I Googled “places without Komodo dragons” and Camden Arkansas came up. So I moved there. So far I’ve been completely safe from Komodo dragons. I miss my children, and my career as a deep sea fisherman has taken a big hit, but overall it’s been worth it.

I went to Komodo in 1987. I went out early in the morning with a park ranger and got quite close to some big dragons. Because it was still relatively cold they hadn't warmed up and couldn't move very fast

31 people since 1974. 5 deaths. The video is useless. You can go to Komodo Island but the places you're allowed to go (it's fenced off and enforced) would be comparable to... Preparing to fend off lions because you're visiting the zoo gift shop.
There are lots of places in the world I have no desire to visit, and this is one of them.

The younger ones can climb as a defense mechanism to stay safe from the elder dragon's, which may prey on them (also the muscle to body mass ratio on them is insane!)
Also, they are normally docile towards humans unless provoked but do not try to get close like the clip at the end, that is a trained professional who understands their behavior

O yea…I’ve seen the little ones running up a tree, the adults as you say do eat the small ones. They are docile, and usually keep to themselves, this video is a good step of being safe while visiting. The diving and food is also great if anyone wants to visit the Komodo park.
