Just found your channel and I love it! Your bike ride/real estate vid of coco plum is my fave so far. I would love to see a video of y’all snorkeling at that old lighthouse off of marathon.

Awesome!! A beautiful underwater flower garden. Some of the fish were equally beautiful. I snorkeled off Bermuda in my young life and there were tons of trash. Great video!!

My hobbies are exspensive too :( But at least I'm saving for real estate, so when I retire, I'll live on a boat in the keys and would like to do crazy things like, How legal would it be to make a tiny glass container for one to three people and prop it down in the ocean next to a reef to watch fish go by while their is a hose or section connecting from the glass container to the air above? I think it would be cool and then you could put a bean bag chair their and watch netflix. Just how legal is that, when your far away from other folks and find a place to ancor your boat and set it up??? yup my imagination is going crazy again -_-
when I come down from new Smyrna beach Florida to stay in the keys I normally stay in key west and big pine areas. I’ve never fished off of marathon before!! is only that area restricted? as far as patch reefs go? I’m staying in key colony in July and So I’m doing my research now but it helps to have some local knowledge as well! No numbers or secret spots needed just some friendly advice! Thanks!!
There are only two restricted areas that I know of around Marathon, and that is Coffin's Patch and Sombrero Light. The rest of the reef is open for fishing. The fishing access out of Key Colony is excellent and a super easy run to the reef or offshore. I think you'll enjoy fishing Marathon!

Beautiful area , no wonder your not supposed to anchor there. The Reef looked healthy, to me, with many different species of Fish. Brian
I thought so as well, reef looked good to me, but then again I have nothing to compare it to.
Was fortunate to dive Coffin's Patch about 25 years ago, which was my first ocean dive. Our 27-year-old daughter was about a year and a half old back then:) We stayed at Coco Plum Beach resort and dove with Captain Hook Dive Shop. I remember seeing nurse sharks, barracuda, and lobsters. It was an awesome trip and have always hoped to make it back someday.

@@GablesOnTheGo For sure!!!! As we exited the channel, we all noticed a small boat had landed in front of a condo building with a number of folks milling around... turns out it was a small boat that had made the journey all the way from Cuba with 18 refugees and they made it as far as Marathon!
