Hello once again, and yet another of your super video tours around the County of Kent that everyone should try and see :) Beautifully filmed and with marvelous commentary on the relevant history. Fairly certain I passed through here - quite a few years ago now, but still lovely to see once more. Brilliant and wonderful as always - many thanks chaps :)
Hello sir, a pleasure to hear from you. I did wonder if you had visited. Westerham has a wonderful mixed history, and I did think, whilst researching the details, what it would have been like in medieval times? There's little sign of the watermills that the River Darent powered. The Market Square that would have been thriving in a traditional sense, I guess the best indications are the manor houses and the cottages of Lodge Lane, but you can see that over the years, these have been 'updated'. Anyway, thanks again for the comment, Regards, Gary & Janis
@@OurWorldForYou Hello and Thank you Gary and Janis. Your observations regarding any remaining aspects of the towns medieval past are well considered, and could be applied to many other towns and villages one might suppose There has been many occasions when the very best remaining medieval features lay, not with the exteriors of buildings, but often in interior wood beams, floors and walls, incorporated into later building features, but always exciting to find :) Once again, thank you so much for your wonderfully interesting and well produced tours - top shelf as always :)
🙏 Thanks, we were out yesterday filming; another step back into time. We discovered a Tudor building that remains unspoilt; history around every corner 😀
Hi Annamária, How wonderful, did you get to look at Quebec house, a short walk from the green? That's a fascinating slice of history. There's also Emmet's garden close by; I need to get on and create our video of that. Chartwell is incredible; I hope you enjoyed your day there; we'll probably head back again this year just because it's such a beautiful place. Anyway, thanks for stopping by to take the time to comment, All the best, Gary & Janis
Thanks Carlton, so please you liked it, especially as a local. I try to see the world as a tourist, have a dig around in the history and see what pops up. Westerham is lovely, but any place that has a brewery is going to be a winner in my mind 😊 Thanks again for taking the time to comment, Gary & Janis
Jamie, How cool, are you at the Quebec House end of town? I have to head back, need to check out the Westerham Brewery - I have had a few cans in the past but need to have a proper truffle around in the selection, just need to earn enough credits for my nominated driver to agree. Anyway, thanks so much for dropping by and taking the time to comment, All the best, Gary & Janis
Another great video, thank you .
Hi Michael,
Our pleasure, so glad you liked it
