    "Stay humble" banter aside, Haaland is the very least of City’s problems. City are getting torn apart in transition with Rodri out and their attacking patterns of play have become far too predictable. The likes of Silva, Grealish, Savinho, and Walker offer no width and nearly always predictably cut the ball back recycling possession and virtually never provide first time service to Haaland. Doku’s injury absence has taken away City’s only real 1v1 winger who creates width and stretches back lines by getting to the end line. And De Bruyne’s injury absence has taken away the only City player who is actually willing to play high risk aggressive passes that not only feed Haaland first time service but once against stretches opposition back lines.

      I know things can reverse at any given moment and I'm prepared to take back my words but it's finally right to say I told you so after 5 losses in a row for City. I made the exact argument that it would get difficult for City quickly as soon as the Rodri injury came out and that City were one injury or Haaland losing form away from it being a disaster for them in terms of their title defence. I also mentioned that Debruyne and Rodri are world class players for a reason and that they can't be replaced easily. No amount of Peps genius abilities can ever change that.

      Liverpool's win rate is 5% higher without Salah than with him. Madrid had an approximately similar win rate with and without Ronaldo. Barcas win rate is much higher when Messi was not playing. Brighton keep losing stars upon stars but are fine. Spurs survived without Kane. The list goes on. People must stop blaming missing players and injuries for poor results.

    • @fireproximity4225
      @fireproximity4225 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +12

      Agreed, Rodri is an amazing player but it is becoming a lazy argument that his injury is the sole reason for their woes. Just like the Sporting game, this was a case of City not taking their chances and allowing their opposition to capitalize on theirs. In the same way their control and possession is praised for its effectiveness, their lack of sharpness on the counter has to point back to Pep.

    The decision to re sign Gundogan was a massive mistake, you get ahead of the curve, it was correct to let him leave, to bring him back is madness. I just don't understand why City didn't go in for another defensive midfielder in the summer, yes Rodri is out and so is Kovacic who can do a a job as a sitter, but then EVERY other midfielder in your roster is a ball player and you have ZERO physical tacklers to bring in to protect your back line??
      I must admit I love seeing City lose to anyone, but as they said nobody will have any sympathy for them missing a couple players after they fixed their books to assemble an illegal super-team, it's just surprising that they would allow having 1 player with a long term injury result in their billion dollar squad crumbling

They will be competing but goodbyes to the streaks ... Chelsea , Liverpool and now UTD will be improving and City cannot not outdo their past 6 seasons , anything less than that will be a decline. Because people don’t actually realize Werner has been clocked as the 3rd fastest player in the entire Premier League. Walker, despite losing a yard, is still faster than 99% of players in the league. I think he underestimated how fast Werner actually is. If you go back and watch the play he deliberately gave Werner the angle to try and run past him. Walker has done that for many years to bait wingers into trying to run past him. But he got caught doing it against the wrong player.

Kulu has better end product that Johnson so getting the ball to him quick out wide means he would be one on one with the a defender, Kulu can also drift inside if needed. Maybe Ange will use this same line up next weekend. Also think Radu should start even if Romero is fit Radu and Davis seem to have a good link between them.

    I don't think is City the problem is Tottenham who is getting more mature... Son is getting older but his passes are master peace, his vibe is integrating the players, coach and Levy... they are enjoying playing together... City defenders were covering Son as expected but it created open spaces for the other players because Tottenham is not a Kane's team anymore... everyone is allowed to shoot... Son is their Star player and he is assisting more than shooting... is hard to deffend if you don't know who will do the shoots...

    That’s the issue with timo. Shaka saying he just ran past walker…… that in itself is a skill. It’s called being effective . It’s all he does. Simple movements but faster and quicker . He’s had the same style for all this while. It just takes a special eye to see this type of players because he also doesn’t make a lot of noise so people don’t give him due credit sometimes

    Kulisevski sprints away and Foden makes no attempt to chase and win the ball back.
