not height) if yes, I have just measured this for you and it is 159cm wide without the two side wings attached. With the wings it is 167cm wide.
Hey, yes it was difficult for me too doing it alone. I do recommend having someone to help you whilst you bolt it together. Are you referring to the top slats and bolting these to the gas struts? If so, I managed to rest the frame on top of the gas struts, it is not very stable so you might find tape or zip ties will temporarily hold it in place. Hope you get on okay
@@salvi3592 do you mean the mattress will not go down at all? Or does it touch the side panels as it goes down? If it will not go down at all, the gas joist might need some assistance for the first few times so give it a push down. It may be because your mattress is not very heavy. If it is touching the bed side panels as it goes down, you need to reposition the bolts accordingly. Let me know how you get on?
What do they look like these metal pieces? Can you see an image of them in the instruction manual? It should be in the section 'whats included', if yes, what have they labelled this piece as?
They’re medium length with screw holes, there are two silver metal pieces at the top and bottom of the bed with holes also just not sure if they go into that. The instructions I have is rubbish I can’t see the metal pieces

I got an Ottoman Bed today n put it together on my own. Quite shocked at myself considering they didn't send any instructions 😕. Took me 3 hrs lol
Nice video I used this to put my bed together, really helpful.
Great video, good Camera work, thank you...👍

So Bro what is the follow up of the bed? Does it squeak ??
