Mybe a bit late: If you only want to carry gels, considder a gel race belt/band. It is a belt (like those triathlon number belts) with elastics to hold gels. Alternatively you can use a band/belt you already own and safety pin it to that. Can be worn on top of a shirt, no chafing
I have a hack for ya: painters tape! Rips more easily, yet is still more than secure enough to hold gels. Iuse this hack, because I can use it also on bars that i cannot poke because this would rip the packadging...
I do notice that everyway has "pros" and "cons", example: 1.carrying = heavier, 2. put in bush = kid comes and plays with it, 3. Have someone to pass it to you = I dont have a person to pass me! 4. (Still thinking of more ways).
Most of the time the snacks you carry will give you significantly more energy than you loose carrying them , so 99% of the time it is worth it. Only short raves on the track it can hindre, because you don't need the energy which makes carrying them dead weight. It's like trying to ride a car for 100miles, but you only have gas for 50 because gas weight will slow down your car. You will have to refill mid way, which is slower than driving in one go. But on the other end, is like driving 10miles but you have gas for 100miles. Yes you could save weight by having gas for only 10 miles, the extra is dead weight
I’d worry about chafing, thinking about investing in a good hydration pack with pockets

What about the shorts ripping from all that pulling. The gel packs are strong

I would be bleeding or severely chafing on all of the hotspots the gels create on my waist. This is genuinely a horrible idea.
do this every run I use gels , thank you!
This is brilliant
Great one!!
As many as you want
It would be pretty funny If someone were to strap 20 of them like what are you running 5 marathons
But still, thank you so much for sharing!
How do you clean tube after your finished is it easy or does it open up on the bottom or something?

I can already see this backfiring in so many ways. 😅 Not even a remotely good strategy.
Are they shaking all the time with the bounce?
I tried it today; they don't really bounce much because they have friction with your skin
@@josepablobermudez6283also they are between you shorts elastic waistband, which minimizes bounce. They weigh next to nothing too
Dude, this is going to save me on the next marathon PR attempt.
:O
Chocolate Teapot
You should see my motor skills at miles 14+ I’m ripping my shorts off just for a damn gel 😂 get a hydration pack. Game changer
